Completion Overview

Firefighting Simulator - The Squad has 30 achievements worth 1,000 Gamerscore. Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and the Xbox Play Anywhere Windows version use the same Smart Delivery achievement list. There are no DLC achievement packs.

  • Minimum practical playthroughs: 1.
  • Missables: none. Missions remain replayable from the city map, so there is no story point of no return.
  • Difficulty achievements: none.
  • Online requirements: 4 achievements require multiplayer mission completions with at least one other human player. AI firefighters do not satisfy those four achievements.
  • Multiplayer is online co-op for 2-4 players; there is no local split-screen. Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S support cross-generation multiplayer, and Xbox and Microsoft Store PC players can invite each other as friends. Steam players can join Xbox or Microsoft Store PC players only through public session search. Console multiplayer requires an eligible Xbox multiplayer subscription.
  • CURRENTLY CONFIRMED UNOBTAINABLE: none as of 2026-10-14.
  • CURRENTLY CONFIRMED DISCONTINUED: none as of 2026-10-14. There are no current reports of the multiplayer achievements being broken, but public lobbies are very sparse in 2026. Arrange a partner, or a second account running the game at the same time on a separate device, before you start the multiplayer block; AI-filled slots do not count.
  • CURRENTLY COMMUNITY-FLAGGED / BUGGY: Tool Master. Good Preparation also has reports of delayed or inconsistent registration, so this route includes a safe tutorial procedure.
  • The two major grinds are 100,000 liters of water and 1,000 kilometers of driving. Human teammates share useful progress for both: their water usage contributes to your water total, and passengers receive driving-distance credit when another human drives.
  • Water and driving progress should be banked by successfully finishing the mission. Do not quit or intentionally fail after a long grind session.
  • Achievement registration: some players have had achievements fail to unlock despite completing the requirement. Confirm your first unlocks appear on your Xbox profile before starting any long grind (see Achievement Registration Check).

The 35-50 hour estimate depends heavily on squad size: the water and driving grinds shrink substantially with more human players, so a solo-heavy run lands at the top of that range or beyond.

There is no reason to clear the entire mission list. This route deliberately repeats the fastest useful jobs until every achievement requirement is finished.

Settings and Squad Setup

Before grinding, open Gameplay settings and turn Toggle Quench Input on. One press will then keep a hose flowing, which makes the water achievement dramatically easier. Quench Indicator with Numbers is also useful because it makes fire-marker progress easier to read.

Also set the distance unit to kilometers; the game defaults to miles, but the driving achievements count kilometers.

Arrange at least one human partner before the multiplayer section, because public sessions are rarely available. If you boost with your own second account, it must be signed in and running the game at the same time on a separate supported device (for example, a second console or a Microsoft Store PC); a second account on the same console does not work because there is no split-screen. A full four-player squad is strongly preferred for the water grind because all human water usage is shared. AI water usage does not count toward your total, although victims rescued by AI do count toward the rescue achievements.

For the driving grind, passengers in a human squad receive distance credit. Rotate drivers instead of forcing one person to handle the entire 1,000-kilometer requirement.

Intro and Training

Intro Mission

Follow the mandatory prompts, rescue the victim, take the hose, and extinguish the required garage fire. Finish the mission normally.

First Steps

This unlocks when the Intro Mission is completed.

Achievement Registration Check

Before going further, open your Xbox profile's achievement list for this game and confirm First Steps actually unlocked. Repeat the check after Firefighter Rookie. Do this now, not after hours of grinding.

If an achievement you clearly earned is missing, try these community-reported fixes in order. None is confirmed to work for everyone:

  • Open the Public Session Explorer from the game's menu and accept its terms, then restart the game.
  • Fully close and restart the game, then complete another short mission to see whether pending achievements pop.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the game. Your cloud save should resynchronize when you reinstall; confirm it has synced before playing, and do not delete saved data.

Good Preparation has its own tutorial-specific fix in the Training Facility section below.

Training Facility

Go to the Training Facility immediately after the intro and complete all 11 tutorials:

  • Dealing with Doors and Walls
  • Dealing with Windows
  • Circular Saw
  • Ladder
  • Fire Propagation and Growth Speed
  • Extinguishing Fires
  • Dealing with Smoke
  • Recognizing Back Drafts
  • Establishing Hoses
  • Squad Commands
  • Using Ladder Trucks

Follow every prompt instead of rushing to the apparent endpoint; several tutorials allow you to skip an interaction while still advancing, which is the main reason this achievement can fail to register.

Pay special attention to Extinguishing Fires. In the smoky second room, electrical sparks keep reigniting the fire: extinguish it, wait for the spark to reignite it, shut off the power box, and extinguish it again before moving on. Finish the ladder-truck tutorial completely as well.

Good Preparation

The achievement should unlock after the final tutorial is fully completed.

CURRENTLY COMMUNITY-FLAGGED / BUGGY — verified 2026-10-14: If it does not unlock, replay Extinguishing Fires first and make sure the spark, power-box shutdown, and second extinguish sequence all occur. If necessary, replay any tutorial you may have rushed or partially skipped, then return to the city map and restart the game before testing again. The achievement is still obtainable; this is a registration issue, not a discontinued requirement.

Fast Online Progression

Burning News: 50 Multiplayer Clears

Use Burning News in Downtown for the mandatory multiplayer block. Start an online session with at least one other human player (a separate person, or your own second account running at the same time on a separate device) and choose Deploy On Scene. The mission has no victims and only a small fire, so extinguish it with the nearby fire extinguishers and immediately replay the mission.

A clean clear takes about 30 seconds, which is much faster than mixing the online count into longer jobs. The same mission may be repeated for every multiplayer milestone.

Do all 50 multiplayer clears now. They also count toward the general mission-completion achievements, so this section handles most of the early progression at once.

Firefighter Rookie

Complete the first normal mission. Your first successful Burning News clear triggers this. Confirm it appears on your Xbox profile; if it does not, use the Achievement Registration Check fixes before continuing.

Part of the Team

Complete one multiplayer mission with at least one other human player. The achievement unlocks when that mission finishes. Bots alone do not count.

Firefighter

Complete 5 missions. Stay on Burning News until the fifth successful clear is recorded.

Lieutenant

Complete 10 missions. This unlocks at the end of the tenth successful mission.

Team Player

Complete 10 multiplayer missions with at least one other human player. The same Burning News mission can be repeated all 10 times.

Me and the Gang

Complete 30 multiplayer missions with at least one other human player. Keep repeating Burning News through the thirtieth successful multiplayer clear.

Captain Competent

Complete 50 missions. Because the multiplayer clears also count as ordinary mission completions, this should unlock on the fiftieth successful Burning News run if you followed the route directly.

You Are Not Alone – Ever!

Complete 50 multiplayer missions with at least one other human player. The achievement unlocks when the fiftieth qualifying mission finishes.

Do not leave the session early after the last fire is extinguished. Let the mission complete and return to the results/map flow so the clear is recorded.

Victim and Level Progression

Level 15: Inflaming of a Dumpster

Once Inflaming of a Dumpster is available at Level 15, use it for the rescue milestones. If you somehow have not reached Level 15 after the multiplayer block, complete any short available missions until it opens.

This Victoria Springs job has two rescuable people: one unconscious victim and one optional bonus bystander near the entrance. Handle them in the order below; if you get the order wrong, only one rescue is credited. As soon as you arrive, order an AI firefighter to move the bystander to safety, then send another AI to the prone victim while you extinguish the small fire. If the required victim and fire are completed before the bystander is safe, the mission can end and you lose that extra rescue for the run.

AI rescues count, so let the squad do the carrying while you finish the fire. At about 40-50 seconds for two rescues, this is the fastest rescue farm in the route. Keep repeating it toward the full 200 rescues; along the way you should reach roughly Level 39, by which point every mission and truck used in the remaining route should be available.

You Saved My Life

Save 1 victim. The first successful rescue in this section triggers it.

Getting it Done – Semi-Pro Lifesaver

Save 10 victims cumulatively. With both victims credited each run, this arrives very early in the Dumpster farm.

Cannot Be Stopped

Save 100 victims cumulatively. Keep rescuing both victims before ending each run until the achievement unlocks.

Work Horse

Complete 100 missions cumulatively. If you completed 50 Burning News missions first, this should unlock at or before your fiftieth successful Dumpster clear. If your route varied, ignore the exact timing; the later water and driving sections will push you well past 100 completed missions.

Rescue Cleanup: Red-Hot Party!

Red-Hot Party! in Victoria Springs (open by about Level 39) is an alternative when you want to combine rescues with the truck-specific achievements below. It has 9 victims and only one room on fire, behind a back-drafted door, but a run takes several minutes, so it is slower per rescue than Inflaming of a Dumpster.

Use AI aggressively for rescues. Victims carried to safety by AI still count toward your cumulative total. If an AI firefighter refuses to put a victim down, issue the Cancel/Abort command and reassign them.

TP3 Driver

The TP3 is the starter truck, so you can earn this as early as Home Crafting (the first mission after the intro) by choosing Deploy instead of Deploy On Scene. If you still need it here, select the TP3 and choose Deploy, not Deploy On Scene. Drive the truck to Red-Hot Party!, park in the marked arrival area, complete the mission, and let the results sequence finish. The driver achievements register from a completed mission after actually driving the selected truck to the scene; merely selecting or entering the vehicle is not the safe trigger.

T-Rex Driver

On the next suitable mission, select the T-Rex, choose Deploy, drive it to the scene, and finish the mission. The T-Rex is unlocked well before this point, at Level 14.

You can combine this with the Spectacular Rescue attempt below by driving the T-Rex to that mission.

Spectacular Rescue

Save 1 victim with the T-Rex basket. Pick any mission that allows the T-Rex and has victims (Home Crafting works). Drive the T-Rex there, extend the outriggers, enter the basket, and lower it all the way to the pavement. Exit the basket, carry a victim back to it, and enter the basket with them. Walking into the basket while it is still docked on the truck has worked for some players but made the victim vanish for others, so the ground-level method is the safer first attempt. When the rescue registers, the objective ticks. The achievement unlocks on the mission-end screen, so finish the mission.

If the ground-level method does not register, do a true elevated rescue on Batter Down The Hatches. Clear the fires, go upstairs, break the window, and order the victim to follow you. Bring the T-Rex basket up to that window, order the victim to follow again, enter the basket, then complete the mission.

Guardian Angel

Save 200 victims cumulatively. Inflaming of a Dumpster remains the fastest way to finish the count; use Red-Hot Party! for its 9 victims per run only when you are also doing truck achievements there. AI rescues continue to count.

Stop this block as soon as Guardian Angel unlocks. There is no benefit to farming extra victims after 200.

Specialist Trucks and Equipment

Burning News with the T-Rex

Return to Burning News, select the T-Rex, and choose Deploy if you still need its driver achievement. At the scene, extend the outriggers and enter the basket. Use the basket-mounted nozzle to reduce at least one fire marker completely to zero, then finish the mission normally.

A Brave Man up in the Sky

Quench a fire with the T-Rex basket. Reduce at least one fire to zero with the basket nozzle, then complete the mission; the achievement unlocks on the mission-end screen. You do not need to extinguish the entire mission from the basket. If Burning News gives you trouble, Ladder and Elevation is a documented alternative: drive the T-Rex there and quench the fire on the house roof from the basket.

Burning News with the Viper

The Viper unlocks at Level 8. Select it for Burning News and choose Deploy so the drive also satisfies the vehicle requirement. At the scene, connect the supply line if necessary, extend the outriggers, choose Control Ladder, switch to the ladder nozzle, and completely extinguish at least one fire marker. Finish the mission normally.

Viper Driver

Drive the Viper to the mission and complete the job. The achievement should register at mission completion.

Firefighting Hero

Quench a fire with the Viper nozzle. Reduce at least one fire to zero with the Viper ladder nozzle, then complete the mission; the achievement unlocks on the mission-end screen. The whole fire scene does not need to be cleared with the nozzle. Ladder and Elevation is a documented alternative mission: drive the Viper there and quench the roof fire from the ladder.

Oh, What a Shed!

Use Oh, What a Shed! on the west side of Lakeview Park for the equipment check. It has two locks for the Circular Saw, but any mission with a cuttable lock works. Every tool must be used within one mission, and that mission must be completed. The hidden tool tracking is not exposed to the player, and community lists do not agree perfectly on what is strictly required. Use the full safe route rather than trying to minimize inputs.

Select the TP3 and choose Deploy so you drive the fire engine to the scene. The TP3 carries the Crowbar, and the Viper that is also present on this mission carries the Halligan, shown in-game as the Pry Tool. Confirm that both trucks are on scene before you start. If the Viper is not there, restart and select the Viper instead; the standard truck that arrives with the AI then supplies the Crowbar.

During the mission:

  • Swing the Fire Axe at least once.
  • Swing the Crowbar from the TP3.
  • Swing the Halligan (Pry Tool) from the Viper.
  • Cut a lock with the Circular Saw.
  • Extinguish a flame with a Fire Extinguisher.
  • Set up an attack hose, attach a nozzle, and extinguish a flame with it.
  • Connect a supply line as extra coverage.
  • Swinging the Axe, Crowbar, and Halligan at the air counts for those handheld tools; the Extinguisher and attack hose still need to put out an actual flame.
  • Do not skip the intro or outro cutscenes.

Tool Master

Use every tool in the game once.

CURRENTLY COMMUNITY-FLAGGED / BUGGY — verified 2026-10-14: This achievement is inconsistent. Complete the full tool sequence above and finish the mission. The supply line and cutscene steps are included as harmless insurance, because meeting the apparent requirement does not always unlock it.

If Tool Master does not unlock, try these documented fixes on the next attempt, one at a time or all together:

  • Replay with the full sequence again, driving to the scene.
  • Use the Viper's outriggers and ladder to put out a fire.
  • Hard-reset the console (hold the power button until it turns off) before retrying.
  • Drive a different truck, or one you have not driven yet.

Do not assume a failed first attempt means the achievement is unobtainable.

Final Cumulative Grinds

Water Grind: Burning News

Use Burning News with a standard water-capable truck such as the TP3, Viper, or T-Rex. Deploy, connect a hose, turn on the water with Toggle Quench Input enabled, and let it run. The water does not need to hit a fire to count. Aim the stream away from the newsstand so the fire stays alive and the mission does not end early. If an AI firefighter picks up a hose, take it from them; they will return to the rally point. Keep the AI there.

Only hose water reliably counts, so do not rely on fire extinguishers. AI hose usage also does not count toward your total. Human teammates' water usage does count for every human player in the squad, which is why a four-player group is so valuable here.

Any hose (attack line or Viper/T-Rex nozzle) puts out roughly 3,400 liters per hour of continuous flow. That works out to about 30 hours solo, 15 hours with two humans, 10 hours with three, or about 7.5 hours with four. There is no idle kick. Treat these as practical estimates rather than guaranteed timers.

Most importantly, bank the accumulated water by successfully completing the mission. Long sessions increase the cost of a crash or disconnect, so finish Burning News every 30-60 minutes rather than gambling an entire overnight session on one mission. If the fire goes out and the mission ends on its own, that session is still banked; simply restart. The mission summary shows the water used for that run, and the water achievements unlock on the mission-end screen even if you passed the threshold mid-mission.

Hose Operator

Use 1,000 liters of water cumulatively. Continue completing water-grind sessions until the threshold registers.

Spray and Quench

Use 10,000 liters of water cumulatively. Human squad water contributes; AI water does not.

Let it Flow

Use 100,000 liters of water cumulatively. Continue the same method and always finish the mission to bank the session.

There is no in-game lifetime tracker. Use the mission-summary totals as your practical record and keep banking successful sessions until the achievement unlocks.

Driving Grind: Container and Pallets

At Level 37, Container and Pallets becomes available and is the preferred driving grind because the drive is long while the fire at the destination is quick to finish. Choose Deploy, drive the truck to the incident, extinguish the small fire, finish the mission, and repeat.

The drive is about 11.4 km one way, so roughly 90 completed runs cover the full 1,000 km.

Distance is credited only when the mission is completed successfully. Driving missions also have a response cut-off that fails the mission and loses that run's distance. It is about 10 minutes on most missions; Container and Pallets is commonly reported at 20 minutes, but at least one player failed at around 10. Treat the direct 11.4 km route as the reliable baseline. Only add a highway detour once you have seen your own runs succeed with extra time, and go back to the direct route if a detour ever times out.

Human passengers receive distance credit when another human player drives. In a squad, rotate who drives each set of runs. This does not remove the total wall-clock grind, but it spreads the active driving workload across the group.

Walk-In Rescue Driver

The Walk-In Rescue unlocks at Level 6. Select it for a mission that allows it, choose Deploy, drive to the scene, and complete the mission. If Container and Pallets does not offer it, Explosive Hot Dogs is a confirmed short mission that does.

Command Walk-In Rescue Driver

The Command Walk-In Rescue unlocks at Level 17. Select it on a compatible mission, choose Deploy, drive to the scene, and complete the mission. Explosive Hot Dogs is a confirmed compatible option if the truck is unavailable on your current driving-farm mission.

On the Road Master

Drive 50 kilometers cumulatively. Passenger distance in a human multiplayer squad also contributes.

Asphalt Cowboy

Drive 100 kilometers cumulatively. Keep banking completed driving missions; there is no useful in-game lifetime tracker for the full grind.

Firefighting Forever

Drive 1,000 kilometers cumulatively. Continue Container and Pallets or another long, reliably completable driving mission until it unlocks.

Expect roughly 10-20 hours of dedicated driving, and the lack of a lifetime tracker makes the final stretch feel longer than it is. Prioritize safe completed runs over squeezing a few extra kilometers out of a mission and risking a failure. Once Firefighting Forever unlocks, the full 1,000G route is complete.
