Route and Requirements

Gang Beasts has 19 Xbox achievements worth 1,000G. This guide targets the shared Xbox achievement list used by Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and the Microsoft Store Windows version.

There is no campaign and no traditional playthrough requirement. All achievement work can be done by selecting modes and stages directly, so there are no missables and no point of no return. One cleanup session is enough.

  • Online play is not required for any achievement.
  • A second human player is required for Shutout because Football has no AI opponents. A second local controller is the standard route; another human player online is the fallback, though online play on Xbox console may require an eligible multiplayer subscription. The idle second controller also makes Big Head and Drop Kick much easier, although those two can be done solo against enemies in Waves.
  • There are no difficulty-related achievements.
  • There are no DLC, expansion, title-update, or New Game+ achievements. Newer stages such as Crane have no achievements.
  • For solo stage attempts, set the win target as high as the menu allows so a failed physics attempt gives you more retries before returning to the menu.
  • Useful default controls are A to jump and run, B to headbutt or duck, X to kick, and LB/RB to grab with each hand.

All required stages are selectable without story progression. The order below is a CompletionLab cleanup route rather than a forced game order, so equivalent stage orders also work.

Current Achievement Status

CURRENTLY CONFIRMED UNOBTAINABLE: none as of 2026-10-14.

CURRENTLY CONFIRMED DISCONTINUED: none as of 2026-10-14.

The current version is Patch 1.28 (2025-10-07). No update has added or changed achievements. Update 1.24 addressed previously documented trigger-registration issues with Long Haul and Roast Beef. Update 1.26 corrected an issue where Special Delivery could unlock incorrectly. Isolated achievement-registration problems may still occur.

Sea Legs and Step Down can still be inconsistent. Their sections below give the clean trigger and what to do if it does not pop.

Main Menu and Two-Controller Setup

Character Customization

Welcome to Beef City

Open the character customization or costume screen from the main menu. Change any part of Player 1's character, or use the random option, then apply the change. The achievement unlocks when the customized character is applied.

For the physics-heavy achievements later, a plain character with no bulky hat, cape, or oversized costume piece is the safest choice because large costume parts can interfere with collisions and climbing.

Football

Shutout

Football has no AI opponents, so this needs a second human player. Connect the second controller and start a local Football match. Playing an online opponent instead works, but online play on Xbox console may require an eligible multiplayer subscription. Make sure Player 1 and Player 2 are on opposing teams; the scoreboard should show one red side and one blue side.

Score at least one goal with Player 1, then move Player 2 away from the ball and let the shortest available match timer expire without conceding. Shutout unlocks when the match ends with Player 1 winning and the opposing team still on zero.

Do not leave this at 0-0. The requirement is to win, not merely avoid conceding.

Two-Controller Combat

Keep the second controller connected and start a local Melee match on a flat stage. Leave Player 2 idle and use the dummy for the two concussion achievements. Without a second controller, both can also be done solo on enemies in Waves, though a stationary dummy is much easier.

Drop Kick

Build a run toward Player 2 by holding A. Just before contact, press A to jump and hold X through the collision to perform a diving kick. The achievement unlocks when that diving kick concusses Player 2.

If a clean diving kick is not producing a concussion, give the dummy one or two light normal hits first, let it stand back up, then try the diving kick again. The final concussing hit must be the diving kick.

Big Head

Let Player 2 recover, then take another running approach. Press A to jump, then hold A and B together through the impact. Holding both buttons is what produces the full diving headbutt; releasing A usually gives a weak standing headbutt that won't count.

Big Head unlocks when the diving headbutt concusses Player 2. If repeated impacts are not registering cleanly, remove bulky costumes from both characters and try again on a flat stage.

Waves

First Wave

Short Wave

Start a local Waves game with one controller. Waves runs on four stages: Roof, Grind, Incinerator, and Subway. Roof is the simple choice because enemies can be thrown over the edge, but any of the four works.

Defeat every enemy in the first wave. Grab an enemy with LB and RB, press Y to lift while holding them, carry them to an edge, and throw or drop them off. Short Wave unlocks when the wave is actually cleared, not when the first enemy is eliminated.

Once the achievement pops, leave Waves and move to the solo stage route.

Solo Stage Route

Grind

Safety Warning

Start local Melee on Grind with one controller. Jump over the railing into one of the active grinders, then immediately push back toward the platform and mash A until your character climbs or bounces back out.

Safety Warning unlocks when you escape the grinder hazard alive. If you are eliminated, restart the round and try again from a shallower entry.

Girders

Bucket List

Start local Melee on Girders. Go to the orange construction chute on the right side of the stage and drop through it.

Bucket List unlocks as you pass through the orange chute. Dying afterward does not matter once the achievement has triggered.

Incinerator

Roast Beef

Start local Melee on Incinerator. Lower yourself into the incinerator hazard far enough to make clear contact with the dangerous area, then grab the edge or nearby structure and climb completely back onto safe ground before you are eliminated.

Roast Beef unlocks when you escape the incinerator hazard alive. It can register late, so stay alive on safe ground for 10–15 seconds before resetting the round.

Buoy

Do Sea Legs first because it doubles as climbing practice for the top of the buoy.

Sea Legs

Start local Melee on Buoy and deliberately enter the water beside a climbable edge. Grab the ice or buoy with LB and RB, then use A while alternating your handholds to pull yourself upward until your whole character is back on solid surface.

Sea Legs unlocks when the game recognizes a successful escape from the water. It can be inconsistent, so make the escape unambiguous: get fully out of the water rather than merely hanging from the edge. If it does not pop, drop back in and perform one more full escape before leaving the stage.

If repeated clean escapes still fail, try swimming briefly in the water, or dipping only your feet in, before climbing fully onto the ice. This is reported to help but is not guaranteed.

Buoy ‘o buoy

Now climb the central buoy. Grab with both hands, hold A to pull your body upward, release one hand, reach higher with that hand, grab again, then repeat with the other hand.

Continue alternating handholds until you reach the highest section. Pull yourself onto the top rather than stopping while hanging just below it. Buoy ‘o buoy unlocks when you reach the highest section of the buoy.

Trucks

Stay in one Trucks session for the three stage achievements. In Transit comes first because entering the truck gives you the natural setup for climbing back to the roof.

In Transit

Move to the rear of a truck where the doors swing open and closed. Crouch or lower yourself over the rear edge, grab the inside of a swinging door with LB or RB, and let the door carry your body toward the cargo opening. Swing inward and release once your body is inside.

In Transit unlocks when Player 1 is inside the truck.

Keep on Trucking

From inside the truck, grab the rear door or upper edge and climb back out. Alternate LB and RB handholds while using A to pull yourself upward until you are standing on the truck roof again.

Keep on Trucking unlocks when you climb onto the roof. Simply spawning on the roof at the start of the round is not the route to use; leave the roof and climb back onto it as described.

Long Haul

Remain on the roof and watch the overhead road signs. Some sign sets have an open gap on one side. Pass through three of those open gaps in the same round without being eliminated.

When the gap is on your side, line up with it and press A just before the truck reaches the sign so your character jumps through the opening. If a solid green sign is coming toward your side, move onto the front cab roof and hold B to duck underneath it. You do not need the three gaps consecutively; you only need three successful passes before the round ends.

Long Haul unlocks on the third successful gap.

Containers

Do Self Storage first, then restart the round for Special Delivery rather than wasting time trying to recover from inside a moving container.

Self Storage

At the side opening of a shipping container, lower yourself over the edge while holding the lip with one or both hands. Swing your body toward the opening and release so you land inside the container.

Self Storage unlocks when Player 1 gets inside a shipping container. Once it pops, restart the stage for a clean Special Delivery attempt.

Special Delivery

Each container hangs from four cables. Pick one suspended container. Break one cable on one end with repeated headbutts. Move to the other cable on that same end, climb high enough that your hands are above the point you plan to strike, then kick the cable below your grip until it snaps.

The container should drop while you remain hanging from the upper cable segment instead of falling with it. Containers are sturdy and may stay attached after both cables on that end break. If so, climb to the remaining cables, keep your hands above the strike point, and break them too until the container falls.

Special Delivery unlocks when the supporting cables are broken and your character does not fall with the container. Stay hanging and alive for a few seconds after the drop before moving.

Elevators

Ground Floor

Each elevator hangs from two cables. Choose one elevator. Break its outside cable first with repeated headbutts while you are standing safely on or beside the elevator.

Climb high on the remaining cable. Keep your hands above the point you are attacking, then kick the cable below your grip until it breaks. The elevator should fall while you remain hanging from the upper cable segment.

Ground Floor unlocks when the elevator's support cables are broken and you do not fall with the elevator. Stay alive for a few seconds after the drop before moving.

Gondola

Hang Tough

Each gondola hangs from four cables. Pick one gondola. While standing safely on it, break the two cables farthest from the building with headbutts. The gondola should remain supported by the two cables on the building side.

Climb toward one of the remaining cables. Keep a secure handhold while kicking or headbutting the third cable until it breaks. For the final cable, climb high enough that your hands are above the point you will strike, then kick below your grip until the last cable snaps.

The gondola will fall. Stay hanging from the upper cable segment instead of dropping with it. If it is still attached after four cables, keep breaking whatever still holds it while keeping your grip above the strike point.

Hang Tough unlocks once the gondola loses its support and you remain suspended. Stay alive for a few seconds after the drop before moving.

This is one of the most awkward physics achievements in the game. Use the maximum win target so a failed fall gives you several quick retries.

Towers

Step Down

Start local Melee on Towers. Run down the staircase toward the lowest landing. Reaching the bottom landing causes the stairs to begin collapsing. The same character who triggers the collapse must be the one who gets back to safety. Knocking railing pieces down from above does not work.

As soon as the collapse starts, turn around and sprint back upward by holding A. Near the top, jump and grab the building's upper ledge with LB/RB, then pull yourself to safety while the staircase falls away.

Step Down unlocks after the stairs break while you survive the collapse. Once you are back at the top, stay alive for a few seconds. This achievement is known to be inconsistent, so if you merely trigger the collapse and fall with the stairs, or it does not pop after a clean escape, try again and prioritize grabbing the top ledge.

Ring

Save Ring for last because Sit Down is usually the most execution-sensitive achievement.

Sit Down

Start local Melee on Ring with a plain costume and the maximum win target. Climb onto one of the corner posts until you are standing as high as possible on the turnbuckle area.

From the top, jump outward toward the spectator seating and hold B to add a diving headbutt to the launch. Aim to clear the ropes and collide with the outer railing and seating area. Sit Down unlocks when the required seating-and-railing collision registers.

If you hit the ropes and fall back into the ring, reset your position on the corner and try again. Bulky costume pieces can catch on the ropes, so use the default body if the jump feels inconsistent.

Fallback methods if the corner dive keeps failing:

  • Jump onto the bottom-left corner railing and immediately jump again toward the spectator chairs.
  • Get outside the ring at a corner post and hold the post with one hand. Press A while holding the stick toward the seating to swing and launch yourself into the chairs and railing.

Final Cleanup

If Something Did Not Unlock

There are no missables, so any missing achievement can be retried directly from its mode and stage.

  • Confirm that Player 1 on the achievement account performed the final trigger.
  • For cable achievements, remain hanging or standing safely after the structure drops and stay alive for a few seconds; falling with it does not satisfy the requirement. Elevators hang from two cables, while containers and gondolas hang from four; keep breaking cables until the structure actually falls.
  • For Big Head and Drop Kick, the diving move itself must cause the concussion.
  • For Long Haul, all three sign gaps must be passed in one round.
  • For Shutout, the two players must be on opposing teams and Player 1 must actually win with the opponent on zero.
  • For physics-heavy attempts, remove bulky costumes and restart the round if the stage state has become messy.
  • If Sea Legs or Step Down still fails after a clean attempt, fully restart Gang Beasts and repeat only that achievement's exact trigger rather than changing to unrelated methods.

Once all 19 achievements are unlocked, the Xbox list is complete at 1,000G.
