▶Before You Start
Kameo has 50 achievements. The base game holds 26 of them worth all 1,000 Gamerscore. Three add-on packs contribute the other 24, all worth 0G: the Co-Op Pack (9), the Power Pack (14), and the Design-A-Skin Pack (1). This guide covers all 50.
This is the Xbox 360 game, played on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S through backward compatibility, either as a standalone purchase or through Rare Replay. Both use the same 360 achievement list. The backward-compatible version is reported to include all of the original add-on content, so you should not need to download any packs separately. Before you start the Power Pack section, check that Expert, Time Attack and Rune Battle appear in the game's menus.
▶What the Completion Looks Like
- One story playthrough. The story is short and easy. Nothing in the story is a true missable, because the hub areas stay open after the credits and every action level can be replayed.
- Collectibles for Game Complete. You need all 100 Elemental Fruit, all 12 Elixirs of Life and all 4 Crystal Eyes, plus the finished story. The 100 fruit come from 74 pickups, because 13 of them are large fruit worth 3 each. Many collectibles need warriors you only get later, so this guide routes each one at the point where you can actually take it. The Collectibles list at the end of the guide holds every pickup.
- Six solo 'A' ranks. These are the hardest base-game achievements. You need 15 to 30 million points per level in Score Attack, which means building large multipliers, avoiding hits, and farming Doom Trolls.
- Co-op with a second controller. The five co-op boss achievements, the six Co-Op 'A' ranks and both Rune Battle achievements work in local split-screen with a second controller that you can leave idle.
- Power Pack content. Expert Mode on all six action levels, six Time Attack 'A' ranks, and two Rune Battle achievements. Time Attack is built for two active players, so plan on a partner for it.
- Xbox Live hosting. 10 Live Co-Op games, 20 Live Co-Op games and 50 Live Co-Op games need you to host real Xbox Live co-op sessions with a second console. This is the only part of the list that needs online play.
▶Current Status (checked 2026-10-04)
- No achievement is currently confirmed unobtainable. Players are still completing the full 50-achievement list in 2026.
- The three Xbox Live hosting achievements are currently obtainable: players were still unlocking 50 Live Co-Op games in August 2026. Do them last, once everything else is done.
- HISTORICALLY REPORTED BUG: In the game's early version on the original Xbox 360, some story achievements, most often Freed Lenya and Found Chilla, failed to unlock. An early title update addressed single-player achievement unlock failures, and these achievements unlock normally today. As a precaution, glance at your achievement list after each boss.
- CURRENTLY COMMUNITY-FLAGGED / BUGGY: The six Co-Op 'A' achievements. A split-screen A on the results screen does not always unlock them, so aim well above the listed score (see Co-Op Level Runs).
▶Route Warnings
- Score Attack 'A' ranks are judged on the Score Received figure at the top of the results screen, not the Total Overall Score below it. Players often misread this.
- Cheats unlocked from high scores stop that level from scoring. Never have a cheat switched on during an 'A' rank attempt.
- Use Score Attack from the main menu rather than replaying from the Magic Mirror in the Chamber of Living Portraits. The Mirror can remove your equipped Crystal Eye and sometimes fails to save scores.
- Once you bomb the Thorn's Castle gate, the story runs straight through Thorn's Pass and into Thorn's Airship. There is no way back to the hub areas until after the credits. Finish the collectibles before you bomb that gate (see the cleanup section).
▶Thorn's Castle and the Enchanted Kingdom
▶Starting the Game
▶And the winner is...
On backward compatibility, this achievement unlocks automatically when you start the game, because the Design-A-Skin skins come with the game. You do not need to do anything. If it is missing after your first session, start the game again from the Xbox dashboard and check once more before worrying about it.
▶Thorn's Castle (Prologue)
The opening level is a tutorial. Kameo borrows Chilla, Pummel Weed and Major Ruin here, but these are lent warriors. None of the "Found" achievements unlock during this level, and you do not have the Wotnot Book yet, so you cannot buy upgrades or change your Crystal Eye.
Play through it normally. This is also the first of the six Score Attack levels, but do not worry about score yet. You will come back with fully upgraded warriors.
▶The First Shadow Troll
After the castle, Kameo is sent to the Enchanted Kingdom and you get the Wotnot Book. The Wotnot Book tracks your Elemental Fruit, Elixirs and Crystal Eyes, so use it to check your counts throughout the game.
Follow the story into the well by the Warrior Trainer's hut. Defeat the light demon, absorb its light, and hit the Shadow Troll to free your first warrior.
▶Found Pummel Weed
Unlocks when you free Pummel Weed from the first Shadow Troll. This also gives you a bonus Elemental Fruit, which does not count toward the 100.
From here on, the ten "Found" achievements unlock one at a time, each time you gain a new warrior. They cannot be missed.
Make sure Pummel Weed has the Uprooter upgrade (1 fruit in the Wotnot Book). You need it for the beach shells below.
▶Enchanted Kingdom Collectibles
▶Collectibles · 11 11 collectibles
Pummel Weed's well plant — dancing plant beside the well at the side of the Warrior Trainer's hut.
Typhoon's quiz — pay 10 Runes at Typhoon's house and answer 7, 5, 8, 5, 4, 0.
Beach shell — under the middle shell on the beach near the shop; flip every shell with Creeper and Uprooter.
Kingdom shop fruit 1 — buy in the shop outside the castle.
Kingdom shop fruit 2 — the shop's second fruit.
Chamber entrance plant — dancing plant at the Chamber of Living Portraits entrance; Creeper under the courtyard gate near the shop.
Kingdom ? sign quest — read the five signs in order; the plant appears by the Mystic's hut.
Warrior Trainer — given along with the Wotnot Book in the Enchanted Kingdom.
Enchanted Kingdom shop — buy in the shop outside the castle.
Magic Mirror — in front of the Magic Mirror in the Chamber of Living Portraits.
Eye of Restoration — under the far (rightmost) shell on the beach near the shop; flip it with Pummel Weed's Creeper and Uprooter.
You will pass through the Enchanted Kingdom many times. Use this first visit to start on the three collectible sets that Game Complete needs.
- Elemental Fruit (100): Small fruit count as 1 and large fruit count as 3. Pick up every fruit as Kameo, including any that a warrior knocks loose. Each of the four shops (Enchanted Kingdom, Forgotten Forest Glade, Mountain Falls and Snow Top Village) sells two fruit at 30 Runes each. Each of those four areas also has a five-sign ? quest that ends in a fruit plant, and villagers with ? over their heads reward fruit for their side requests.
- Elixirs of Life (12): Each one permanently lengthens your health bar. Four are sold in shops at 20 Runes each, one comes from the Warrior Trainer, and the other seven are found in the world or earned from puzzles and quests.
- Crystal Eyes (4): All four are in the Enchanted Kingdom. You equip one at a time. Each needs a different warrior or upgrade, so you will collect them across the story: Restoration now, Spirit after Ash, Protection after Chilla, and Strength after Thermite.
The Wotnot Book shows your fruit as "X of 100", but it does not tell you which ones you are missing. Each story section below lists exactly what to collect there, and the Collectibles list at the end holds every pickup.
Collect these now:
- Shake the dancing plant beside Pummel Weed's well, at the side of the Warrior Trainer's hut.
- Typhoon's house (southeast, behind the unicorn statue, near the lake): pay 10 Runes and answer his six questions with 7, 5, 8, 5, 4, 0. A wrong answer costs another 10 Runes to retry.
- The beach near the shop and Typhoon's house has a row of shells. Use Pummel Weed's Creeper, then Uprooter, on every shell. The middle shell holds a fruit and the far (rightmost) shell holds the Eye of Restoration.
- Use Creeper to slip under the courtyard gate near the shop and shake the dancing plant at the entrance to the Chamber of Living Portraits.
- Read the five ? signs in order: by Lenya's pool, by Yeros in the inner courtyard, on the Throne Room balcony, behind the shop stall, and left of the Mystic's hut. A fruit plant appears by the Mystic's hut.
- Buy both fruit and the Elixir of Life in the shop outside the castle when you can afford them.
- The Warrior Trainer gives you an Elixir of Life along with the Wotnot Book.
- Pick up the Elixir of Life in front of the Magic Mirror in the Chamber of Living Portraits.
Spend fruit in the Wotnot Book on warrior upgrades as you go. A full upgrade takes 8 fruit per warrior, 80 in total. Every warrior should be fully upgraded before you start the Score Attack 'A' ranks.

- Defeat the two trolls attacking Dil at the first hut on the left. Dil gives a large fruit.
- Lift and throw the five plants on the stone circle between the four eyed trees until a fruit appears.

- Read the five ? signs: opposite Creeper's house, on the bar jukebox, on the submerged stump by the four trees, on the hollow-tree branch toward the Mushroom Cavern, and beside Dil's hut. The fruit plant appears by Dil's hut.
- Buy the shop's two fruit and its Elixir of Life.
▶Found Rubble
Found Rubble20G
Unlocks as soon as the Mushroom Cavern Shadow Troll is defeated.
Before you leave the Mushroom Cavern, use Rubble on both statues. Drop a stone into the left statue's mouth for a fruit, and blast a rock into the right statue's mouth for an Elixir of Life. Then destroy all four mosquito nests (three in the main cave, one by the well room) and every mosquito for the researcher's large fruit.
Some Glade items need warriors you get later: Nettle's large fruit needs Ash, Creeper's boulder needs Major Ruin and Ash, and the ceiling pods on the vine-blocked branch need Chilla. Each is routed below.
▶Forest Temple
Continue through the Forgotten Wood to the Forest Temple. This is the Forgotten Forest action level, which you will replay later for Score Attack, co-op, Expert Mode and Time Attack. The boss is Old Mawood.
▶Freed Halis

Eye of Spirit — Dungeon of Eternal Life, off the campfire chamber: light the two dragon-head torches beside the locked gate with Ash (buy Wildfire first).
Return later
Ash opens several items in the Glade and the Enchanted Kingdom. Buy Ash's Wildfire upgrade (2 fruit) first.
- In the Glade, kill every beetle and beetle spawner around Nettle's house. Only Ash can destroy the spawners. Nettle gives a large fruit.
- In the Enchanted Kingdom's Dungeon of Eternal Life, go to the second chamber and light the two dragon-head torches either side of the locked gate. The soldier there gives a large fruit.
- In the next room, knock over the oil cauldrons on the wall with Ash. The rightmost one drops a fruit. One cauldron keeps playing the fruit jingle after its fruit is gone, so do not count on the sound.
- Off the campfire chamber, light the two dragon-head torches beside a different locked gate for the Eye of Spirit.
- Once you have done the dungeon, pull up the red-bulb plants in the grass outside the Chamber of Living Portraits. One hides a fruit; the one nearest the sign, left of the entrance, is the usual spot.
Your Wotnot Book should now read 29 of 100 Elemental Fruit.
▶Lost Ruins Challenges
▶Collectibles · 5 5 collectibles
Beetle Brawl — Lost Ruins challenge, 10 Runes: kill 120 beetles in 1:00. Northeast hut pair between the Glade and Mountain Falls.
Pumpkin Panic — Lost Ruins challenge, 10 Runes: smash 75 pumpkins in 1:00. Hut on the side road south of the Forgotten Forest.

Troll Trouble — Lost Ruins challenge, 10 Runes: kill 40 trolls in 1:30. Tunnel behind overturned tables in the ice-block hut.
From your second trip across the Badlands, three of the four Warrior Trainer challenges in the Lost Ruins are open. You reach each one through a tunnel at the back of a Badlands hut; smash the furniture or boxes covering the entrance. Each challenge gives one fruit, once only, and a failed attempt costs the fee again. Give Rubble the Rapid Charge upgrade (2 fruit) first; his Gravel Blast handles all three.
- Pumpkin Panic (10 Runes): smash 75 pumpkins in 1:00. The hut is on the side road south of the Forgotten Forest.
- Beetle Brawl (10 Runes): kill 120 beetles in 1:00. The hut is one of the pair in the northeast, between the Glade and Mountain Falls.
- Troll Trouble (10 Runes): kill 40 trolls in 1:30. Its tunnel is behind overturned tables in the hut with the frozen ice blocks, in the west pair of huts in the snowy area. The fourth challenge, Elemental Evil, shares this tunnel but needs all ten warriors, so leave it for the final cleanup.
While you are at the snowy west pair of huts, take two more fruit. In the hut with the ice blocks, melt all four blocks with Ash; one holds a fruit. In the other hut of that pair, smash the stack of boxes and shake the plant behind it.

- Grab a Magmite outside the stuck door, have Snare spit it at the door, and ice-spike it with Chilla to blow the door open.
- In the swamp, shake a trumpet flower and drop the open flower so the Ogre charges and knocks down a fruit. Drop that fruit into a steam vent. Repeat until all three vents are plugged and the well door opens.
- Shake the dancing plant behind the well for a fruit. Take it on this visit.
Then go into the swamp's Shadow Well and beat the last Shadow Troll.

You now have every warrior, so every collectible in the game is reachable. Finish them here. Once you bomb the Thorn's Castle gate, the story runs straight through Thorn's Pass and into Thorn's Airship with no way back to the hubs until after the credits.
- In the Chamber of Living Portraits, use Thermite's Mortar and Bomb to launch a bomb into the ring held by the giant Thorn statue. The Eye of Strength is in the rubble. Pick up any other Crystal Eyes you skipped.
- In the Badlands, go to the hut next to the Beetle Brawl hut, between the Forgotten Forest Glade and Mountain Falls. Get past the four Shield Trolls and blow open the stone chest with Thermite for a fruit.
- Play Elemental Evil (20 Runes) in the Lost Ruins tunnel of the ice-block hut, the same tunnel as Troll Trouble. You need 40 kills in 5:00, in waves of ten: Plant Trolls (use Ash), Fire Imps (Deep Blue's Spray), then Rock Trolls and Ice Trolls (Thermite's Mortar). The fruit comes after 40 kills; later waves are not needed.
- Open the Wotnot Book and confirm 100 of 100 Elemental Fruit, 12 of 12 Elixirs of Life and 4 of 4 Crystal Eyes. Skins are not needed.
- Spend your fruit so every warrior is fully upgraded.
If you are short, check the Collectibles list at the end of this guide area by area. The ones most often missed are the Snow Temple alcove plant, any spot where only one of several pods, shells or blocks holds the fruit, the red-bulb plants outside the Chamber of Living Portraits, the Ogre's Swamp plant behind the well, this Thermite chest, and large fruit that a villager leaves somewhere else (the Ancient Tower base, the squid man's house, the area where you freed the bug lady's husband, and the way out from Mizu).
Required for Game Complete: the three counts above plus beating the story. Sources agree on what is needed, but none confirm when Game Complete unlocks if you pick up the last item after the credits. The safest route is to have everything before you bomb the Thorn's Castle gate. It should then unlock at the end of the final fight. If you do finish the story first, your save is not ruined: collecting the missing items in post-game free roam has been reported to unlock Game Complete.
▶The Final Levels
▶Thorn's Pass
Head into the Badlands. A cutscene shows the troll army, and your horse is no longer available, so travel with Thermite's shield. Bomb the Thorn's Castle gate to begin Thorn's Pass, the fifth action level. Thorn's Pass and Thorn's Airship run as one continuous stretch, and the bridge is destroyed behind you during Thorn's Pass. The boss of Thorn's Pass is Lord Drok, a giant war machine. There is no story achievement for this fight, but beating it unlocks the level for co-op and Score Attack.
▶Thorn's Airship
Crossing the drawbridge at the end of Thorn's Pass takes you straight into Thorn's Airship, the last action level. The final fight starts in the ship's bow. Beat Thorn, then finish off Kalus when he tries to bring Thorn back.
▶Beaten Thorn
Beaten Thorn100G
Unlocks when you defeat Thorn at the end of Thorn's Airship.
▶Game Complete
If you collected all 100 Elemental Fruit, 12 Elixirs of Life and 4 Crystal Eyes beforehand, this should unlock at the end of the final fight alongside Beaten Thorn.
After the credits, loading your save puts you back in the Enchanted Kingdom with everything open. That is your post-game base for collectible fixes.
▶Score Attack 'A' Ranks
▶How Scoring Works
From the main menu, choose Solo, pick your saved game, then choose Score Attack and the level. The saved-game step is easy to miss. Your save's warriors, upgrades and equipped Crystal Eye carry in. Thorn's Castle has no Wotnot Book, so equip the eye you want and save before you start that level. Leave all cheats switched off (Wotnot Book, Bonus section). Keep the in-level score display on in Options.
The rank depends only on your score, not your time. Read the Score Received figure at the top of the results screen. The scores needed for an 'A' are:
- Thorn's Castle: 15,000,000
- Forgotten Forest: 15,000,000
- Water Temple: 17,000,000
- Snow Temple: 30,000,000
- Thorn's Pass: 30,000,000
- Thorn's Airship: 30,000,000
The game does not show the exact threshold, so if the grade is not an A at the listed score, keep going for a higher score.
Each kill's points are multiplied by your Brutal, Carnage and Frenzy multipliers, so multiplier height matters far more than the number of kills.
- Carnage goes up by 1 for every kill.
- Brutal goes up for a kill with a single move, or a kill using the environment: ledges, spikes, grinders, pits, flames, big explosions, or burning.
- Frenzy goes up when kills come in quick succession. A chain of kills adds one less than the number of kills in it, and the chain breaks after a pause of a few seconds.
- Losing multipliers: every hit removes one of each multiplier. Burning removes one of each per tick, so put fires out fast; switching to a rock warrior (Rubble or Major Ruin) stops it. A fall removes one of each and respawns you, sometimes among enemies. Dying or falling into lava loses everything and restarts the level. Dragon kills raise Carnage, but their points are not multiplied.
- Warrior Focus: landing many rapid hits fills a meter under the multipliers. In Focus, everything slows except you and the Doom Trolls. Focus lasts as long as you keep landing hits on something.
- Doom Trolls: these small, fast, white trolls appear only in Warrior Focus, and only if your Carnage is at least 10 when Focus starts. More Carnage means more Doom Trolls: roughly 1 at 10 Carnage, 3 at 20, 5 at 30 and 7 at 40. They are worth huge points. Each run has a limited number of Focus spawns, so entering Focus with low Carnage wastes them. Once you kill every Doom Troll on screen, more only appear after you leave Focus and enter it again.
The basic farming loop is the same on every level:
- Kill steadily with one-hit and environmental kills, without taking hits, to build Carnage well past 10.
- At a spot with a steady stream of enemies, trigger Warrior Focus.
- Kill the Doom Trolls first. Keep one normal troll alive as a punching bag to keep Focus going.
- When the Doom Trolls stop coming, leave Focus, rebuild, and repeat. Do not kill every normal troll until the Doom Trolls stop spawning, because surviving trolls are what let you re-enter Focus.
Useful tools:
- Pummel Weed: Weedkill (go underground with Creeper, hold LT until he glows, release next to an enemy) gives reliable Brutal kills in open areas, but it flings enemies away near ledges and walls. His jab combo (LT, RT, LT, RT, done twice with a short gap) is a reliable way into Focus.
- Major Ruin: Hyper Cyclone (LT+RT) enters Focus and clears Doom Trolls.
- 40 Below: Ice Quake with the Eye of Strength can enter Focus and kill almost every Doom Troll at once. Avoid it near ledges, where it knocks your punching-bag trolls off.
- Rubble: his Blast hits all around him and clears Doom Trolls well.
- Chilla: carry up to three trolls and hurl them, or Ice Spike enemies, for Brutal kills.
- Snare: throw rolling and armoured trolls into propellers or out of windows for Brutal kills.
Upgrade every warrior, and have all 12 Elixirs and 4 Crystal Eyes before you start. Weedkill and the Eye of Spirit are used most.
Work through the levels in this order: Thorn's Castle, Water Temple, Forgotten Forest, Thorn's Pass, Thorn's Airship, then Snow Temple last.
▶The Six Ranks
▶Thorn's Castle ranking
Get 15,000,000 in Score Attack on Thorn's Castle. You only have Chilla, Pummel Weed and Major Ruin, and you cannot change your eye inside the level. There are few ways to die here, so it is the best level to learn the farming loop. Aim comfortably above 15 million and check the grade.
Route:
- Cannoneers and the ice wall at the start give few points; kill them in passing.
- On the first tower ledge, kill the trolls and the three red dragons (Chilla's Ice Spike gives easy Brutal kills). Wait for the three trolls that climb the tower, and stay off the ledge spikes.
- In the pipe area, the first troll hides under a spiked shell. Use Creeper to get close, wait for the spikes to retract, Uprooter the shell off, then jab the troll. More trolls follow, including small fire trolls; avoid catching fire.
- In the lava-pit arena, take the rolling trolls slowly. Then cross the bridge and kill the two flying red dragons.
- On the spiral staircase, trolls jump out of every other window. Shoot down the left and centre chandeliers with Chilla before the next tower, then climb and kill the bomb-troll cannoneer (Weedkill works without touching its bombs).
- Main farm: the long area where trolls knock the shells off the tower and then a large wave pours out. This is the biggest standing group in the level. Only kill Doom Trolls while in Focus, and leave regular trolls alive so you can re-enter Focus again and again.
- To finish, climb the ice walls, knock a chandelier onto the Glass-Jaw Troll, kill the two trolls in wooden crates along the left wall, and leave through the door.
▶Forgotten Forest ranking
Get 15,000,000 in Score Attack on Forgotten Forest. This is one of the two toughest levels. Use Pummel Weed and Rubble.
Route:
- In the opening room, free the kid and break the gate. When four trolls arrive, equip the Eye of Restoration, go underground with Pummel Weed near the centre of the room, and chain Weedkills as fast as you can so each kill also adds Frenzy.
- Line the path of the two white shell trolls with fire so they leave their shells, then Weedkill them. Switch to the Eye of Strength and Rubble to shoot trolls from range down the slope. Throw rocks over the next groups of three and Blast them together, and Weedkill the two crate trolls by the spike pit.
- In the tree tunnel, chain Weedkills on the bomb troll and its group. Throw or uppercut the four green explosive shells into walls. Kill the archer with Rubble before going down the slope.
- At the giant troll, jab the two nearby trolls into Focus, switch to Rubble and Blast the Doom Trolls, then Blast again while the giant is in range.
- Main farm: by now you should have 25 or more on your multipliers. Take off the Eye of Strength (or use the Eye of Spirit). Go back to the end of the tree tunnel, where an invisible line stops trolls from advancing. Lure two or more trolls there and jab into Focus from just behind the line, so the Doom Trolls line up in front of you. Blast them with Rubble and repeat until no more come. This farm alone is usually enough for the A.
- Do all of this before you enter the ruins where three archers hide behind metal boxes. Once you go in, you cannot go back.
- At the exit, kill one bomb troll immediately and stay near the other so it will not throw. Hide behind the centre pillar as Rubble and pick off the archers one at a time.
▶Water Temple ranking
Get 17,000,000 in Score Attack on Water Temple. It is one of the easier levels once you learn the fire trolls. Use Deep Blue, Rubble and Major Ruin, and do not use Pummel Weed in rooms with fire vents.
Route:
- Underwater at the start, shoot the roughly ten trolls the submarine drops before they shoot you, then the submarine. The scuba trolls do not need to be killed.
- In the circular fire-troll room, equip the Eye of Spirit and kill both sets of small fire trolls with Deep Blue. When the large fire troll appears, spray it while dodging its bombs, then finish it with Rubble's Blast or Major Ruin.
- Outside, shoot the submarines and climb the ramps with Major Ruin. Push the ball trolls off the ledge.
- In the big room with many small fire trolls, keep the Eye of Spirit on and use Deep Blue's Spray. Stay central so the plant enemies in the vases stay put; only fire kills them, so let Ash deal with them before you spin the wheel.
- Main farm: after you spin the wheel, trolls jump in through the windows. Use Major Ruin's Cyclone to enter Focus and clear the Doom Trolls.
- Outside with the two submarines and the ship, switch to the Eye of Strength. Shoot the ship from the sides, never from behind.
- At the tower, shoot the three trolls as they come out, push the first troll on the slope into the water, Weedkill the top troll, and help your allies at the top.
▶Snow Temple ranking
Get 30,000,000 in Score Attack on Snow Temple. Do this one last. You must protect two walruses; if one dies, the run is over. They can be killed by your own attacks too, so never hit a walrus. Falling does not kill you here, but it costs multipliers.
Route:
- Shoot the two cannoneers at the ice wall in quick succession from the first ledge.
- At the first walrus, free the troll, use Deep Blue on the small fire trolls and Chilla on the rest. Kill the three archers up the ramp, and do not stand still in that room, because spikes fall.
- When Queen Thyra sends ice bugs, use Ash or 40 Below. Spike the left cannoneer with Chilla between waves.
- Cross the jump with two Major Ruin dashes. Main farm: the room above. Kill the trolls, the three sword Ice Trolls and the two shield Ice Trolls (Flex pulls off their shields; melee on them freezes you). More trolls climb in; use them to enter Focus, but do not kill them all until the Doom Trolls stop spawning. 40 Below's Ice Quake with the Eye of Strength is ideal here, well away from the walruses.
- The second walrus is the hardest part. Kill every troll first, then spike the two cannoneers behind the big troll. Equip the Eye of Strength, stand left of the troll facing the archer spawns, and free the walrus. Kill archers as they come, use Ash on sword Ice Trolls, and keep setting Ash's Incinerator traps near the walrus's back without letting any attack hit him. Use Ash or 40 Below on the ice-bug waves; one wave getting through can kill him.
- Clean up the trolls on the centre platform and the small fire trolls by the door, climb the left ice wall to the last room, and finish.
▶Thorn's Pass ranking
Get 30,000,000 in Score Attack on Thorn's Pass. Points come easily here. The danger is 4 or 5 jumps where a miss kills you and restarts the level, including one right at the end. Assign Chilla, Thermite and one more warrior to your quick-select slots.
Route:
- At the start, Thermite destroys the two towers and stuns the big troll; Chilla finishes it. Start building multipliers on the first troll spawn.
- Snipe the two red dragons, kill the spawned trolls, and shoot the gate chains. Use Deep Blue with the Eye of Spirit on the small fire trolls.
- Roll down onto the lava platform as Thermite, then cross with Major Ruin and Chilla. Thermite handles the scorpions; they explode shortly after being hit, so back away.
- In the pipe room, use Deep Blue and Thermite on the small fire trolls and scorpions. Outside, Thermite takes out the three towers; keep moving under the last tower's fire.
- For the two lava-ramp jumps as Major Ruin, get right up to the ramp, angle slightly right, charge once and tap RT at the landing. A second full charge overshoots.
- In the pipe with three huge rock trolls, do not enter Focus. After them and the five boxes of small fire trolls, farm Doom Trolls with Major Ruin or 40 Below and the Eye of Strength.
- For the last jumps, angle left and use one Major Ruin blast per jump. Clear every enemy before you finish, and watch the right side of the floor, which collapses.
▶Thorn's Airship ranking
Get 30,000,000 in Score Attack on Thorn's Airship. Scoring is easy here; the danger is fire and long falls.
Route:
- On the starting platform, clear the enemies the two airships drop until they stop, then destroy those airships and the two farther ones.
- Knock the rolling trolls into the airship rudder. Kill the normal and bomb trolls without catching fire.
- At the second and third rudders, armoured trolls drop from the ceiling. Shoot the cannon operator and the rapid-fire archer turret without destroying their ships. Do not stand under the malfunctioning door.
- Drop down the hole. Kill the Glass-Jaw Troll first. Main farm: after it falls, wait for trolls to enter the room, use Major Ruin's Cyclone to enter Focus, and attack the white trolls while avoiding the green ones. You can repeat this roughly ten times before the Doom Trolls stop.
- The room of small fire trolls and white shell trolls is hard on your multipliers; fight carefully or move through quickly. Free the hanging airship with Chilla.
- On both wing sections, kill the turret operators first, then the troll drops, then blow up the airships last. Knock the rolling trolls off the second wing in groups.
▶Local Co-Op
▶Setting Up Co-Op
Co-op is played in split-screen. Choose Split Screen, press Start on a second controller, and load your story save. You can only play levels in co-op that you have already beaten in single player. You do not need a second person for the co-op boss achievements or the Co-Op 'A' ranks. Player 2's hits and deaths do not touch your multipliers, and they respawn when they die, so you can leave the second controller idle.
Co-op adds warp points at cutscene triggers and respawn points. When one player crosses one, the other is warped there, so an idle player 2 is carried along.
If controller 2 cannot join, sign it in to a second Xbox profile (a free account works). Some backward-compatible 360 games need a signed-in profile for player 2. This has not been confirmed either way for Kameo.
▶Co-Op Level Runs
A co-op mission is the scoring part of the story level, followed by the boss for the last five levels. Play each of the six action levels once in co-op and go for a Co-Op 'A' on every run. The boss achievements unlock whatever your rank, so every finished run counts even if you miss the 'A'.
Use the same route as the solo ranks in this guide. The normal split-screen 'A' needs the same score as the solo 'A' (15 million for Thorn's Castle and Forgotten Forest, 17 million for Water Temple, 30 million for the other three). A co-op 'A' does not unlock the solo ranking achievement, so you need separate solo and co-op runs.
Keep player 2 close to you whenever Warrior Focus starts. Otherwise about half of the Doom Trolls may spawn next to player 2. The supply of Doom Trolls is still limited per run, just as in solo. Use local split-screen, not Xbox Live: Live co-op has no Doom Trolls.
Read your score before the boss fight; it is not known whether boss points count toward the rank, so finish the run and check the results screen.
▶Thorn's Castle Co-Op 'A'
Get an 'A' on Thorn's Castle in co-op. There is no co-op boss achievement for this level.
▶Forgotten Forest Co-Op 'A'
Get an 'A' on Forgotten Forest in co-op. The co-op version skips the inside of the Forest Temple and goes straight to the boss. For most of the level the warp points move player 2 for you. When you go back to fight the large troll group before the ruins, park player 2 just before the invisible line the trolls will not cross, but not so close that the trolls keep attacking player 2.
▶Beaten Old Mawood (Co-Op)

▶Thorn's Airship Co-Op 'A'
Get an 'A' on Thorn's Airship in co-op.
▶Beaten Thorn (Co-Op)
Unlocks when you defeat Thorn at the end of a Thorn's Airship co-op run. This is a separate achievement from the story's Beaten Thorn.
▶Power Pack
▶Expert Mode
With the Power Pack, the solo menu lets you choose Normal or Expert before you pick a level. Co-op also has an Expert option. Expert Mode is a harder, remixed version of each action level. You have every warrior but none of your upgrades, you deal half damage, enemies are much tougher, your health bar is short, and Crystal Eyes are disabled. Each achievement only needs you to finish the level; score does not matter.
Community guides recommend switching on the Invincibility cheat, and optionally One-Hit Kill, from the cheat sets you unlocked through Score Attack. Cheats are switched on in the Wotnot Book under Bonus. They stop you scoring, but score does not matter here. Switch One-Hit Kill off for Snow Temple: the walrus you must protect dies almost instantly with it on. Invincibility is fine there. If an achievement does not unlock on a cheated clear, replay the level without cheats.

▶Time Attack
Time Attack is in the co-op options, so set it up like a co-op run: Split Screen, Start on controller 2, then your story save. Unlike the other co-op content, Time Attack is built for two active players. One player runs ahead while the other fights to keep Warrior Focus going, which slows the clock. An idle second controller cannot keep Focus up, so plan on a real partner, especially for Water Temple, Thorn's Pass and Thorn's Airship. Trying with an idle second controller is untested; if you want to try, Forgotten Forest, Snow Temple and Thorn's Castle are the most forgiving.
How it works:
- The clock counts down, and your rank depends on how much time is left when you finish.
- The warp gates are the checkpoints. Each adds time to the clock, and whoever crosses one pulls the other player to it, so the fighter never has to keep pace with the runner.
- Warrior Focus slows the clock, so every Focus your partner holds buys time.
- Move fast: Major Ruin's roll, Kameo's hover, and Thermite's shield roll are the main ways to cover ground. Ignore enemies that are not in your way.
- Runs vary, so restart early when the opening of a level goes badly.
Finish with at least this much time left (the published targets are approximate, so check the results screen):
- Thorn's Castle: about 2:30 left
- Forgotten Forest: about 1:45 left
- Water Temple: about 0:50 left
- Snow Temple: about 0:25 left
- Thorn's Pass: about 0:30 left
- Thorn's Airship: about 0:20 left
Do them in this order, easiest first: Forest, Snow, Castle, Pass, Water, then Airship last.
▶Castle Time Attack 'A'
Get an 'A' in Time Attack on Thorn's Castle. You start with about 2:30 on the clock and each checkpoint adds time, so you need to finish with roughly as much as you started with. Your partner should get into Focus at two points: right after you deal with the first troll under the spiked shell, and in the large open area before the tower climb. Roll through the pipes as Major Ruin, hover the broken bridges as Kameo, and use Chilla to climb the ice walls. Ignore the cannon trolls and rolling trolls unless they block you. The clock stops as soon as you run through the door behind the final big troll.
▶Forest Time Attack 'A'
Get an 'A' in Time Attack on Forgotten Forest. This is the easiest of the six. Roll and hover through the tree tunnels, jump over the rows of shield trolls instead of fighting them, and pass the fire trolls on the right. The temple interior is skipped in co-op.
▶Water Time Attack 'A'
Get an 'A' in Time Attack on Water Temple. This is one of the hardest, because it has few Focus spots and a lot of underwater fighting. You start with 3:00 and gain 0:30 at each checkpoint. Split the work: one player handles the boats while the other goes down and kills the underwater enemies. Kill the first submarine as it crosses on the way to the fire-troll cave, spray small trolls into pillars or water for quick kills, and switch to Major Ruin and head for the exit while each tower wheel is still spinning. Attacking boats straight on lets you take them down quickly.
▶Snow Time Attack 'A'
Get an 'A' in Time Attack on Snow Temple. A long but fairly easy level. At both walrus sections, switch to Chilla and free the walrus as soon as possible, then fight the archers and trolls in Focus. The sooner the walrus is free, the sooner he breaks the gates ahead, so get in front of him when he is about to break through. Throw trolls into walls for quick kills.
▶Pass Time Attack 'A'
Get an 'A' in Time Attack on Thorn's Pass. It has hard jumps and needs careful planning of where your partner holds Focus. Shoot the three locks on the first gate and rush through during the cutscene. Open the sewer pipe with Thermite and rush the sewer sections. Against the cannon trolls, shoot front right, front left, back right, then back left. Keep Focus going during the fight with the three white shell trolls, and let Chilla kill the two dragons. 40 Below's Snowball (LT+RT) is a good way to move here.
▶Airship Time Attack 'A'
Get an 'A' in Time Attack on Thorn's Airship. The hardest of the six, and the one where luck matters most. Bomb the first airship with Thermite and shield-roll through the pipe zig-zag. In the first fight, you must get six rolling trolls into the back fan: spray them with Deep Blue so they roll up, then rush them in with Major Ruin. Once five are in, the runner should move on to the next section while the partner knocks in the sixth. On the left and right legs, spray four trolls into each fan with Deep Blue. If the first fan goes badly, restart.
▶Rune Battle
Rune Battle is the two-player versus mode added by the Power Pack, also found in the co-op menu. A second controller works fine for both achievements.
▶Treasure Hunter
Start a Rune Battle on Forgotten Forest. Kill the beetles at the start and make sure both players have exactly the same number of runes. Then run through the first checkpoint. A Mystery Gem appears in front of you; jump to grab it.
▶Rune Champion
Earn 5,000 runes in a single Rune Battle. Use Forgotten Forest again with a dummy second controller. Kill everything and smash every box. Bronze runes are worth 1 and silver runes are worth 5. Your multipliers are added to your rune total at the end, so you can finish below 5,000 during the level and still reach it. Getting hit costs runes, so play carefully. You can earn this in the same battle as Treasure Hunter.
▶Xbox Live Hosting
▶Hosting 50 Games
These three achievements need you to host Xbox Live co-op games on one save file. A second controller does not count, and neither does joining someone else's game. You need either a partner on another console, or a second console, a second Xbox account and a second copy of the game of your own. Online play for backward-compatible games normally needs an Xbox online multiplayer subscription.
Status (checked 2026-10-04): currently obtainable. Players were still unlocking 50 Live Co-Op games in August 2026. We did not find a recent write-up of the exact backward-compatible hosting setup, so check that 10 Live Co-Op games unlocks before grinding to 50, and use Xbox Live rather than System Link.
The fastest method: host a private Live game, invite your partner, choose Time Attack on Thorn's Airship, and let the clock run out. An expired Time Attack counts as a hosted game. Restart and repeat. Use the same save file every time, because the count is per save, and keep your own tally since the game does not show one.
▶10 Live Co-Op games
Unlocks after you host your tenth Xbox Live game on the same save. If it does not unlock, stop and reassess before spending time on the other two.
▶20 Live Co-Op games
Unlocks after your twentieth hosted game on the same save.
▶50 Live Co-Op games
Unlocks after your fiftieth hosted game on the same save. If your partner also needs it, swap host and repeat.
