Xbox Status and Route Plan

Tetris Effect: Connected has 42 Xbox achievements worth 1,000G. The same Xbox achievement list is used across Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and the Microsoft Store Windows version through the Xbox ecosystem. There are no DLC or title-update achievements on the Xbox list.

As of 2026-09-15, the full 1,000G is currently obtainable. Online services and the Weekend Ritual remain active, and no achievement is currently confirmed unobtainable or discontinued.

No competitive multiplayer match or co-op clear is required. The only time-gated requirement is the Weekend Ritual. It runs every weekend from Saturday 12:00 UTC to Sunday 12:00 UTC and is needed for Weekend Warrior and, in practice, for finishing the single-player avatar collection for Avatar Rockstar. Roughly half of the 100 avatars can only come from random Weekend Ritual drops. Multiple weekends are not mandatory, since repeated Event runs can finish the collection in a single long weekend session depending on duplicates and playtime, but playing the Ritual whenever it is live during your completion spreads the grind out and keeps it from becoming the last thing left.

There are no irreversible story choices or one-shot collectibles. Journey Areas and Effect Modes can be replayed, so ranks, Zone milestones, and cumulative totals can be cleaned up later.

The practical route is:

  • Play the Weekend Ritual every weekend from the start, alongside everything below.
  • Clear Journey on Beginner while learning Zone, aiming for S rank in every Area.
  • Replay any Beginner Area below S before moving on.
  • Clear Journey on Expert once for Expert Witness. Rank does not matter on this pass.
  • Work through the original ranked Effect Modes in a skill-building order and earn S in all of them.
  • Use the same runs to finish combos, T-Spins, All Clears, Back-to-Backs, Purify, Mystery, and SS-rank achievements.
  • Keep farming single-player Event avatars each weekend until the avatar total reaches 100.
  • Finish the long cumulative grinds: 10,000 lines, 500 Tetrises, 500 Back-to-Backs, 100,000 rotations, and Player Level 100.
Xbox version note: Seriously? Seriously. requires S rank everywhere possible on Xbox, not SS rank everywhere. Spin Artist also requires 100,000 rotations on Xbox. Do not use older PlayStation requirements for either achievement.

Rank Rules That Matter

For Journey, earn S or better in all seven Areas on one difficulty. Beginner is the efficient choice. You do not need S ranks on all three Journey difficulties.

For the Effect Mode rank achievements, target the original ranked set: Marathon, Ultra, Sprint, Master, Chill Marathon, Quick Play, Playlist: Sea, Playlist: Wind, Playlist: World, All Clear, Combo, Target, Countdown, Purify, and Mystery.

Zone Marathon and Classic Score Attack were added later and are not required for Seriously? Seriously. or Straight "A"s. You can ignore them for the achievement route.

The score and line targets in this guide are reliable aims, but the rank actually displayed on the result screen is what counts. If a result shows S, that entry is done, whatever its score.

Whenever an Effect Mode offers a normal and Endless variant, one qualifying rank is enough. Use Endless when it makes the required score easier in Marathon, Master, Countdown, and Mystery. Purify is the exception: an Endless Purify S rank has been reported not to count for Seriously? Seriously., so earn Purify's S on the standard variant.

Tracking Cumulative Progress

From the Effect Modes menu, press Y to open your records (the My Records challenge list, which grants avatar and music rewards), then press Y again to open your full game statistics. Your lifetime rotation count is listed there, toward the bottom right of the screen.

Use the in-game statistics as your primary check for any total they show, starting with rotations. For a total you cannot find on that screen, use the achievement's progress in the Xbox guide or Xbox app instead. Xbox progress can lag behind or disagree with the game, so treat it as a secondary guide, and trust displayed result ranks and the avatar collection count over achievement percentages.

Finish runs normally (reach the end or a game over and return to the menu) instead of quitting mid-run, so each session records cleanly.

Weekend Ritual — Play Every Weekend

The Weekend Ritual runs from Saturday 12:00 UTC to Sunday 12:00 UTC. During the event, one Effect Mode category is marked for the Ritual and eligible modes show the Event label. The category rotates between Classic, Relax, Focus, and Adventurous.

Event runs can be repeated as many times as you like while the Ritual is live, and each completed Event-labeled run at D rank or better gives a random single-player avatar. A dedicated session can collect a large share of the random avatars in one weekend. Separately, if the community reaches the event's shared goal before it ends, participating players also receive that event's avatar reward, which may only arrive after the Ritual has ended; that bonus depends on the community, not on your own runs. Use those runs for your current route work whenever the featured category allows it: Quick Play SS runs on Relax weekends, All Clear or Target on Focus weekends, Purify or Mystery on Adventurous weekends, and Sprint or Marathon on Classic weekends. The full details are in the Weekend Ritual section near the end of this guide.

Journey Pass 1 — Beginner S-Rank Route

Area 1 — Learn Zone Immediately

Start Journey on Beginner. Each standard Beginner stage asks for 30 non-Zone lines, and on Beginner every seven normal line clears fill one quarter of the Zone meter. That makes this the safest place to learn the mechanic. (Expert fills more slowly, at ten lines per quarter.)

Do not waste a full Zone meter. Try to enter Zone at 100% whenever your stack is stable. Zone line clears do not advance the normal stage line target, so they are effectively extra scoring and extra progress toward the Zone achievements.

Enter the Zone

Fill any portion of the Zone meter, activate Zone, and the achievement unlocks as soon as Zone starts.

From this point forward, use Zone throughout the entire Beginner run. You need more than ten cumulative minutes in Zone and 1,000 cumulative lines cleared during Zone, so every good activation now saves cleanup later.

Dodecatrist

Aim for this during Area 1 once you can fill the meter to 100%. Build a tall but controlled stack with a two- or three-column clearing channel, enter Zone with the full 20-second timer, and downstack through it.

The achievement unlocks when one Zone visit ends with at least 12 lines cleared. If you only reach 8-11, keep practicing the same setup; the larger Perfectrist target can wait until after the first Journey clear.

With a Single Step

Complete Area 1. This is a straightforward story-progression unlock after the Area is cleared.

Before leaving the Area, check the result rank. The long-term target is S or better. If you finished below S, you can replay the Area now or return after you are more comfortable with Zone scoring.

Areas 2-3 — Build the Cumulative Foundation

Continue on Beginner and keep the board as flat as possible. Favor Tetrises and T-Spins when they are safe, preserve Back-to-Back chains when practical, and enter Zone with a full meter whenever possible.

Do not stop the run to grind cumulative achievements yet. The next several achievements should unlock naturally while you are learning the scoring system.

Get In Line

This unlocks when your lifetime total reaches 100 cleared lines. Journey progression counts, so it should arrive early in the first pass.

Just Getting Started

A Tetris is a four-line clear with an I Tetrimino. This unlocks at 10 lifetime Tetris line clears.

Start building a normal one-column Tetris well whenever the board allows it. The same habit is important later for score ranks, Back-to-Back chains, and the 500-Tetris grind.

Area 4 — Midpoint Check

Keep using full-meter Zone activations rather than rushing each stage to its line goal. If an Area result lands below S, note it for replay rather than restarting individual stages repeatedly.

Don't Stop Believin'

Complete Area 4. The achievement unlocks after the Area clear.

Areas 5-7 — Finish the Beginner Run

Areas 5 and 6 are longer and faster than the early Areas, while Area 7 is the final Metamorphosis stage, a single 90-line stage. Continue prioritizing safe survival first and Zone scoring second.

At the end of every Area, check the Area rank. You ultimately want all seven Areas at S or better on Beginner.

Long, Strange Trip

Complete Area 7 to finish all Areas of Journey Mode. The achievement unlocks when the full Journey clear is complete.

"A" Student

If every Beginner Area finished at A rank or higher, this unlocks after the last qualifying Area. Because this route targets S everywhere, it should come automatically once all seven Beginner ranks meet the route goal.

If it does not unlock after the first Journey clear, open the Journey Area results and replay any Area below A. You do not need to change difficulty.

Beginner Rank and Zone Cleanup

Before starting Expert, replay every Beginner Area below S. Build the Zone meter, keep the stack controlled, and use full Zone activations for high-value line clears. You only need the displayed Area result to show S or better; there is no benefit to forcing SS for the Xbox achievement list.

This is also the best point to finish the two single-visit Zone achievements while the Beginner speed remains forgiving.

Perfectrist

Fill the Zone meter completely, then prepare a high stack with a controlled two- or three-column channel. Enter Zone at 100% and keep clearing without topping out.

The achievement unlocks when a single Zone visit reaches at least 18 cleared lines. This is much more demanding than Dodecatrist, so practice the setup on a comfortable Beginner Area rather than trying it during Expert.

10-Minute Parking Zone

Zone time is cumulative across visits. A full meter lasts 20 seconds, so roughly 30 full-meter activations provide ten minutes of Zone time.

If this has not unlocked by the end of the Beginner rank cleanup, keep replaying an early Beginner Area and use every full meter. The achievement unlocks once the cumulative Zone-time requirement is passed.

Comfort Zone

This requires 1,000 cumulative lines cleared while Zone is active. Normal lines outside Zone do not count toward this achievement.

Do not grind it from zero at the start. First finish all seven Beginner S ranks and the Expert clear, using Zone naturally whenever available. If it remains, replay a comfortable Beginner Area: fill the meter to 100%, build a safe high stack, enter Zone, clear as many lines as possible, and repeat.

Journey Pass 2 — Expert Clear

Complete All Seven Areas on Expert

Switch Journey to Expert and clear Areas 1-7. This pass is about survival, not score. You already handled the rank requirement on Beginner, so take safe singles and doubles when necessary and use Zone defensively if the stack becomes dangerous.

The final Metamorphosis stage still needs to be cleared on Expert. A failed stage can be retried; you are not restarting the entire Journey from Area 1.

Expert Witness

The achievement unlocks after every Journey Area has been completed on Expert.

Once this pops, you are finished with difficulty-specific Journey work.

Effect Modes — Build Skill, Then Earn Every S Rank

Quick Play — Easy SS Ranks First

Start with Quick Play at the default low-speed, 30-line setup. The current rank thresholds at that default configuration are 6,000 for A, 8,000 for S, and 10,000 for SS.

Keep the settings simple. Quick Play scales its grade requirement when you increase both starting level and line goal, so the default setup is the cleanest route for the rank achievements.

Savvy & Strong

Score at least 10,000 in a default 30-line Quick Play run to earn SS. The achievement unlocks when the SS rank is awarded.

Super Special

Repeat the same default Quick Play setup until you have earned 10 SS ranks total. Repeated SS ranks in the same mode count.

Do this now rather than waiting for ten different difficult SS ranks. You still only need S in the harder Effect Modes later.

Chill Marathon — Combos and Back-to-Back Setup

Earn at least 200,000 for the required S rank in Chill Marathon. Topping out does not end the run, but it resets both the playfield and your score, so the S-rank attempt has to reach 200,000 without topping out. That same reset makes Chill Marathon a forgiving place to practice long combo and Back-to-Back setups.

For the combo achievements, use a side-well setup. A three-wide well is easier for the 10 Combo; a four-wide well gives more room for the 15 Combo once you understand the piece flow.

Combo Rousseau

Build a continuing line-clear sequence until the combo counter reaches 10. The achievement unlocks when the 10 Combo is registered.

Combo Van Gogh

Extend the same concept to a 15 Combo. If your three-wide setup keeps ending early, switch to a four-wide side well and build the solid side of the stack higher before starting the downstack.

To build a four-wide setup: stack the six columns on one side (or three on each side) up to roughly two-thirds of the board without clearing lines, leaving a four-column well open. Drop a few pieces into the bottom of the well so three cells of its bottom row are filled, leaving one gap. From there, each clear should fill the gap and leave a new row with three cells filled. Not every piece fits every shape, so plan each placement around the Next queue and use Hold to swap out a piece that would break the pattern; each successful clear extends the combo.

The achievement unlocks as soon as the combo counter reaches 15.

For the Back-to-Back streak, a cleaner method is Quick Play with a goal of at least 60 lines and Fixed piece order. Build a one-column Tetris well and clear only Tetrises. A normal single, double, or triple line clear breaks the chain.

Back-to-Back Attack

The first difficult clear establishes the chain; the following difficult clears begin registering Back-to-Back. The safest route is therefore 11 consecutive Tetrises with no ordinary line clear between them.

The achievement unlocks when you have earned 10 Back-to-Backs in a row.

Back-to-Back Hack

Back-to-Back progress is cumulative. Tetrises and T-Spin line clears can continue the chain as long as you do not interrupt it with an ordinary line clear.

This achievement unlocks at 50 lifetime Back-to-Backs. Keep using Tetris wells throughout the remaining Effect Modes rather than grinding all 50 here if it has not already popped; check your progress as described in Tracking Cumulative Progress.

Classic Modes — Marathon, Ultra, Sprint, and Master

Now clear the four original ranked Classic modes that matter for S-rank completion:

  • Marathon: earn at least 400,000 for S.
  • Ultra: earn at least 30,000 in three minutes for S.
  • Sprint: clear 40 lines in under 1:20 for S.
  • Master: clear at least 130 lines for S.

Marathon and Ultra reward clean scoring, so favor Tetrises, T-Spins, and Back-to-Backs. Sprint is pure speed and is often the largest execution wall in the completion; practice flat stacking, fast hard drops, and immediate recovery from misdrops rather than trying to force advanced scoring.

Master is the other major skill check. Start at M1 and prioritize survival. The rank is based on lines cleared, so reaching 130 lines is the target. The Endless option can be used if you prefer not to have the normal completion limit end the attempt.

The Classics

Play Marathon, Ultra, and Sprint. Because the route above requires an S rank in all three anyway, this achievement will unlock naturally while completing the Classic rank set.

Master is required for the rank achievements but is not part of The Classics trigger.

Relax Playlists — Sea, Wind, and World

Complete all three Playlist variants. Each one needs 32,000 for S.

These are forgiving, so use them to reinforce clean Tetris stacking and Back-to-Back scoring before the Focus and Adventurous modes.

Tetris and Chill

Clear Playlist: Sea, Playlist: Wind, and Playlist: World. The achievement unlocks after all three have been completed.

Because all three also need an S rank for Seriously? Seriously., finish each one at 32,000 or better now rather than returning later.

Focus Modes — All Clear, Combo, and Target

The S targets are:

  • All Clear: complete 26 missions in one run.
  • Combo: reach 100 total combo clears in one run.
  • Target: complete 26 missions in one run.

These modes use prepared situations and repeatable patterns. Learning the layouts is more important than raw speed.

All Clear?

Each successful All Clear mission counts toward the lifetime All Clear achievements. This unlocks when the cumulative total reaches 10.

Stay in All Clear after earning the S rank. It is one of the most efficient places to finish the larger All Clear total because the mode is built around repeatable perfect-clear puzzles.

All Clear!

Continue completing All Clear missions until the lifetime total reaches 100. The achievement unlocks on the 100th All Clear.

Do not confuse the 100-lifetime achievement with the 26-mission S-rank requirement. The S rank is one run; the achievement total is cumulative across runs.

T-Spin Cleanup Before Adventurous Modes

If you have been using T-Spins naturally, check your T-Spin progress as described in Tracking Cumulative Progress before grinding. Otherwise, use a comfortable low-speed mode and repeatedly build a T-shaped slot under an overhang, rotate the T Tetrimino into the slot, and complete the line clear.

T-Spin line clears also preserve Back-to-Back chains, so this work contributes to the 500 Back-to-Back requirement.

T-Spin Break-In

Earn 10 lifetime T-Spins. The achievement unlocks when the 10th T-Spin is registered.

T-Spin King-Pin

Continue until the lifetime total reaches 100 T-Spins. This does not need to be done in one session or one mode.

Countdown — S Rank and Meteor Shower

Countdown asks you to score while extra I Tetriminos periodically fall into the field. The S target is 42,000. Endless is available if you prefer to keep the attempt alive beyond the normal timer.

On your first serious run, start with ten hard drops in a row.

Make a Wish

Hard drop 10 Tetriminos in a row during Countdown, with no soft-dropped or otherwise placed pieces in between. The meteor shower triggers from that streak, and the achievement unlocks when it appears. The I Tetriminos that periodically fall in this mode are a separate mechanic and do not trigger it.

After that, continue the run and finish the 42,000-point S requirement.

Purify — S Rank and 1,000 Infected Blocks

Purify is a downstacking mode. Prioritize clearing the violet infected blocks rather than building for ordinary score.

The S target is 400 infected blocks in one run. Earn it on standard Purify, not Endless: an Endless S rank has been reported not to count for Seriously? Seriously. Purify offers difficulty options, and Expert is the higher-yield choice because combos and line clears there remove more infected blocks. Aim for 400 or more; some sources list a lower threshold, but the S rank shown on the result screen is what counts.

PeniciIlin'

The 1,000 infected-block requirement is cumulative across Purify runs. It is not a one-run requirement.

First earn the S rank, then keep playing Purify until the lifetime infected-block total reaches 1,000. The achievement unlocks on the cumulative threshold.

Mystery — Finish the RNG Achievements While Chasing S

Mystery adds random field effects during a Marathon-style run. The S target is 300,000, and Endless is available.

Stay in Mystery until you have both the S rank and the two random-effect achievements below. Their effects are RNG, so no fixed number of attempts is guaranteed.

tceffE ediS sirteT

One Mystery effect reverses or flips the playfield. The achievement unlocks when that reversed-dimension effect occurs.

Keep playing Mystery until the effect appears. There is no separate action to perform once it activates.

Gold Mine

Another Mystery effect, the Bonus Rally, turns the Tetriminos golden and doubles your score. The achievement unlocks when that golden-block effect appears.

This is random, but it is reported to appear far more often at a high starting speed. Set Mystery's starting speed to 13 or higher (Endless is fine), survive, and keep playing until the golden effect appears. If the high speed makes the 300,000 S rank harder for you, earn the S rank in a separate run.

Final Rank Check

Before leaving Effect Modes, confirm S or better in every required original ranked entry:

  • Marathon
  • Ultra
  • Sprint
  • Master
  • Chill Marathon
  • Quick Play
  • Playlist: Sea
  • Playlist: Wind
  • Playlist: World
  • All Clear
  • Combo
  • Target
  • Countdown
  • Purify
  • Mystery

Also confirm S or better in all seven Journey Areas on the same difficulty, preferably Beginner.

Straight "A"s

This unlocks once every required original Effect Mode has at least an A rank. Because this route takes every required mode directly to S, it should unlock before or alongside your final S-rank cleanup.

If it has not unlocked, compare your Effect Mode results against the checklist above. Zone Marathon and Classic Score Attack are not part of the required legacy rank set.

Seriously? Seriously.

This is the main skill achievement on Xbox. It unlocks when all seven Journey Areas on one difficulty and every required original ranked Effect Mode have S rank or better.

The Xbox requirement is S, not SS. Do not spend time pushing modes to SS unless you want the score.

If the achievement has not unlocked after the checklist is complete, re-open every result screen and confirm that none is sitting at A. Pay special attention to all three Playlists and the modes where Endless was used, and make sure your Purify S is on the standard variant, not Endless.

Weekend Ritual — Time-Gated Cleanup

Complete One Ritual, Then Farm Event Avatars

The Weekend Ritual runs from Saturday 12:00 UTC to Sunday 12:00 UTC. During the event, one Effect Mode category is marked for the Ritual and eligible modes show the Event label.

You do not need to play competitive multiplayer. Use the single-player Effect Mode Event entries. Multiple weekends are not required: Event runs are repeatable for the full 24 hours, so one long session can finish the avatar count if duplicates allow. Playing whenever the Ritual is live during your completion simply spreads the grind out.

Weekend Warrior

Complete a run in an Effect Mode carrying the Event label during the active Weekend Ritual. The achievement unlocks for participating in the Ritual.

Do this on your first available weekend even if the rest of the guide is unfinished, so the time gate can never hold up the completion later.

Avatar Rockstar

The achievement requires 100 single-player avatars total. Multiplayer avatars do not count. Avatars come in colour variants (blue, red, and rainbow), and each variant counts as a separate avatar.

My Records challenges, such as Player Level milestones, the Expert Journey clear, and A ranks in each Effect Mode category, give roughly half of the avatars you need as you complete the rest of the guide. The rest must come from Weekend Ritual drops: each Event-labeled Effect Mode run finished at D rank or better gives a random single-player avatar.

Check the single-player avatar collection under Effect Modes, Edit, Avatar. Continue until the collection reaches 100 qualifying avatars.

Duplicates are common, do not count, and convert into Player Level experience instead, so there is no reliable fixed run count. Higher ranks are reported to improve the chance of rarer colour variants, so favor Event modes in which you can consistently earn a decent rank rather than intentionally failing immediately.

If the single-player collection shows 100 or more but the achievement has not unlocked, confirm the count excludes multiplayer avatars, restart the game, and finish another Event run during the next Ritual to prompt the check. This is a precaution, not a guaranteed fix.

Long-Term Cleanup — Finish the Grind Efficiently

Lines, Tetrises, and Back-to-Backs

At this point, check each remaining cumulative total before doing any dedicated grind, using the in-game statistics first and Xbox achievement progress only for totals the game does not show (see Tracking Cumulative Progress). Your Journey ranks, Effect Mode ranks, Purify, All Clear, and Weekend avatar runs should have supplied a large amount of progress.

For remaining line and Tetris work, use a comfortable long mode such as Chill Marathon or a long Quick Play setup. Keep a one-column well, clear Tetrises whenever possible, and preserve Back-to-Back chains.

Next In Line

This unlocks at 1,000 lifetime cleared lines. It will normally have unlocked well before final cleanup.

Got the Hang of It Now

This unlocks at 100 lifetime Tetris line clears.

If it is still missing, stop taking easy singles unless needed for survival and keep a clean one-column well for I Tetriminos.

BOOM! TETRIS!

Continue until the lifetime Tetris total reaches 500. This is cumulative across modes and sessions.

A long low-pressure mode is faster than restarting short attempts because you can maintain the same Tetris well for extended periods.

Back-to-Back Mack

Continue making Tetrises and T-Spin line clears without breaking the chain with ordinary line clears. The achievement unlocks at 500 lifetime Back-to-Backs.

This total is cumulative; the 500 do not need to be consecutive. Only Back-to-Back Attack required a single uninterrupted streak.

End of the Line

This unlocks at 10,000 lifetime cleared lines.

Do not grind 10,000 lines before finishing every other mode-specific achievement. Level 100, rotations, avatar farming, All Clears, Purify, and rank attempts all add lines. Only start a dedicated line grind once those are done.

Rotation Cleanup

Check your rotation total in the in-game statistics (Effect Modes, Y, then Y again). Xbox requires 100,000 rotations. Use this count rather than the Xbox progress display, which can lag behind it.

If a large amount remains, remap the rotation actions to controls you can alternate rapidly, then play a low-pressure mode such as All Clear or default Quick Play, rotating pieces constantly while keeping the board alive. Finish or end each session normally and return to the menu, then recheck the statistics screen so you can confirm the rotations saved.

Spin Artist

The achievement unlocks when the Xbox-version lifetime total reaches 100,000 Tetrimino rotations.

Do not use the older 1,000,000-rotation PlayStation requirement; that is not the Xbox target.

Player Level Cleanup

Player Level is driven by experience earned from completing modes and challenges. Do every achievement-specific activity first before farming levels, because almost the entire guide contributes experience.

For dedicated experience cleanup, default 30-line Quick Play is reliable: aim for 10,000 and an SS while keeping runs short. All Clear is a good alternative if you can solve its patterns quickly.

Certified Apprentice

Reach Player Level 10. This should unlock naturally during early Journey and Effect Mode work.

Certified Expert

Reach Player Level 30. Continue completing ranked Effect Modes and My Records challenges before considering any dedicated experience farm.

Certified Master

Reach Player Level 50. This should come naturally while finishing the S-rank set, Weekend Ritual avatars, and cumulative milestones.

Certified Grand Master

Reach Player Level 100.

This is usually the final pure grind after the S ranks and avatar work are finished. Keep repeating short modes you can clear consistently at high rank, with default 30-line Quick Play being the simplest repeatable option.

Once Player Level 100 is reached, recheck any remaining cumulative threshold using the in-game statistics, displayed result ranks, and the avatar collection first, and the Xbox achievement list second. If every achievement-specific total above is complete, the Xbox list is 42/42 and 1,000G.
