Before You Start

Costume Quest on Xbox is the Xbox 360 release, played on Xbox One and Series consoles through backward compatibility. The list has 20 achievements worth 250 Gamerscore: 15 base-game achievements (200 Gamerscore) and 5 Grubbins on Ice achievements (50 Gamerscore). There is no separate native Xbox One or Windows list.

  • Online: none. Everything is offline and single-player.
  • Status (2026-10-17): nothing is unobtainable. The Grubbins on Ice add-on is listed as Free on the Xbox store, so claim it before you start.
  • Playthroughs: one. There are no difficulty settings and no difficulty achievements.
  • Missables: nothing in the base game is known to be permanently missable, but clear the Mall's dark corridor completely on your first pass, since returning to it isn't confirmed. Sarcophagus portals let you return to earlier areas, and after the credits Continue reloads you just before the final boss with the portals still open. Two stretches are one-way, though. There is no portal back to the Suburbs until you've trick-or-treated every shop in the Mall. Entering Fall Valley strips every costume, and you can't travel back until you've beaten the Metxel rematch past the corn maze.
  • Grubbins on Ice: play it after you've finished the base game. Launch it from the same save so your costumes, cards and stamps carry over. Start with Continue Game, then Grubbins on Ice. See the Grubbins on Ice section for the backup path. Loading the save and backtracking after the DLC ending has been reported but isn't confirmed on current Xbox, so finish every Repugia quest before the final fight.
  • Save safety: the game uses a single save, and starting a new Costume Quest campaign erases it. Never pick Start New Game, then Costume Quest, once you have progress. If Grubbins on Ice is missing from the menus, close and relaunch the game first. If it's still missing, reinstall the add-on before going any further.

Running Achievements

These four build up over the whole game. Start working on them in the first hour.

Do the Monster Bash

Required: pail-bash 10 different wandering monsters from behind to start their fights. House fights don't count. Sneak up on a roaming enemy until the bash prompt appears, then press it. Do this whenever you can and it will unlock long before the Mall is done.

Binary Bouncer

Required: boost off 15 different ramps while wearing the Robot. Using the same ramp again doesn't count. The Suburbs has exactly 15 ramps, which is enough on its own. Hit every ramp you see while you trick-or-treat, including ones that lead nowhere. The last few are past Mrs. Putterpam's house and open up with her quest, so expect this to unlock late in the Suburbs. If it hasn't unlocked by then, the Mall and Fall Valley have more ramps.

Leave some for the rest of us!

Required: collect more than 4,000 candy in total. Spent candy still counts, so the stamp shop never sets you back. Buying every stamp costs roughly 8,600 candy, so this unlocks naturally partway through the Mall.

Battle Buds

Win any battle with a second kid in your party. It unlocks in the Suburbs, the first time you win a fight after Everett joins.

Auburn Pines Suburbs

Opening and the Robot

Pick Wren or Reynold. The choice is cosmetic and changes nothing for achievements. After your sibling is kidnapped, win the tutorial battle to get the Robot pattern. Then open the three nearby coffins for the Cardboard Box, Aluminium Foil and Roller Skates, and craft the Robot.

From here on, wear the Robot while exploring so you can boost off every ramp for Binary Bouncer. Pail-bash enemies from behind whenever you can.

Trick-or-Treating the Neighborhood

Collectibles 9 collectibles
  • Raz-Ums — Grubbin house north of the unopened monster gate; usually your first card.

  • Glop — Two houses: one just past the bullies early on, one in the area past Mrs. Putterpam's. Trade the spare to Scott.

  • Wobblers — Across the road from the Patriot party, in a house fight or from a nearby monster.

  • Shimmerfizz — House east of the Patriot party, in the same fight as Swedish Noses.

  • Chunkwutter — House south of the second hide 'n' seek kid, in the same fight as a Fruity Foam.

  • Candy Hair — House west of the park, from the two warlocks.

  • Fruity Foam — Two houses: one left of the roller-skate coffin fence, one first past Mrs. Putterpam's. Trade the spare to Austin.

  • Moops — First house past Mrs. Putterpam's, in the same fight as a Fruity Foam.

  • Swedish Noses — House east of the Patriot party, plus a spare in the house just north of Austin.

The black gate at the edge of the Suburbs stays shut until every house has been trick-or-treated. Visited houses go dark, so any lit door is one you still need. Work through the neighborhood, doing these as you reach them:

  • Programmed for Protection: outrun Travis to recruit Everett, who brings the Knight costume. Win your next fight for Battle Buds.
  • The Patriot's Party: Cindy, the Abe Lincoln kid across from the patriotic house, gives the Statue of Liberty pattern and the password, Manifest Destiny. Tell the password to the other Abe kids to get past them. Wayne lets you into the sewer, and you get in by wearing the Knight and holding Shield. Inside, a coffin in a hidden room on the right holds the Sheet. Evan clears the first ramp, and the Cardboard is in a coffin in the garden beyond it. Brian, at the next ramp, hands over the Feather Duster. Craft the costume, wear it, and talk to Russell at the patriotic house to get into the party.
  • Pie for the Putterpam: Mrs. Putterpam's bake sale blocks the top right of the neighborhood until you bring her cherries. Once Russell lets you into the patriotic house's backyard, a squirrel in the cherry tree throws things at you. Wear the Knight and hold Shield to walk under the tree and grab the cherries, then take them back to her. She lets you past, which opens the next block of houses and makes Austin, one of the card traders, appear.
  • These Tombstones Aren't Styrofoam: a story-side quest you'll find along your route.
  • Robot Repair: finishes when you assemble the Robot.

The park is the hub. It has a save point, Sadie's stamp shop and Bob's apple bobbing.

Most page-one cards come from the house fights. Each house fight happens once and pays out set cards, as far as reported, so trick-or-treating every house picks up most of the page. Glop and Fruity Foam each drop from two different houses, which gives you the spares for the two Suburbs trades. The second house for each is in the area that opens after Pie for the Putterpam.

Park and Side Quests

Collectibles 3 collectibles
  • Sweet Tooth — Suburbs Bobbing for Apples, round three (30 points).

  • Choconana — Scott's reward for a spare Glop (This Card Is So Rare).

  • Jelly Has-Beens — Austin's reward for a spare Fruity Foam in the Suburbs (Suburbs Collect 'em All).

These quests won't finish through the story. Do them before you take on BoJonn: once the gate opens, the Suburbs stays locked until the Mall is fully trick-or-treated.

  • Auburn Pines Hide 'n' Seek: find six hidden kids. Two of them are behind quests: Nyla needs The Patriot's Party sewer route open, and Lili needs the Putterpam quest done, so do this sweep after both. Ruby is in a tree in the park, Mark is to the right of the patriotic house, Wendell is behind the green car after the first sewer, Julian is by the mailbox near the black gate, Lili is behind the trash cans past Mrs. Putterpam's, and Nyla is in a hidden room in the second sewer. The quest log counts them as you find them. The reward is the Tote Bag pail.
  • Suburbs Bobbing for Apples: three rounds with Bob, needing 20, 25 and 30 points. Green apples are worth 3, red are worth 1, and rotten are worth nothing. Go for the green ones. Round three pays out the Sweet Tooth card.
  • This Card Is So Rare: Scott, at the park corner below the apple bobbing, wants a spare Glop and gives you Choconana. Suburbs Collect 'em All: Austin, past Mrs. Putterpam's, wants a spare Fruity Foam. He gives you Jelly Has-Beens, a page-three card. Glance at the card book afterward to confirm it arrived. Each trade uses up one of your two copies, so you keep one for the book.
  • Stamps: Sadie's stock grows as you level up. Buy whatever you can afford. Every stamp she sells stays available later, so there's no rush.

Creepy Treat Cards are sorted by area, 18 to a page: page one is the Suburbs, page two the Mall and page three Fall Valley. A card always goes on its own page, even when a trade hands it to you early. Cards come from battles, bosses, the third bobbing round and trades, never from chests. The graveyard past the gate has three more fights worth six page-one cards. Have 17 of the 18 page-one cards before BoJonn, because the Suburbs stays locked until the Mall is cleared. BoJonn himself drops the 18th, Fee-Fi-Fo-Fudge. The Collectibles section at the end lists every card and where it comes from.

The Black Gate and the Scarecrow

Collectibles 6 collectibles
  • Chocolate Carrot — Graveyard past the black gate, from the back-attack tutorial Grubbin.

  • Lollopops — Graveyard tutorial fight, with Chocolate Carrot.

  • Fuds — Graveyard, from the Grubbin in front of the Scarecrow.

  • Gooz — Graveyard Grubbin in front of the Scarecrow, with Fuds.

  • Jammie Jams — Graveyard, just north of the tutorial fight.

  • Box Cake — Graveyard, same fight as Jammie Jams.

Once every house is dark, the black gate opens onto the Auburn Pines graveyard. The Scarecrow, Dorian, is there. He gives the Pumpkin pattern and the Paper Mache, its first piece. He turns up again in the Mall and Fall Valley with the other two pieces. The two sarcophagi in the graveyard don't work yet.

Downsized!

Collectibles 1 collectible
  • Fee-Fi-Fo-Fudge — Beat BoJonn at the end of the Suburbs.

BoJonn fights next to his Megaphone, which keeps calling in minions. Take out the Megaphone first, then the minions, then BoJonn. Winning gets you the achievement, the Screaming Spider stamp and the Fee-Fi-Fo-Fudge card.

After the fight the story heads straight to the Mall. You can't get back to the Suburbs until a Mall sarcophagus opens.

Autumn Haven Mall

Arrival and First Floor

Collectibles 8 collectibles
  • Slime Beetles — Dark corridor Trowbog in a corner behind a coffin; a second one roams floor two. Trade the spare to Kenji.

  • Fish Head — Dark corridor Trowbog just east of the Snow Boots shopkeeper.

  • Cinnamon Brain — Dark corridor Trowbog in the big area with the workers (easy to skip), plus a Trowbog in the Broccoli Wafers shop. Trade the spare to Carlos.

  • Licorice Cables — Dark corridor Trowbog that wanders in and out of the darkness.

  • Edible Hat — First Trowbog after the security guard, near the dark corridor.

  • Gingerbread Ham — Trowbog past the darkness and down an escalator.

  • Wood Chips — Expected from BoJonn's arcade fight; if it doesn't arrive, look for it on Mall Trowbogs.

  • Sour Feet — Beat BoJonn on the Mall-O-Rail track, his third fight overall.

You arrive in the dark construction corridors, before the main Mall. Get the Space Warrior here first. The security guard hiding from the teenagers gives the pattern, and the shopkeeper, construction worker and janitor hand over the Snow Boots, Safety Visor and Empty Soda Bottles. That finishes The Dark Side of the Mall. Use the Knight's Shield to pass falling debris, and use Glow to get through the pitch-black stretches.

The dark corridor is the easiest place to lose page-two cards. Slime Beetles, Fish Head, Licorice Cables, Cinnamon Brain, Edible Hat and Gingerbread Ham all come from Trowbogs there, including ones lurking in the dark patches. Some are easy to walk around. Light every dark patch and fight every monster before you move on, because it isn't confirmed that you can get back into the corridor later.

Past the save point at the end of the corridors, the door on the left leads into the main Mall. Trick-or-treat every shop as you go. Once all of them are done, a sarcophagus by the gate opens and links back to the Suburbs for any leftovers. Tickets For Treats and The Mall-O-Rail is Broken move forward with the story. Lucy joins after the Mall-O-Rail section. She's your third party member, and the costume contest won't start until she's with you.

BoJonn returns twice in the Mall. The arcade fight during Tickets For Treats should give Wood Chips, and the Mall-O-Rail track fight gives Sour Feet. Check the book after the arcade fight. If Wood Chips didn't arrive, it's a Mall Trowbog drop instead.

Make it Work

This is the Extreme Costume Challenge. Each judge wants a costume that fits their theme:

  1. Mrs. Kim wants Educational: the Statue of Liberty.
  2. Mr. Mendoza wants High-Tech: the Robot.
  3. Mrs. Bagley wants Chivalry and Honour: the Knight.

Winning unlocks the achievement and gives you the Unicorn pattern. Its pieces are Sparkly Fabric from a coffin beside the Mall-O-Rail tracks (go through the hole in the arcade wall, follow the tracks on foot, and it's in a nook on the far-left side of floor two), Yarn from a coffin at the top of the lone down-only escalator on the right (southeast) side of floor two, which you walk up against its direction, and Glitter from a coffin in the giant pumpkin on the first floor. To reach the pumpkin, go to floor three, find the gap in the railing near Shovels 'n Such, break the caution tape and drop down. The Mall's Scarecrow stands next to the contest stage. Talk to him for the Orange Paint, the second Pumpkin piece.

Upper Floors and the Ninja

Collectibles 7 collectibles
  • Mossy Log — Trowbog south of the Mall's monster gate.

  • Sweet Fat — Same Trowbog as Mossy Log.

  • Pimples — Trowbog in the store just west of the arcade.

  • Sludge — Trowbog just south of the arcade.

  • Broccoli Wafers — Trowbog shop fight on the east side of floor two.

  • Frozen Butter — Trowbog south of the top of the escalator the ninjas block.

  • Coffee Toffee Taffee — Monster near Orange Blast, on the top floor's east side.

Earn Your Monster Slayer Badge: the red ninja kid wants three monster horns, and he gives you the Ninja pattern. The pieces are the Scarf (Devin, after the arcade), the Sweat Pants (Lucy) and the Rope (Sid, after the Mall-O-Rail fight). The ninja kids block the way to floor three until this is done.

Dressed to Quest

This unlocks as soon as you own five costumes. Robot, Knight, Statue of Liberty, Space Warrior and Ninja are all story costumes, so it happens around here no matter what.

Mall Side Quests

Collectibles 3 collectibles
  • Pizza Sundae — Mall Bobbing For Apples, round three (35 points).

  • Gummy Water — Carlos's reward for a spare Cinnamon Brain (This Card Is Rarer).

Finish these before you take the train to the Candy Emporium.

  • Mall Hide 'n' Seek: Laura is in the tree left of the entry stairs, Razmig is in Sadie's tent, Joey is in the food court, Bert is in a waste container on the left of floor two, Christine is behind a plant on the right of floor two, and Mei is by a bench on floor three. The reward is the Pumpkin Pail.
  • Mall Bobbing For Apples: rounds need 25, 30 and 35 points. Round three gives the Pizza Sundae card.
  • This Card Is Rarer: Carlos, by the Mall-O-Rail Central Station, wants a spare Cinnamon Brain and gives you Gummy Water. Mall Collect 'em All: Kenji, on floor three, wants a spare Slime Beetles and gives you a Misfortune Cookie, which belongs on page three. Both requested cards come from two different Trowbogs each, one in the dark corridor and one roaming the upper floors.
  • Stamps: Sadie runs the Campin' and Stampin' shop. If you're short on candy, the enemies on floors two and three are a good farm.
  • Cards: have 17 of the 18 page-two cards before Metxel, who drops the last one, Banana Beard. Besides the dark corridor, page two comes from Trowbogs in the shops and on the upper floors, the bobbing prize and the two BoJonn fights.
Only hand over duplicates. Each trader asks for a card from their own area's page, and you still need your own copy for the book.

The Candy Emporium

Once every shop is visited, the train takes you through the black gate to Metxel.

Dozer Dodger

Collectibles 1 collectible
  • Banana Beard — Beat Metxel at the Candy Emporium.

Metxel has two forms. When he stares at a kid for two turns, he follows up with a heavy, stunning hit. Shield that kid with the Knight, or use the Ninja's Kitsune Shroud. Winning gets you the achievement, the Banshee stamp and the Banana Beard card.

Point of no return, for now: after Metxel, Dorsilla takes the party to Fall Valley. You can't go back until you've beaten the Metxel rematch past the corn maze. Nothing gets locked away for good, but finishing the Mall and any Suburbs leftovers now saves a long trip later.

Fall Valley

Waking Up Without Costumes

Collectibles 6 collectibles
  • Salmon Rings — House with a Halloween banner above the fountain.

  • Blobbles — House just east of the Salmon Rings house, with Human Crackers.

  • Human Crackers — House east of the Salmon Rings house, with Blobbles.

  • Street Chews — Bannered house above Sadie's stand; a spare in the tent east of the cannon. Trade the spare to Nathan.

  • Fried Popcorn — House northeast of the flaming statue, with Unicorn Pellets.

  • Unicorn Pellets — House northeast of the flaming statue; spares come from Fall Valley roaming enemies. Trade the spare to Rebecca.

You start caged and wearing candy costumes, with every costume taken. The Original Costume Quest gets them back. Do it straight away, because you need their abilities to continue. Chip, the fries vendor, gives the French Fry costume, whose Lure ability you'll use here and in Grubbins on Ice. A 2010 title update broke Lure for some saves that were already in progress. New games aren't affected. Do it in this order. First, lure the three hungry kids to Chip's stand one at a time: Kelsey by the fountain, Tasha on the pier and Tyler at the bottom-right of town. That earns your carnival tickets. Then go back to the two crows by the barn. They now show a food icon, so lure each one into the barn to recover your costumes. You need both the tickets and the costumes to get into the carnival. Trick-or-treat every house and tent, including the ones near Chip, to open the next black gate.

The Carnival

Collectibles 9 collectibles
  • Barf Roll-Ups — Carnival tent at the back right, beside the fried butter stick stand.

  • Clippingz — Carnival tent east of Orzo's cannon.

  • Chocolate Hamburger — Monsters under the Ferris wheel.

  • Old Lady Fingers — Fight at the top of the Ferris wheel after the cannon ride.

  • Gloop — Top of the Ferris wheel. A different card from Glop on page one.

  • Sugar Bucket — Fall Valley Bobbing For Apples, round three (40 points).

  • Mice Crispy Treat — Nathan's reward for a spare Street Chews (This Card Is The Rarest).

  • Coconuts & Bolts — Rebecca's reward for a spare Unicorn Pellets (one older list instead puts it in the tent southeast of the strength tester); check the book after her trade.

  • Booger Pie — Fall Valley enemy drop with no fixed location (one older list calls it Rebecca's reward); keep fighting Fall Valley enemies if it's missing.

  • All's Fair That Ends Fare: Henry at the ticket gate gives the Vampire pattern. The pieces are the Scary Fangs (coffin behind Jon), the Black Cloth (on the path from the carnival up toward town, break the obstacle, then use the Space Warrior's Glow to enter the dark cave behind the tree where Kjeld hides; the coffin is inside) and the White Makeup (a coffin on a side path near the black gate).
  • The Ferris wheel and Orzo's cannon move the story along. The cannon needs the Ninja's Sneak.
  • Fall Valley Bobbing For Apples: rounds need 30, 35 and 40 points. Round three gives the Sugar Bucket card. Unlocks Chompin' Champ, below.
  • This Card Is The Rarest: Nathan wants a spare Street Chews and gives you a Mice Crispy Treat. Fall Valley Collect 'em All: Rebecca, on the path that opens after the cannon ride, wants a spare Unicorn Pellets. She gives you Coconuts & Bolts, and Booger Pie is a normal Fall Valley enemy drop. One older card list swaps the two, so check both slots in the book right after the trade. If Coconuts & Bolts is still empty, look for it in the tent southeast of the strength tester. Only one fixed Unicorn Pellets source is documented: the fight in the house northeast of the flaming statue, which only happens once. No guide names a second fixed source. Unicorn Pellets is listed among Fall Valley's general enemy drops, and guides report that every fight pays out at least one card. So before you go to Rebecca, beat every Fall Valley house, tent and roaming enemy, then check for a spare. If you still don't have one, leave the area and come back to fight respawned monsters until it drops. Respawns are limited and the drop isn't guaranteed per fight, so expect this to take a while.

Chompin' Champ

Required: win all nine bobbing rounds, three in each area. It unlocks when you clear the last round you have left. Doing them in area order puts that in Fall Valley.

The Corn Maze

Collectibles 1 collectible
  • Jaw Hurters — Crow guarding one of the Grubbin prisoners.

Children of the High Fructose Corn Syrup: a defector Grubbin gives the Grubbin pattern. Three prisoners hand over the Burlap Sack, Dirty Socks and Grubbin Mask. The Grubbin disguise gets you through the maze. It has no battle ability.

The Last Gourdian

The third Scarecrow is near the maze entrance and gives the Leaves. If you already have the Paper Mache and Orange Paint, craft the Pumpkin and the achievement unlocks. If you missed either one, go back through the sarcophagi once they open, just below.

  • Fall Valley Hide 'n' Seek: Lydia is in the hay by the barn, Anna is behind a rock at the carnival entrance, Emily is behind the vines right of Nathan, David is in the grass by the Ring-the-Bell, Kjeld is in a tree after the secret carnival exit, and Elliot is just past the Scarecrow. The reward is the Bat Bucket. If a kid isn't where you expect, follow the quest counter.

Past Metxel: Cleanup Hub

You fight Metxel once more, this time with a single health bar. Afterward, two sarcophagi between the corn maze and the final climb link all three worlds. Go back now and finish everything left over.

All Decked Out

Required: all 54 base-game cards, 18 on each of the three pages. Grubbins on Ice cards don't count. Getting the last card also gives you the Black Cat costume, which confirms the book is complete.

If you're short:

  1. Find which page has gaps and compare it against the Collectibles list at the end.
  2. Check whether a trade already delivered a card you think is missing. Jelly Has-Beens and Misfortune Cookie arrive from the Suburbs and Mall trades, before Fall Valley.
  3. Go back to that area and fight every enemy you haven't beaten yet, starting at the listed locations.
  4. Defeated wandering enemies come back in limited numbers, so leave and re-enter the area and keep checking the book.

They'll be worth a lot someday

Required: all 24 base-game stamps. Sadie sells 21, and you get one each from BoJonn, Metxel and Dorsilla. The last shop tier opens at level 9. Before the final fights, buy every stamp Sadie sells. Fall Valley has another Sadie near the top. The achievement then unlocks when Dorsilla drops the No-Eyed Vampire Bat.

Master of Disguise

Required: use every costume's combat ability in battle at least once. Any party member can use them. That's ten costumes: Robot, Knight, Statue of Liberty, Space Warrior, Unicorn, Ninja, Pumpkin, French Fry, Vampire and Black Cat. The Grubbin is excluded because it can't fight. The Grubbins on Ice costumes (Pirate, Eyeball and Yeti) aren't needed.

The game doesn't track which abilities you've used, so tick them off yourself:

  • Robot: Missile Barrage
  • Knight: Guardian Shield
  • Statue of Liberty: Anthem
  • Space Warrior: Meteor Avalanche
  • Unicorn: My Pretty Panacea
  • Ninja: Kitsune Shroud
  • Pumpkin: All Hallows' Eve
  • French Fry: Salt Assault
  • Vampire: There's a Bat in My Hair
  • Black Cat: The Cat's Meow

If the achievement hasn't unlocked after all ten, use any ability you're unsure about again.

  • The Unicorn's My Pretty Panacea is a revive, but it still counts when nobody is knocked out. Just use it.
  • The Black Cat only arrives once the card book is complete. Do All Decked Out first, then wear it into a fight.
  • Swap costumes between fights and trigger each ability once its meter is full.
  • Finish this in the base game, because abilities used only in Grubbins on Ice may not count. If you finish the game with an ability still unused, choose Continue after the credits and use it in any fight.

Mask-O'-Raider

Required: all 25 quests in the notebook: 9 in the Suburbs, 9 in the Mall and 7 in Fall Valley. Story progress completes most of them. The ones people miss are the three Hide 'n' Seek quests, the three Bobbing for Apples quests, the six card trades and the costume contest. Check the quest log for every area before you climb to Dorsilla. The game also counts the final fights as a quest. If you finish missing quests after the credits and the achievement doesn't unlock, beat Big Bones again to trigger the completion check.

Use this list to check the notebook:

  • Suburbs (9): Robot Repair, Programmed for Protection, Pie for the Putterpam, The Patriot's Party, These Tombstones Aren't Styrofoam, Suburbs Bobbing for Apples, Auburn Pines Hide 'n' Seek, This Card Is So Rare, Suburbs Collect 'em All.
  • Mall (9): Tickets For Treats, Earn Your Monster Slayer Badge, The Mall-O-Rail is Broken, The Dark Side of the Mall, Extreme Costume Challenge, This Card Is Rarer, Mall Collect 'em All, Mall Bobbing For Apples, Mall Hide 'n' Seek.
  • Fall Valley (7): The Original Costume Quest, All's Fair That Ends Fare, Children of the High Fructose Corn Syrup, Fall Valley Hide 'n' Seek, Fall Valley Bobbing For Apples, This Card Is The Rarest, Fall Valley Collect 'em All.

Dorsilla and Big Bones

Before you climb to Dorsilla, finish every quest, the card book, all stamps you can buy and every costume ability. Don't count on a cleanup window between Dorsilla and Big Bones. If you do miss something, choose Continue after the credits. It reloads you before the final boss, and the sarcophagi at the bottom of the hill still lead to every area.

Dorsilla traps kids in vines and splits into decoys, so keep hitting the real one. Afterward, keep talking to her to start the Big Bones fight.

Sweet Justice

Beat Big Bones and the achievement unlocks as the ending begins. If anything above is still unfinished, choose Continue after the credits and clean it up. Then beat Big Bones again if Mask-O'-Raider hasn't unlocked yet.

Grubbins on Ice

Starting the DLC

Finish everything in the base game first, then go back to the main menu.

  1. Choose Continue Game. If it offers Grubbins on Ice, pick it. This is the recommended carryover path.
  2. If Continue just resumes the base game, go back and choose Start New Game. Then pick Grubbins on Ice on the second menu. This doesn't guarantee your costumes and stamps carry over, so only use it if Continue doesn't offer the DLC.
  3. Never pick Costume Quest on the Start New Game menu. That starts a new campaign and can erase your base save.
  4. If Grubbins on Ice doesn't appear in either menu, close and relaunch the game. If it's still missing, reinstall the add-on before choosing anything.

Your three kids start at level 10. Once the DLC begins, open the costume and stamp menus to confirm your base-game collection came with you. If it didn't, return to the main menu and try the other path.

The first fight, against three Repugiarchs, is meant to be lost. Winning it is possible and only gives bonus XP. The story carries on the same way either way.

Grubbin Village and the Pirate

Jeepers Peepers

The Eyeball pattern is in a coffin near the start, behind Truman's spot. The Crepe Paper is in a coffin after you drop through a gap in the fence, and the Track Suit is in the cave below. The last piece, the Wire Mesh, is in a three-coffin cave you reach by zipline. That means you need the Pirate first.

The Pirate pattern comes from Cranston in the Secret Cave. Philthie, the Grubbin blocking the lower-left ramp, steps aside once you've talked to Cranston. The Eyepatch is in a coffin past him. The Plastic Hook comes from Van Horn and the Newspaper is in a coffin past Fangus. Its exploration ability is the zipline, and building it finishes Hook, Line & Freethinker. Then grab the Wire Mesh and craft the Eyeball.

Playin' Hooky

Ride 5 different ziplines with the Pirate hook. They're on the story path: the first is to the left of the river at the start, the next crosses the green river, then come the one up to Hairyette, the one to the Sacred Trowbog Caves of Confusion, and the one out of the cave toward the Yeti. Two more come later, so this can't really be missed.

  • Grubbin Lovin': Hairyette is across the fence by the pool's buffet table. Climb the raised path near Barfolomew and zipline over. Wear the French Fry and use Lure, then lead her back up the ramp and through the breakable wall that drops you to the hotel. From there, walk her to Grubby, the Grubbin Elder. Fights break the lure, so avoid enemies on the way. The food prompt can take a moment to appear.
  • Save the Escapees: six hidden kids. Truman is behind plants left of the river at the start, and Shawn is under the raised path in the Grubbin area. The other four are below.
  • Nutty Dumdums: the first house in the Grubbin Elder's village, next to the pagoda, gives one. Skully in the final area needs a spare. No single fixed source for the second copy is documented. Players who fought every house and every roaming guard on the way already had a spare when they reached him, so don't skip fights in Repugia, and check the book as you go. Guides report that every fight pays out at least one card, so further fights are the only documented recovery.
  • Stamps: Shady replaces Sadie in the DLC and turns up three times with growing stock. DLC stamps aren't needed for any achievement.

Trowbog Village and the Caves

Tome of the Trowbogs: talk to the Trowbog Elder, then to Ackley at the upper-left gate, and zipline across to the Caves of Confusion. Each room has a symbol on the floor, and you leave by the exit marked with the same symbol. In dark rooms, use the Space Warrior's Glow to reveal it. Some symbols sit under bones or candy, so clear those away. Use the Knight's Shield to pass falling debris. A wrong exit only sends you back to the cave entrance, and rooms you've cleared stay cleared. The Tome is in a coffin deep in the cave, past a Repugiarch fight. Bring it back to the Elder to open the next gate. Raha, the third escapee, is in the southernmost part of the Trowbog area.

This Card Is ULTRA Rare: Glob, a Trowbog just past the gate that opens after Grubbin Lovin', wants a spare Cuttin' Candy. The first house south of the bridge gives one. The spare comes from the fight house just east of Glob, the one with blue-and-white balloons outside, on the right above Shady's stand. The house on the left only gives candy. Hand it over as soon as you have two.

Short Stack

South of the Trowbog Elder, boost over the ramps and drop through the bushes to the ledge below. You can use the Eyeball's Survey to spot the drop. A cave there holds an unexpected visitor, and the achievement unlocks as you walk in.

Crestwailer Village and the Yeti

The Case of the Missing Yeti: the Crestwailer Elder won't open the gate until the Yeti shows up for Yeti Fest. Take the ice path above the Crestwailer area into the Yeti's cave. The Crestwailer inside gives you the Yeti costume outright, and its Abominable Armor shields the whole party for a turn. Walk out of the cave wearing it to trigger a short scene. Then zipline back and talk to the Crestwailer Elder, which completes the quest and opens the gate. Kat is behind a house on the right side of the Crestwailer area. Teddy is behind a rock in the cave you reach by dropping through the fence gap from that area.

  • Bobbing for Eyeballs: Blob runs it in Crestwailer village, which opens after the Tome of the Trowbogs. Rounds need 35, 40 and 45 points. Yellow eyeballs are worth 3 and white are worth 1. Avoid the pink ones. Round three gives the Wiggly Woozers card.

Final Area and Araxia

Maximus, the sixth escapee, is behind a large rock next to Skully. Repugia Collect 'em All: Skully wants a spare Nutty Dumdums. Viva Repugia! finishes once every house in Repugia has been trick-or-treated, which opens the final gate.

Before you fight Araxia, check that all nine Repugia quests are complete and that Short Stack and Playin' Hooky have unlocked. Loading the save and backtracking after the ending has been reported, but it isn't confirmed on current Xbox, so the safe route is to finish everything first. If you beat Araxia early anyway, try Continue from the main menu. If it puts you back in Repugia, finish the remaining quests and beat Araxia again for Revolutionary Hero (untested).

If you're still missing a spare for Glob or Skully, work through these in order. Check the book after each step.

  1. Trick-or-treat every Repugia house, including the three combat houses near Skully. Viva Repugia! needs this anyway.
  2. Fight every roaming guard and patrolling enemy you haven't beaten yet.
  3. Only then go back to earlier Repugia areas and fight respawned roaming enemies. Respawns happen, but it isn't documented how many times or whether every card can drop from them, so treat this as a last resort. House fights never repeat.

Birdbrain Beatdown

You can't damage Big Bones. Attack Araxia until he flies up out of reach, then hit him three times to knock him into Big Bones. Do that three times to win. Big Bones hits the whole party and his attacks can't be blocked, so the Yeti's party shield and healing are worth more here than raw damage. Don't waste physical specials while Araxia is airborne.

Revolutionary Hero

Required: all nine Repugia quests. Master of Disguise only needs the ten base-game abilities, so the DLC costume abilities are optional. The nine quests are Viva Repugia!, Hook, Line & Freethinker, Grubbin Lovin', Tome of the Trowbogs, The Case of the Missing Yeti, Save the Escapees, Bobbing for Eyeballs, This Card Is ULTRA Rare and Repugia Collect 'em All. If they're all done, it unlocks alongside Birdbrain Beatdown when Araxia falls.
