Guide contents

Before You Start

The Xbox list (Xbox Series X and S, plus Windows via Xbox Play Anywhere, released June 2025) has 69 achievements worth 1,095 Gamerscore: 50 base-game achievements for 1,000 Gamerscore, 6 for Echoes of the Fallen and 13 for The Rising Tide, all worth 5 Gamerscore each. The Complete Edition includes both DLCs; owners of the standard edition need to buy them separately. Everything is offline and single-player, and nothing is currently unobtainable.

The Plan in Short

  • Playthrough 1, any difficulty: play the story, do every side quest and hunt from the second time skip onward, collect all trophy-relevant curiosities, clear the seven Chronolith trials, and pick up most combat achievements as each Eikon unlocks.
  • Playthrough 2, New Game+ on Final Fantasy mode: rush the story to the final main quest, do the four side quests that unlock the DLCs, then play Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide on that save so the two Final Fantasy mode DLC bosses count.
  • Finish on the NG+ save: Kairos Gate, ability point farming for the two mastery achievements, then the final boss for Fantasy, Finally.
  • Minimum playthroughs: two. Do not play the DLC on your first save unless you want to repeat it; Omega and Leviathan must both be beaten on Final Fantasy mode.

Missables and Points of No Return

Very little can be lost.

  • The only realistic way to lose an achievement is to sell materials needed for Gotterdammerung (Ragnarok, Orichalcum, Darksteel, Primitive Battlehorn) or for the Omega Weapon (its DLC boss materials). Sell nothing from your materials or weapons and both are safe. Even if you slip up, Gotterdammerung can still be made later in New Game+.
  • The game has two time skips. Side content from Clive's teens and twenties counts for nothing; the trophy-relevant side content all comes after the second time skip, which happens at the end of The Dame.
  • After the final boss, the game asks you to make a clear save. Loading it puts you back before the last main quest with full free roam, all side quests, hunts and Chronoliths. Linear story areas can be replayed through Stage Replay at the Arete Stone in the Hideaway.
  • Final Fantasy mode is only available as New Game+ from a clear save. A save started on Final Fantasy mode cannot be switched back to an easier mode.

Difficulty, Rings and Saves

  • Your first playthrough can be on Story Focused or Action Focused. Difficulty only matters for the three Final Fantasy mode achievements.
  • The Timely accessories do not block achievements, including on Final Fantasy mode. Ring of Timely Evasion (automatic dodging) and Ring of Timely Strikes (automatic combos) are in your inventory from the start; Ring of Timely Assistance arrives with Torgal. Ring of Timely Evasion is the big one.
  • Several combat achievements need precise timing, and the auto rings can get in the way. Take Ring of Timely Strikes off for anything involving Zantetsuken, and take Ring of Timely Evasion off for parry and block achievements.
  • Every combat achievement excludes the Hall of Virtue (the training area in the Hideaway). Do them in real fights.
  • The game has plenty of manual save slots. Keep a manual save before the second time skip and keep your clear save in its own slot forever.

Current Status

As of October 2026, all 69 achievements are obtainable. HISTORICALLY REPORTED BUG: at the Xbox launch in June 2025, some players saw achievements unlock very late or in bunches after story progress; players reported improvement after the launch-window updates, though no official note confirms a fix. If one seems stuck, keep playing for a while before redoing anything, and make sure the game is up to date.

Playthrough 1: Clive's Teens and Twenties

Nothing in this part of the game counts toward the collectible achievements, so do not spend time on side quests here. What you can do is bank several easy combat achievements, the first story unlocks, and an early shot at the no-damage boss.

The Prologue (Clive's Teens)

Continue the story. There are no achievements in the opening chapters.

A Chance Encounter to Headwind

Clive's twenties begin with A Chance Encounter. You get the Phoenix abilities, the Hideaway with its blacksmith, and Torgal.

Awoken

Unlocks automatically at the start of A Chance Encounter.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeift

With the Phoenix Eikon selected, use Phoenix Shift to warp toward an enemy, then immediately press attack for a Shift Strike or magic for a Shift Shot. Fifteen total, across any number of fights, so it comes almost automatically from normal play.

Punisher

A Punish is the stab Clive performs on a downed enemy, often automatically when you attack a knocked-down foe. Ten total; this arrives on its own.

Dressed to the Fives

The blacksmith opens during Hide, Hideaway. Crafting or upgrading any five pieces of gear counts, and the crafting tutorial gives you your first. Craft freely whenever new recipes appear, but never sell materials.

You Can Pet the Dog

Torgal joins during Fanning Embers. Once you have been shown his commands, walk up to him and pet him when the prompt appears. Five pets, which can be done back to back in one spot.

A Fine Hound

Order Torgal to Sic just as his attack will connect for a Precision Sic. Five total, and this usually comes naturally. Do not equip Ring of Timely Assistance if you want to time these yourself.

You're Not the Boss of Me

Required: defeat an eligible boss without Clive taking any damage. Only certain bosses count, and earning it also gives a Medal of Valour curiosity.

The first eligible boss is Midnight Raven at the end of the Greatwood in Fanning Embers. Many story bosses do not count, so stick to the confirmed targets below. If no Medal of Valour appears after a clean fight, that boss is not eligible.

  • Make a manual save before Midnight Raven, equip Ring of Timely Evasion, and avoid Lunge, Phoenix Shift and aerial attacks, which can interrupt the auto dodge. Reload if you are hit.
  • If it does not happen here, the War Panther in Kostnice right after the second time skip is a short, easy alternative.
  • It is not missable: Stage Replay at the Arete Stone counts, and later in the game you can return to the Greatwood with far stronger gear.

With Great Power

Unlocks automatically at the end of Headwind, after the Benedikta fight.

Wings of Change to Buried Memories

Garuda's abilities arrive at the start of Wings of Change. Fatal Attraction can be done right away; Never Coming Down needs ability points spent first, so do it as soon as you can afford it. Any later open-world fight works too.

Fatal Attraction

With Garuda selected, jump and use Deadly Embrace to pull an enemy into the air, then kill it before it lands. The killing blow can come from any attack. Five total. Weak enemies in groups make this easy; if an enemy survives the combo, repeat until one dies in the air.

Never Coming Down

Required: land Gouge, Wicked Wheel and Rook's Gambit before Clive touches the ground.

  • Buy Rook's Gambit (about 120 ability points) and master Wicked Wheel (about 1,525 ability points in total). A mastered ability can be slotted on another Eikon, which is the only way to equip all three at once.
  • Put Gouge and Rook's Gambit on Garuda and Wicked Wheel on Phoenix.
  • Against a large, durable enemy, jump, use Wicked Wheel, swap to Garuda, use Rook's Gambit, then Gouge. Each ability only has to land one hit.

The Bighorn below the cliff west of the Three Reeds obelisk in Rosaria is an ideal target here and for several later achievements. If that area is not open to you yet, any big enemy works.

Acceptance

Unlocks automatically at the end of Buried Memories.

The Meaning of Life to The Dame

Semi-Prime (Limit Break) unlocks at the start of The Meaning of Life.

Made to Be Broken

Fill the Limit Break gauge, activate it, and defeat enemies while it is active. It counts when Semi-Prime Finish appears on screen. Twenty total, across any number of activations and fights. Pop Limit Break against groups of weak enemies and this finishes quickly.

Packing Heat

Required: two Heatwave Counters in one battle. Buy and equip Heatwave from the Phoenix tree. Trigger Heatwave just as a ranged projectile is about to hit you; a Heatwave Counter message confirms it. It does not work against melee attacks, and starting too early only gives a normal Heatwave.

Any enemy with a slow ranged attack works. The flower-like Blossom enemies west of the Three Reeds obelisk in Rosaria spit slow projectiles and are the standard spot once you can reach them. Keep Torgal busy healing so he does not kill them. If you leave this until late, extra party members can end fights before you get two counters, so do it while Torgal is your only companion.

Before the Church East of Moore

At the end of The Dame, the objective at the church east of Moore triggers the second time skip. You cannot return to Clive's twenties, and the old Hideaway and its side quests are gone, but your inventory, level and the merchant and blacksmith stock all carry forward. Nothing achievement-related is lost here. Make a manual save before going in if you want a copy of this period, then continue.

Playthrough 1: Clive's Thirties

From here on, everything counts. Renown from main quests, side quests and hunts feeds Careful Whisper, and most side quests are needed for curiosities, letters and areas. The route below does side content in the window where it appears, which keeps your level high and avoids a huge end-game list.

The Crystals' Curse

Lawless

Unlocks automatically at the end of The Crystals' Curse.

Cid the Outlaw

Ramuh's abilities arrive at the start of this quest. The War Panther at the end of Kostnice is a good no-damage target if You're Not the Boss of Me is still locked.

I Am the Thunder

With Ramuh selected, use Blind Justice to enter its slow targeting mode, mark enemies, and release. Each lightning ball discharged counts. Fifty total, and it builds quickly if you use Blind Justice in most fights from now on.

Rod to Redemption

Required: the same Lightning Rod must be struck by an enemy three times before it disappears. Buy and equip Lightning Rod from the Ramuh tree. Place it between you and a charging enemy and stand behind it. The Bighorn west of the Three Reeds obelisk charges straight through it repeatedly.

Home, Sweet Home

Collectibles 1 collectible
  • The Hideaway — Pre-filled as soon as the Hideaway opens; nothing to do.

The new Hideaway opens with Clive's chambers, the Wall of Memories, the reading table and the Tub and Crown.

  • Interact with the Wall of Memories now and whenever you receive a new trophy-relevant curiosity. The Oath arrives automatically at the start of Cid the Outlaw.
  • Read letters at the reading table regularly. They are the start points for several side quests.

Eureka

Required: spend 36,000 gil at the Tub and Crown, the pub beside Charon's Toll in the Hideaway. The bar sells expensive rounds, so the fastest way is to save, then buy four of the most expensive rounds in a row. Reloading the save afterward gets your gil back. You probably cannot afford it yet; come back once you are holding 40,000 gil.

The Gathering Storm and Release

Do Caulk & Bawl when Otto offers it, then continue through Dark Clouds Gather and Release. The Ahriman encountered during Release is your first notorious mark.

After Release, speaking with Gav unlocks the Hunt Board and the Patron's Whisper reward shop.

  • Side quests: The White-Winged Wonder at Martha's Rest and The Fruits of Her Labors.
  • Hunts: The Angel of Death in Claireview and Belphegor at The Broken Hilt near Eastpool.

When You Ride Alone

Complete The White-Winged Wonder at Martha's Rest. It rewards Ambrosia's Tack, one of the 22 curiosities. Summon Ambrosia in the open world and climb on to unlock this.

Think, Mark!

Defeat ten notorious marks. Hunts appear on the Hunt Board as the story and side quests unlock them, and doing each batch as it appears gets you this around Out of the Shadow.

Hunter, Hunted

Required: clear all 32 hunts on the Hunt Board. Keep doing every hunt in the window where it appears; this guide lists each batch. The last few only appear during the final main quest, and one of them, the Kuza Beast, only spawns during the side quest Nobody's Tool. It unlocks when the final hunt is turned in.

Careful Whisper

Required: redeem every reward at the Patron's Whisper. Rewards unlock by total Renown, and redeeming does not spend it. There is a little more Renown in the game than you need, but in practice you need nearly every main quest, side quest and hunt from here on. Talk to Desiree at the Patron's Whisper whenever you return to the Hideaway and claim what is available; the last rewards come during the final main quest.

Bloodlines to Here Be Monsters

Continue through Bloodlines and Black Light Burns. At the start of Here Be Monsters, the Hideaway has new work.

  • Side quests: Blacksmith's Blues and A Culinary Pilgrimage.
  • Hunt: Dozmare, added by Blacksmith's Blues.

Half Past Twilight

Required: craft Gotterdammerung at the blacksmith. The recipe comes from the four-part Blacksmith's Blues chain, which also gives the Ragnarok you need. The full recipe is Ragnarok x1, Orichalcum x3, Darksteel x2 and Primitive Battlehorn x1. Orichalcum comes from Atlas, Svarog and Gorgimera and the late side quests Duty Undying II and Under New Management II; Darksteel from Thanatos and the Prince of Death; the Battlehorn from Gobermouch. Selling any of these can block the craft on this playthrough. The first part starts now; the rest unlock after Letting Off Steam III, after Like Father, Like Daughter, and during Across the Narrow. You will be able to craft it during the final main quest.

Fire and Ice

Legacy

Unlocks automatically at the end of Fire and Ice.

After the Storm

New accessories go on sale in the Hideaway. Buy On Fortune and Heavens (bonus experience) and keep it equipped for the rest of the first playthrough so you are well leveled for Final Fantasy mode.

  • Side quests: The Root of the Problem (Morganbeard Extract, the first of four inventory upgrades) and Cut from the Cloth.
  • Hunts: Sekhret and Severian near Martha's Rest.
  • If you now have 40,000 gil, do Eureka.

With Two Ds

Required: all four consumable upgrades. They come from four side quests: The Root of the Problem, Weird Science, Please Sir, Can I Have Some Morbol, and Even Weirder Science. It unlocks with the last one, in Across the Narrow.

Capital Punishment

Twilight Rose

Unlocks automatically at the end of Capital Punishment.

Bolts from the Blue and Getting to Work

Titan's abilities arrive at the start of Bolts from the Blue.

  • Hunt: the Flan Prince at Hawk's Cry Cliff.
  • After Getting to Work: Do No Harm and The Weight of Command.

Untouchable

With Titan selected, hold the feat button just before an attack lands to Titanic Block it. A precision block message confirms it. Ten total across any fights. Take Ring of Timely Evasion off, because auto dodging stops the block from happening.

Beat Rocking Blocks

Required: complete the full three-punch Titanic Counter twice in one battle. After a successful Titanic Block, press attack to throw the three counter punches; the third must land. Slow, heavy-hitting enemies such as the Bighorn give you time to do two in one fight.

Riddle of the Sands and Follow the Crystals

  • Hunt: Fastitocalon in the Velkroy Desert.
  • After Follow the Crystals: Carving Out a Niche and Hot Water at the Dalimil Inn.

Into the Darkness

From Stone to Sand

Unlocks automatically at the end of Into the Darkness.

Out of the Shadow and Letting Off Steam

A big window.

  • Hunts: Soul Stingers, Grimalkin, The Nine of Knives and Atlas. Atlas is a level 45 mark; leave him for later if he is too strong.
  • After speaking with Otto again: For Great Justice and Use Your Loaf.
  • After Letting Off Steam III, talk to Mid twice. New letters open Payback (Cid's Goblet), A Bone to Pick and Blacksmith's Blues II, and Mid also offers Weird Science, which adds the Bomb King hunt.

The Pen Is Mightier

Open ten letters at the reading table in Clive's chambers. If you read each new letter as it arrives, this unlocks around the letters Mid triggers after Letting Off Steam III. If not, keep reading; there are far more than ten in the game.

Onward and Blood from the Stones

Collectibles 1 collectible
  • Dhalmekia: The Steps of the Forgotten — Visited during the side quest Live and Let Live.

  • Side quest: Get Cart.
  • After Blood from the Stones: Bearer of Good News, Onward to Discovery and Live and Let Live, all in Boklad.

The More You Know

Required: raise Harpocrates' knowledge level to 5. His level reflects overall progress and updates when you talk to him in the Hideaway. If you have done everything so far, this is the earliest point it can unlock. If he is not level 5 yet, talk to him again after more side content; he stays in the Hideaway after the story.

Fire in the Sky

Twin Flames

Unlocks automatically at the end of Fire in the Sky.

Chronolith trials can be challenged from this point on, each with its own Eikon. If you want Trial Run early, the Phoenix trial at Greensheaves near Martha's Rest is available now; otherwise the full sweep comes at the end of the game, where it is easier.

Things Fall Apart

Bahamut's abilities arrive at the start of this quest.

  • Hunts: The Ten of Clubs, The Mageth Brothers and Svarog. Svarog is level 50; he can wait until the final main quest.
  • The three sub-quests can be done in any order; The Flames of War gives the Guardians Scarf curiosity.
  • After talking with Otto about the Krozjit Echoes: Smooth Like Butler (from a letter), An Eye for an Eye (Continental Censer), Not to Be Outdone and On Balance.

100 Mfps

With Bahamut selected, use Wings of Light to start charging Megaflare, let the gauge reach level 2 or higher, then release it. Every hit counts toward 100, across any number of uses and fights.

Such Dodge, So Mega

Required: three precision dodges during a single Megaflare charge. First upgrade Wings of Light so the charge can go past level 2; each precision dodge raises the level by one and dodges stop counting once it is fully charged. Start charging next to a slow enemy such as the Bighorn and dodge three attacks right away, doing the dodges manually. A Megaflare dodge message confirms each one, and the achievement unlocks on the third without releasing the Megaflare. Dodges made automatically by Ring of Timely Evasion are not confirmed to count, so take it off for this.

Cloak and Dagger

  • At the start: Bad Blood.
  • After the meeting in Tabor: Skin Trade and Carved in Stone, plus The Pack hunt. Carved in Stone answers: Guardians of the crystal; Wanderers of the golden plains; Children of the hunters, now tillers of the land.
  • After the cutscene at the Gilded Path obelisk: For Great Justice II (the Hanged Man Signboard), Rekindling the Flame and Trading Places.
  • After For Great Justice II: the Holy Trumpitour hunt in the Lostwing cellar passage.

And They Opened Up My Mind

Required: all six signboards. Each is a side-quest reward: For Great Justice II, Rekindling the Flame II, Trading Places II, Lines in the Sand II, Duty Undying II and Under New Management II. The first comes now and the last three during the final main quest. The signboards also count toward For the Hoard.

Evenfall to Like Father, Like Daughter

Collectibles 1 collectible
  • Dhalmekia: Dravozd — Reached during Blacksmith's Blues III; its obelisk is often missed.

  • Hunt: Dread Comet in The Jaw.
  • After Like Father, Like Daughter: Tears of Mercy, Blacksmith's Blues III and Please Sir, Can I Have Some Morbol, which adds the Carrot hunt.
  • After Tears of Mercy, talk to Tarja in the Hideaway infirmary for the Medicine Chest curiosity. There is no quest marker for this, so it is easy to forget.
  • Blacksmith's Blues III takes you to Dravozd; touch that obelisk, since it is easy to miss for Here Be Rosfields.

Full Steam and Through the Maelstrom

The Promise

Unlocks automatically at the end of Through the Maelstrom.

Across the Narrow

Shiva's abilities arrive at the start of this quest, along with a large batch of side quests.

  • Self Determination (from the Captain Dorys letter), Blacksmith's Blues IV (Gotterdammerung recipe and Ragnarok), Even Weirder Science, Under New Management, Rekindling the Flame II (Martha's Rest Signboard), Lines in the Sand, Trading Places II (Crimson Caravans Signboard) and Duty Undying.
  • After visiting the infirmary: the Gorgimera hunt in the Velkroy Desert and Phoenix, Heal Thyself from Vivian.

With Two Ds unlocks when Even Weirder Science is done.

Oh, Snap!

With Shiva selected, Shiva's Cold Snap replaces the dodge. Time it so you dodge just as an attack lands, and a Permafrost message appears. Ten total; the same enemy can be frozen repeatedly, so a slow enemy like the Bighorn finishes this in one fight.

Cold-blooded

Required: kill three or more frozen enemies at the same moment. Buy and equip Diamond Dust. Find a group of weak enemies, such as the wolves south of the Royal Meadows obelisk, and soften them up. Freeze at least three at once with a Permafrost from Cold Snap, then finish all of them with one Diamond Dust while they are still frozen. If one survives, fast travel to the obelisk to reset the group and try again.

Footfalls in Ash

  • Hunt: Pandemonium on The Shadow Coast. The Masamune sword is in a chest next to him.

The Last King

A Vessel Complete

Unlocks automatically at the end of The Last King.

Brotherhood

Odin's abilities arrive at the start of this quest, and Waloed opens up.

  • Side quest: Laid to Rest.
  • Hunts: Gobermouch (the Primitive Battlehorn), Agni, Bygul, Thanatos (Darksteel) and Terminus.

Every Damn Sinew

With Odin selected, activate Arm of Darkness to swap to Odin's blade. Hitting enemies fills the Zantetsuken gauge; once it is at level 2 or higher, hold attack to release Zantetsuken. Five total. Remove Ring of Timely Strikes, which fires Zantetsuken too early.

Fistful of Steel

Required: three Steel Counters in one battle. With Arm of Darkness active, parry an attack by striking into it as it lands, then attack again immediately; Steel Counter appears on screen. Remove Ring of Timely Evasion, which dodges instead of letting you parry. A slow melee enemy with no ranged attacks, such as an ogre or the Bighorn, is the safest target, and Will-o'-the-Wykes absorbs mistakes.

Streets of Madness

Ashes to Ashes

Unlocks automatically at the end of Streets of Madness.

Back to Their Origin: The Last Side Quests

Collectibles 2 collectibles
  • Waloed: Balmung Dark — Visited during the side quest Nobody's Tool.

  • Waloed: Mikkelburg — Revealed during the side quest Duty Undying II.

The world is fully open and the final batch of side content appears. The game warns you before the final main quest; ignore that until everything below is done.

  • Speak to Jill twice; the second time she gives you the Velvet Handkerchief. Her letters lead to More Than Words (Charred Sparring Sword) and An Inconvenient Truth (Scholar's Bonnet).
  • After An Inconvenient Truth: A Tail to Tell (Stolas Quill) and the Gizamaluk hunt.
  • From the Hideaway: Litany of Errors, Aiming High (Model Airship), Trial and Error, then Silver Linings (Winter Mead), Nobody's Tool (which spawns the Kuza Beast hunt during the quest), Where There's a Will (Rusted Battlehelm), then Priceless (Snow Daisy Garland), and Three's Company (The Triunity Accord).
  • Elsewhere: Lines in the Sand II (Briar's Kiss Signboard), Duty Undying II (Clayhearth Signboard and Mikkelburg, one of the last map areas most players reveal), and Under New Management II (Veil Signboard).
  • More Than Words and Priceless also take you to places that count for Here Be Rosfields, and Nobody's Tool reveals Balmung Dark.
  • New hunts after those quests: the Behemoth King in Vidargraes after Nobody's Tool, and the Knight of the Splendent Heart and Prince of Death in the Royal Meadows after Under New Management II.
  • Finish any hunts you postponed, such as Atlas, Svarog and Gorgimera.

When the signboard quests are done, And They Opened Up My Mind unlocks. When all 32 hunts are done, Hunter, Hunted unlocks, and you should now have the Renown to claim the last Patron's Whisper rewards for Careful Whisper.

If you do not have the Medicine Chest yet (it needs Tears of Mercy done), talk to Tarja in the Hideaway infirmary now. If she has nothing for you, finish the remaining side quests and check again.

Craft Gotterdammerung as soon as you hold Ragnarok x1, Orichalcum x3, Darksteel x2 and Primitive Battlehorn x1. That is Half Past Twilight, and it makes the Chronoliths much easier.

Back to Their Origin: Chronoliths and the Wall of Memories

Chronolith trials open after Fire in the Sky, but they are much easier now. There are seven, one per Eikon, each with three rooms of enemies and a boss against a timer. Earn time back with combos and Eikon abilities. Clearing all seven gives The Circle of Malius, the last of the 22 curiosities.

  • Phoenix: Greensheaves, near Martha's Rest.
  • Garuda: the Krozjit Echoes in Dhalmekia.
  • Ramuh: Norvent Valley, by Caer Norvent River Gate in Sanbreque.
  • Titan: the northern Velkroy Desert.
  • Bahamut: Cape Orsiere in the Royal Meadows.
  • Shiva: The Angry Cape near Eistla in Waloed.
  • Odin: the Badbach Conservatory in Vidargraes.

Easiest setup: switch to Story Focused, equip Gotterdammerung, master the abilities of the Eikon the trial uses, wear Ring of Timely Evasion and Ring of Timely Strikes, and use Limit Break in each third wave. For Odin's trial, remove Ring of Timely Strikes and wipe each wave with a level 5 Zantetsuken, which needs Arm of Darkness mastered. Trials can be replayed from the Arete Stone.

Trial Run

Unlocks when you finish your first Chronolith trial, boss included.

For the Hoard

Required: the 22 curiosities displayed on the Wall of Memories, not every curiosity in the game. Orchestrion rolls, shop purchases and the many other curiosities do not count; only items whose description says they are displayed in Clive's chambers do. Once you have them all, interact with the Wall of Memories in Clive's chambers to trigger it. The 22 are:

  • Story: The Oath and Guardians Scarf.
  • Side quests: Ambrosia's Tack, Martelle Apples, Cid's Goblet, Continental Censer, Charred Sparring Sword, Scholar's Bonnet, Stolas Quill, Model Airship, Winter Mead, Rusted Battlehelm, Snow Daisy Garland and The Triunity Accord.
  • The six signboards.
  • Medicine Chest from Tarja after Tears of Mercy, and The Circle of Malius from the Chronoliths.

If the Wall shows an empty spot, compare it against this list.

It's Over 50,000

Required: deal 50,000 damage to an enemy during one stagger, as Clive rather than as Ifrit. Strong late-game abilities make this simple: against a sturdy enemy, break its stagger gauge, then spend Limit Break and your biggest abilities while it is staggered. A level 5 Zantetsuken followed by Gigaflare is the classic way. Many players get it naturally by now, and it is guaranteed to come in New Game+ at the latest.

Yes, Eikon

Master every ability and the feat of one Eikon. Clive's general skills in the middle of the tree do not count. Phoenix is the cheapest, and you will likely have enough ability points by now; if you have already mastered most of one Eikon for the Chronoliths, finish that one.

Here Be Rosfields

Required: the achievement tracks 68 areas. The community list used in the Collectibles section (the Hideaway, 15 in Sanbreque, 19 in Rosaria, 22 in Dhalmekia and 11 in Waloed) matches that total and two independent guides agree on it, but the game does not show which named label each count belongs to, so treat it as a map-coverage checklist. The real test is that no grey coverage remains on any local map. An area counts once its part of the local map is filled in by walking into it; obelisks, white map markers and Chronolith stones do not count on their own. Areas from Clive's teens and twenties, the DLC regions and the final boss area are not part of the 68, and everything needed is still reachable from your clear save. The checklist is in the Collectibles section at the end of this guide.

Doing every main and side quest from the second time skip onward reveals nearly everything. Several areas come from specific side quests: Dravozd from Blacksmith's Blues III, Balmung Dark from Nobody's Tool, Mikkelburg from Duty Undying II (one of the last areas most players reveal), and players report that the places More Than Words and Priceless take you also count.

Whether the Xbox achievement shows a numeric progress count is not confirmed, so do not rely on one. If it has not unlocked by now, check these spots in order:

  1. The Weeping Rent, the short corridor on the road northeast of Lostwing toward Claireview. The story crosses it in a cutscene.
  2. The Edge of Infinity in far south-east Waloed. Walk around the obelisk, or fast travel to it if you never have.
  3. Mann's Hill, a small alcove in southern Rosaria.
  4. Vidargraes: walk back across the canyon threshold toward Barnabas's tower if the story cut away before you crossed it.
  5. The Royal Meadows obelisk past Moore, the obelisk west of Caer Norvent, and Dravozd.
  6. The drawbridge area at Riddock's Jump between Auldhyl and Sorrowise.
  7. Zoom in on all four region maps and trace every road and edge for thin grey slivers; a path that fades out instead of ending cleanly is unexplored.

HISTORICALLY REPORTED BUG: in 2023 some PlayStation players stuck at 67 of 68 believed their maps were complete. Most eventually found an overlooked spot. A few reported it unlocking only after fast traveling to an obelisk they had unlocked but never traveled to, or after revisiting side quest areas such as Torgal's island from More Than Words; these are anecdotal, not confirmed fixes. No current Xbox reports of a confirmed bug were found.

Also make sure the following are done before the final quest: Eureka, The More You Know, You're Not the Boss of Me (Stage Replay of the Greatwood is easy now), and any combat achievement still open from the earlier windows.

Before you leave, check every shop for accessories you want, and do not sell materials or the Timely rings.

Of Gods and Men

Falling Star

Unlocks automatically after the final battle and credits. When the game offers a clear save, make it in a new manual slot and keep it. The New Game+ run starts from this save.

Playthrough 2: New Game+ on Final Fantasy Mode

Setting Up New Game+

From the title screen, choose New Game+, pick Final Fantasy mode, and load your clear save. Level and experience, abilities, gear, gil, ability points, crafting materials and potion upgrades carry over, so bring Gotterdammerung and all your materials. Story, quest and side-quest progress, side-quest rewards such as Ambrosia, hunts, map progress, the Wall of Memories and ordinary items reset. This save is locked to Final Fantasy mode.

Recommended accessories: Ring of Timely Evasion, On Fortune and Heavens, and a third of your choice. Once After the Storm is reached, buy two copies of The Wages of Warcraft, combine them at the blacksmith into The Wages of Warcraft II, and wear it for the rest of the run to speed up ability points. Check the blacksmith between main quests for new Final Fantasy mode gear, and keep your potion stock full.

Skip side content and cutscenes, with four exceptions. Square Enix lists all four as required to reach Priceless, which unlocks both DLCs, and quest progress from your first playthrough does not carry over:

  • Cut from the Cloth during After the Storm.
  • Phoenix, Heal Thyself during Across the Narrow.
  • Where There's a Will during Back to Their Origin.
  • Priceless, which follows Where There's a Will.

Racing to the Final Main Quest

Play through to Back to Their Origin, doing the four quests above when they appear. Stop there. Do not start the final main quest yet: both DLCs, Kairos Gate and the ability point farm all happen first, on this save, in this window.

Echoes of the Fallen

Once Back to Their Origin is underway and all four side quests are done, Charon in the Hideaway gives you a new objective. You can play this and The Rising Tide in either order; this guide does Echoes first because it is shorter.

Starting the Quest

A Crystal Darkly

Talk to Charon to start Echoes of the Fallen. It unlocks after the opening cutscene, when you are told to speak with Joshua.

The Road to the Spire

The Only Way Is Up

Follow the objectives through Port Isolde and the search areas, then to the sealed Fallen door in The Dim. Defeat the group there and it unlocks as you head into the Sagespire.

The Sagespire

Collectibles 6 collectibles
  • Escapement Bit — chest on the left after the first door and the next enemy group, before the following room.

    DLC

  • Nourishment Bit — chest on the right before the stairs in the room with two sets of three tubes, after Sigma and the lift.

    DLC

  • Bombardment Bit — automatic reward from Omicron.

    DLC

  • Disengagement Bit — chest just right of the door after the Assault Unit OGR fight.

    DLC

  • Assailment Bit — chest just left of the next door after Angra Mainyu, the elevator and one enemy group.

    DLC

  • Revivement Bit — automatic reward from Asterios.

    DLC

The Sagespire is a linear dungeon ending in Omega. Pick up the six Fallen bits in this order:

  1. Escapement Bit: after the first door and the next group of enemies, a chest on the left before you enter the following room.
  2. Nourishment Bit: after Sigma and the lift, in the room lined with two sets of three tubes, a chest on the right before the stairs.
  3. Bombardment Bit: automatic reward from Omicron, fought right after.
  4. Disengagement Bit: after the elevator and circular section that ends with the Assault Unit OGR, a chest just right of the next door.
  5. Assailment Bit: after Angra Mainyu, take the elevator and clear one group; a chest just left of the next door.
  6. Revivement Bit: automatic reward from Asterios, shortly after Angra Mainyu.

Bit Fit

Required: all six Fallen bits, a set of unique accessories: four from chests and two from required bosses, as listed above. It unlocks with the sixth. If you finish short, check your accessories against the list, then replay the Sagespire through Stage Replay at the Arete Stone (the far-right entry) to collect the missing chest.

OMG

Required: defeat Omega on Final Fantasy mode, which this save is. Learn its triangle and beam patterns in the first phase. Its late leaps and slams hit very hard on Final Fantasy mode, so keep Ring of Timely Evasion on and keep your distance during big wind-ups. At the end it plants itself in the middle of the arena; unload Limit Break and every ability to finish it before its attacks overwhelm you.

Repercussion

Unlocks when you report back to Charon in the Hideaway after the Sagespire, completing the quest.

Crafting the Omega Weapon

My Reward Is with Me

The DLC bosses give everything needed. Visit the blacksmith and craft it right away so nothing gets sold. The Omega Weapon needs a Fallen Enforcer, Omega Nodule, Living Tissue and Aqueous Humours; on this Final Fantasy mode save you can craft Omega Weapon Reforged instead from Fallen Enforcer Reforged, Flawless Nodule, Flawless Tissue and Flawless Humours. Either version counts.

The Rising Tide

The same four side quests, ending with Priceless, unlock The Rising Tide on this save. The quest is accepted in the Hideaway.

Into Mysidia

The Calm

Unlocks when you accept The Rising Tide quest.

Homecoming

Unlocks when you arrive in Mysidia.

Flow

Unlocks after the battle in which Clive gains Leviathan's abilities.

Supersoaker

Required: kill three or more enemies with Tidal attacks during the unlimited ammo window after a Quick Refill. Hitting them is not enough; they must die.

The battle where you first use Leviathan is ideal. The boss summons groups of smaller enemies; when your water runs low, do the Quick Refill timing prompt to get unlimited ammo for a few seconds, then shred three of the small enemies with Tidal attacks. If it does not happen there, Kairos Gate is full of groups.

Tideslinger

Land 300 Tidal attacks, across any fights. Leviathan's attacks hit several times per shot, so this comes quickly once you use Leviathan as your main Eikon.

Mysidia Before Leviathan

Six Mysidian side quests appear as the DLC story progresses before the Leviathan fight. Do them as they appear.

Flood

Unlocks after defeating the Timekeeper.

The End Can Wait

Complete ten Mysidian side quests. Eleven exist: six before Leviathan and five after. Do them all, and it unlocks on the tenth.

Leviathan

Thou Brakest the Head

Defeat Leviathan on Final Fantasy mode. This is the hardest story fight in the game, but checkpoints between phases refill your potions.

  • In the airborne opening phase, keep Ring of Timely Evasion on and pressure it with ranged attacks.
  • Its shield phase must be broken quickly. Open with your strongest burst and keep using abilities as they come back.
  • In the last phase, a giant water vortex chases you and kills on contact regardless of health. Keep moving sideways until it passes. The repeated shockwaves that follow are easiest to avoid by jumping.

Explain That

Unlocks after Leviathan is defeated and the cutscenes that follow.

After Leviathan

The remaining five Mysidian quests appear. Finish them for The End Can Wait.

Deus Ex

Return to the Hideaway after finishing The Rising Tide's main quest and interact with the Arete Stone. You receive Ultima's abilities and this unlocks.

Still Breathing

Complete the Trial by Water, the Chronolith at Languor Falls in northern Mysidia. Leviathan's abilities rack up bonus time easily. The final round is a Behemoth; stay at range and do not get caught in an ability animation when its meteors fall.

Kairos Gate

Kairos Gate unlocks at the Arete Stone once Ultima is yours.

Occasio Calva

Required: clear all 20 circles of Kairos Gate in a single run. You cannot use your gear or accessories, and you cannot save or reload mid-run; dying sends you back to the start. Circles 5, 10, 15 and 20 are Eikon fights, and the last, Odin, is the most dangerous. S ranks are not needed.

Kairos Gate on a Final Fantasy mode save runs at Final Fantasy difficulty, so expect hard hits.

  • The Timely boons, which work like the Timely rings, are free in the Boons menu. Take them; they only lower your score.
  • Spend the points you earn after each circle on Eikonic ability potency and defense first, then health and Boon potency.
  • Save boon points for the last five circles, and take the boon that saves you from a killing blow before the final circles.
  • Fight from range with Leviathan where possible, and use your wide area abilities to wipe groups.

Optional fallback if this walls you: on a save that is not on Final Fantasy mode, Kairos Gate runs at Action Focused difficulty. You can load your first playthrough's clear save, play The Rising Tide main quest there, and do Kairos Gate at that difficulty. It means replaying the DLC story, but every Final Fantasy mode achievement is already handled on the NG+ save.

Final Cleanup on the NG+ Save

Ability Point Farm

Two achievements need large ability point totals: Masterclass needs every base-game ability, feat and Clive skill at maximum, and A Most Worthy Vessel needs every Leviathan and Ultima ability. Two playthroughs and the DLC quests usually leave you short.

The best farm is the group of five Hyenas in Kritten Hollow, a short ride from the Ravenwit Walls obelisk in Waloed. With The Wages of Warcraft II equipped, one level 5 Zantetsuken kills them all for over 1,000 ability points. Fast travel back to Ravenwit Walls to respawn them and repeat; each loop takes around 90 seconds. Do not reset ability trees while you are finishing these off.

Masterclass

Required: every feat and ability from the base game's skill trees at maximum, including Clive's general skills in the centre. The DLC's Leviathan and Ultima abilities are not part of this. It unlocks when you buy the last upgrade.

A Most Worthy Vessel

Required: buy and master every Leviathan and Ultima ability. Ultima's are the expensive half. Keep farming Kritten Hollow until both trees are complete.

The Finale

Fantasy, Finally

Start the final main quest on this Final Fantasy mode save and beat the last boss. It unlocks after the credits. Keep Ring of Timely Evasion on, keep potions topped up, and use your strongest burst whenever a boss is staggered.

The Chronicler

Unlocks when you have every other base-game achievement. For most players it pops alongside Fantasy, Finally. If it does not, the missing one is usually Here Be Rosfields, For the Hoard, Careful Whisper or a combat achievement; load your clear save from either playthrough to finish it.

Troubleshooting

  • Combat achievements will not track in the Hall of Virtue.
  • If a precise achievement like Such Dodge, So Mega, Untouchable or Fistful of Steel is not counting, check your rings: auto dodge can replace a parry or block, and automatic dodges are not confirmed to count as Megaflare dodges. Do these manually.
  • If For the Hoard has not unlocked, interact with the Wall of Memories after getting the last curiosity.
  • If Here Be Rosfields is one area short, work through the checklist in the Here Be Rosfields section; The Weeping Rent and The Edge of Infinity are the usual culprits.
  • If you have no Medal of Valour after a no-damage fight, that boss is not eligible; use Midnight Raven or the War Panther, or Stage Replay.

Reference

This section holds a map-coverage checklist for Here Be Rosfields and the six Fallen bits for Bit Fit. The walkthrough tells you where the tricky ones are; ticking areas here is your own tracking and does not change your Xbox achievement progress.

Map Areas

68 in the game

This community-compiled list of 68 areas matches the Here Be Rosfields total, grouped by region. The game does not show which named label each count belongs to, so if you are stuck one short with everything ticked, look for remaining grey coverage on the local maps.
