1.3.0-alpha.4
Mythic, Better Base Game Tracking, and a Whole Lot of Cleanup
The big thing is Xbox’s new Mythic for finishing every achievement in a game’s confirmed Base Game set. We also rebuilt a bunch of the Base Game tracking underneath it, improved Xbox 360 support, cleaned up the Hall and profile completion views, and renamed the rarity tiers.
CompletionLab 1.3 is live :)
The biggest thing in this update is Mythics.
Xbox introduced Mythic around completing a game’s Base Game achievement set, and CompletionLab now tracks that alongside 100%.
So now there are two different completion states:
Mythic = every achievement in the Xbox-confirmed Base Game earned.
100% = every currently eligible achievement earned, including DLC and other additions.
You can have Mythic without 100%, or you can have both.
Base Game tracking got rebuilt and fed straight from Xbox, as well as verified adjustments as needed. CompletionLab needed to actually understand which achievements Xbox considers part of the Base Game.
So 1.3 adds a much deeper Base Game system underneath everything. Where Microsoft gives us an official BaseGame achievement group, that is what CompletionLab uses.
Xbox 360 titles on the site got a pretty huge upgrade too. A lot of the work for 1.3 was making sure this wasn’t only good for newer games. CompletionLab now has a much better way of getting complete Xbox 360 achievement rosters, including Base Game and DLC information, while keeping the actual achievement list separate from an individual player’s progress.
That was a surprisingly annoying rabbit hole lol, but it gives older Xbox games a much better foundation for Mythic and completion tracking.
Profiles now show Mythic and 100% separately
Your profile now has separate totals for 100% and Mythic. They both have their own artwork, and both stats are clickable. Tap 100% and it takes you straight to your 100% Hall. Tap Mythic and it takes you straight to your Mythic Hall. And if you’re looking at somebody else’s profile, it opens their Hall, not yours.
Small detail, but it feels way better.
The Hall of Completions now has two views. The Hall can now switch between: Mythic and 100%
A game can qualify for one or both. If you have both, CompletionLab can show both completion marks on the game cover. So you can actually tell the difference between:
“I finished the Base Game.”
and
“I finished literally everything.”
Which is exactly what I wanted.
Mythic finally has its real artwork. The temporary Mythic icon is gone too. The final Mythic artwork is now live across CompletionLab anywhere Mythic is shown. Profiles, Hall cards, game cards, lists, completion badges, all of it. The 100% artwork stays separate, so the two completion types have their own identity.
Rarity got cleaned up too
The achievement rarity tiers also got their final names:
Onyx: under 0.1%
Ruby: 0.1% to under 1%
Amethyst: 1% to under 5%
Sapphire: 5% to under 10%
Uncommon: 10% to under 25%
Common: 25% and up
That is strictly achievement rarity.
