Terms of Service
Effective October 14, 2026
These terms cover your use of CompletionLab. They are short on purpose. By using the site you accept them.
What CompletionLab is
CompletionLab is an independent service that helps Xbox players finish games: it reads your achievements, tracks what you have left, and collects routes written by other players.
CompletionLab is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Microsoft or Xbox. Game names, artwork, achievements and trademarks belong to their publishers and platform owners.
Your account
You sign in with a Microsoft account, and you must be entitled to use the account you sign in with. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Your Microsoft authorisation can end at any time — it can expire, you can revoke it, or it can otherwise become invalid. When it does, CompletionLab stops being able to update your library until you sign in again.
You can delete your account at any time from profile settings. What that removes and what survives is set out in the Privacy Policy.
This is a public alpha
Which means, plainly:
- features will change, and some will be removed
- data can be incomplete, late, or occasionally wrong
- the site can be unavailable; there is no uptime commitment
- things will break, and reporting them is genuinely useful — see Contact
Being in alpha excuses rough edges. It does not excuse misleading you about your own data, and it is not offered here as cover for that.
Achievement and completion information
CompletionLab works hard to be accurate about completion, and it is careful to show you where each figure comes from. But achievement data, catalogue data and platform availability all change underneath it, and it can be wrong or out of date.
Three different things, kept separate on purpose:
- Xbox-confirmed — evidence Xbox returned. This is what your public profile and completions are built from.
- Manual progress — what you ticked off yourself. It is for your own tracking, it is never published, and it never becomes Xbox-confirmed.
- Guides and community routes — advice from other players, and a description of the order people actually unlocked things in. Neither is official, and neither comes from Microsoft.
For your Xbox achievement and completion state, Xbox-confirmed evidence is the authority, and it is what public prestige on CompletionLab is built from. Other things you see here — how games are named and grouped, which store products belong together, where a game can be played, and CompletionLab’s own ratings and estimates — are CompletionLab’s own work, and they can be wrong in their own right.
Guides and other things you write
Guides, routes and reports written by members are their authors’ work and their authors’ opinions. You keep ownership of what you write. By publishing it on CompletionLab you give CompletionLab permission to store, display and distribute it on the site — nothing more, and only so it can be shown to the people you published it for.
Publish only what you have the right to publish. If you delete your account, published guides stay up with your name removed, so that players relying on them are not left mid-route.
What not to do
- do not try to access accounts, data or areas that are not yours
- do not attack, overload or interfere with the service, or scrape it in a way that does
- do not abuse the reporting or voting controls
- do not post unlawful content, or content designed to harm others
- do not impersonate anyone
Suspension and changes
Accounts that break these terms can be restricted or banned. A ban restricts an account; it does not delete it.
CompletionLab may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service. Since this is an alpha, assume that will happen.
No warranty, and limits
CompletionLab is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. It is a free service run by one person, and it is not liable for loss arising from your use of it — including inaccurate completion data, a guide that turned out to be wrong, lost time, or the service being unavailable.
Nothing here tries to exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded where you live.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the effective date above changes with them. Continuing to use CompletionLab after that means the new terms apply.
