1.3.1-alpha.1
Expanded Xbox Catalog
Added 1,172 verified Xbox games and 36,067 achievements by rebuilding how Store-discovered games are verified before they enter the catalog.
CompletionLab’s catalog just got a lot bigger :)
1.3.1-alpha.1 adds 1,172 games and 36,067 achievements, bringing the catalog to 12,469 games and 365,632 achievements at release.
Previously, Microsoft’s Store metadata included an XblAchievements flag that looked like a reasonable way to decide whether something was an Xbox achievement game. Turns out it really wasn’t. 1,035 of the 1,172 games added in this update did not have that flag at all. So CompletionLab no longer uses it as the gate.
Instead, a Store-discovered title has to prove itself directly through Xbox before it can become a game on CompletionLab. Xbox has to return a real achievement roster, Microsoft has to identify the Base Game achievement group, and every Base Game achievement has to actually exist in that verified roster.
If that evidence is missing, incomplete, or empty, the game stays out.
That means this update was able to recover a huge number of legitimate games that the old Store metadata was hiding from us, while still refusing to create empty game pages.
Some of the newly recovered games include F1 2016, Skylanders Imaginators, Necropolis, Dead Rising 4 for Windows, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
The new system also keeps Store discovery separate from achievement truth. Store data can tell CompletionLab that a title exists, but Xbox is what proves the achievement game.
Game Pass reconciliation was tightened up at the same time. It can attach Game Pass information to games that already exist, but it no longer creates games by itself.
This first pass focused on released modern Xbox and Windows titles that Microsoft’s current Store catalog can already identify. Xbox 360, delisted titles, regional discovery, and other historical gaps are separate catalog-expansion work.
+1,172 games.
+36,067 achievements.
And a much better foundation for finding the rest.
