Xbox Version, Status, and Route Rules

The Xbox Series X|S and Windows release uses one Xbox Play Anywhere achievement list: 60 achievements worth 1,000G. Fifty belong to the base-game list and ten come from the included Shivering Isles expansion. Knights of the Nine and the other included legacy DLC have no additional achievements.

  • Online/co-op: None. Every achievement is single-player and can be earned offline.
  • CURRENTLY CONFIRMED UNOBTAINABLE: None as of 2026-09-15.
  • CURRENTLY CONFIRMED DISCONTINUED: None as of 2026-09-15.
  • Minimum practical playthroughs: One, plus one manual-save reload in Shivering Isles to earn both mutually exclusive Duke ranks.
  • Difficulty: No achievement requires a specific difficulty. Update 1.2 lets you separately reduce Enemy Combat Damage and increase Player Combat Damage; use the easiest settings if you want the fastest completion.
  • New Game+: Not required.
  • Post-game: The game continues after the main quest, so ordinary cleanup remains possible. There is no mission or chapter replay system for failed guild quest states, which makes manual saves important.
  • Critical route rule: Keep several rotating manual saves. Do not rely only on autosaves, especially before guild promotions, The Ultimate Heist, and the Shivering Isles Duke choice.
  • Windows players: Never submit text or commands in the developer console on your achievement save. Community reports indicate that submitting any console input, even by accident, disables achievements for that save and for saves made from it afterward; merely opening and closing the console has not been shown to cause this. This is community-reported behavior, not an official Bethesda statement. Several stuck-quest fixes that circulate online rely on console commands, so this guide uses reloading an earlier manual save as the recovery method instead. If console input was submitted, fully exit the game without saving, relaunch, and reload a clean save made before that input; this is not a confirmed fix. Xbox console players are unaffected.
PATCHED / NO LONGER A CURRENT ISSUE: Update 1.1 and Update 1.2 fixed a number of launch-era quest blockers and Shivering Isles pathing/crash problems. This route assumes the Xbox version is fully updated through Update 1.2 or later.

One-Playthrough Route

Use this order for a clean achievement run: tutorial, Arena, Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, main quest, then Shivering Isles. The faction order is not mandatory, but it keeps criminal guild work away from the lawful guilds, lets you save five Ectoplasm from the Mages Guild for a later Fighters Guild contract, and delays random Oblivion Gates until the dedicated main-story phase.

Do not attack, steal from, or murder members of a guild you are currently completing unless the quest explicitly tells you to. Some faction expulsions can become permanent after repeated violations.

Imperial Prison and Sewer Tutorial

Escape to Cyrodiil

Build any character you enjoy. There are no class, race, skill, or level achievements, so a completion-focused character only needs reliable damage, healing, and enough carrying capacity to avoid constant inventory stops. Before leaving the sewers, make any final character changes you want and set combat difficulty as low as desired.

Escaped the Imperial Sewers

Follow the tutorial until you reach the final sewer grate. The achievement unlocks when you leave the Imperial Sewers and enter the open world.

From here, fast-travel to the Imperial City Arena and finish that ladder first. Do not begin the main quest at Kvatch yet; postponing it keeps random Oblivion Gates from appearing during the faction route.

Imperial City Arena

Join and Clear the Arena Ladder

Enter the Arena Bloodworks, speak with Owyn, choose your Arena Raiment, and keep the required raiment equipped whenever you are sent into a match. Fight the matches back to back, returning to Owyn after each win. The rank achievements trigger on the appropriate promotions, not simply when the opponent dies.

The optional Origin of the Gray Prince quest is not required for any achievement. Skip it if you only care about completion speed.

Pit Dog, Arena

Join the Arena through Owyn in the Bloodworks. The achievement unlocks when you are accepted as an Arena combatant and receive the Pit Dog rank.

Brawler, Arena

Win your first three Arena matches and report back to Owyn after the third. The achievement unlocks when he promotes you to Brawler.

Bloodletter, Arena

Continue winning until you have six total Arena victories. Return to Owyn after the sixth win for the Bloodletter promotion and achievement.

Myrmidon, Arena

Reach nine total Arena wins, then report to Owyn. The achievement unlocks with the Myrmidon promotion.

Warrior, Arena

Reach twelve total Arena wins and return to Owyn. The promotion to Warrior triggers the achievement.

Gladiator, Arena

Reach fifteen total Arena wins, then speak with Owyn. The achievement unlocks when you become a Gladiator.

Hero, Arena

Reach eighteen total Arena wins and report back. The achievement unlocks with the Hero promotion.

Champion, Arena

Win the twenty-first standard Arena match and report to Owyn. The achievement unlocks when he promotes you to Champion and sends you toward the Grand Champion fight.

Grand Champion, Arena

Challenge Agronak gro-Malog, the Gray Prince, through Ysabel Andronicus and defeat him in the Arena. Return for the final ceremony and reward. The achievement unlocks when the Arena questline completes and you receive the Grand Champion title.

You can now leave the Arena permanently. Next, begin the Mages Guild while your record is still clean.

Mages Guild

Join and Earn the Seven Recommendations

Join at any city Mages Guild hall. The first major gate is admission to the Arcane University, which requires recommendation quests from Anvil, Bravil, Bruma, Cheydinhal, Chorrol, Leyawiin, and Skingrad. Their order is flexible; this route uses the city circuit below only for consistency.

HISTORICALLY REPORTED BUG: The remaster retained a rank-skip problem in which accepting the next Mages Guild task before claiming an available advancement can skip an achievement rank. After every major assignment, speak to Raminus Polus and choose Advancement before accepting the next task. The most important checkpoints are after Vahtacen's Secret and after returning both The Bloodworm Helm and The Necromancer's Amulet.

Associate, Mages Guild

Ask to join at a Mages Guild hall and complete the joining dialogue. The achievement unlocks when you are accepted as an Associate.

Three recommendations have known blockers. Read these before you start the circuit; each can stop you reaching Apprentice, and with it every later Mages Guild achievement:

  • Bravil: Kud-Ei also offers Through a Nightmare, Darkly. Having both quests active at once can make the recommendation vanish from your journal. Ask her for the recommendation task and finish it before accepting Through a Nightmare, Darkly. If both are already active, complete Through a Nightmare, Darkly first, then return to Kud-Ei. If her recommendation dialogue does not appear, look for her in her room late at night. Dialogue lists can extend below the visible area, so scroll down before assuming an option is missing.
  • Anvil: Do not rent a bed at Brina Cross Inn before starting this recommendation, because doing so can break the questline.
  • Cheydinhal: Retrieve the ring in one trip down the well. Leaving it behind for several in-game days has been reported to make the body you need disappear; the exact timing on current Remastered is not confirmed, so do not leave and come back later.

Complete the recommendation quests. In Anvil, expose the murderer connected to Brina Cross Inn. In Bravil, recover the stolen staff: track down the thief, Varon Vamori, learn that he sold it to Soris Arenim in the Imperial City, then buy, persuade, or steal it back. In Bruma, help Volanaro with the prank that reveals J'skar. In Cheydinhal, recover Falcar's Ring of Burden from the well. In Chorrol, recover Fingers of the Mountain and return it to Teekeeus for the straightforward recommendation route. In Leyawiin, recover Dagail's Seer's Stone. In Skingrad, rescue Erthor from Bleak Flats Cave and clear enough enemies that he agrees to leave with you.

Apprentice, Mages Guild

After all seven recommendations, travel to the Arcane University and speak with Raminus Polus. The achievement unlocks when he formally promotes you to Apprentice and grants access to the University.

Arcane University Early Assignments

Journeyman, Mages Guild

Complete A Mage's Staff. Choose the wood and spell effect you want, collect the unfinished staff from Wellspring Cave, resolve the necromancer attack, and return to Raminus. Ask for Advancement before taking another assignment. The promotion to Journeyman unlocks the achievement.

Evoker, Mages Guild

Complete Ulterior Motives by dealing with Count Janus Hassildor's request in Skingrad and returning to Raminus. Ask for Advancement. The achievement unlocks when you are promoted to Evoker.

Conjurer, Mages Guild

Complete Vahtacen's Secret. At the central pillar, apply the required effects in this order: Fire Damage, Frost Damage, Damage Magicka, Fortify Magicka. The nearby chest supplies scrolls that can provide the needed effects if your character cannot cast them naturally.

When you return from Vahtacen, do not immediately accept Necromancer's Moon. Ask Raminus for Advancement first. The Conjurer promotion triggers the achievement.

While clearing undead and ghost-heavy Mages Guild locations, keep five Ectoplasm instead of selling it. You will use it later in the Fighters Guild quest Drunk and Disorderly.

Magician, Mages Guild

Complete Necromancer's Moon. At Dark Fissure, obtain proof of the black soul gem ritual, then return to Raminus. Ask for Advancement before taking the next task. The promotion to Magician unlocks the achievement.

Necromancer War

Warlock, Mages Guild

Complete Liberation or Apprehension?. Follow the quest through Nenyond Twyll and locate Mucianus Allias. Fithragaer is part of the scripted sequence around the trap; do not deliberately kill him yourself if he stalls. Finish the objective, report back, then claim Advancement from Raminus. The Warlock promotion unlocks the achievement.

Wizard, Mages Guild

Complete Information at a Price and then A Plot Revealed. The second quest takes you through the destroyed Bruma Mages Guild to find J'skar and report what happened. Return to the Arcane University and ask Raminus for Advancement. The achievement unlocks when you are promoted to Wizard.

Master-Wizard, Mages Guild

Hannibal Traven gives The Bloodworm Helm and The Necromancer's Amulet together. Complete both in either order, return both artifacts, then go directly to Raminus and choose Advancement before accepting Ambush from Traven. The achievement unlocks when Raminus promotes you to Master-Wizard.

This is the second critical Mages Guild rank checkpoint. Make a manual save before handing in the second artifact if you want a clean recovery point.

Arch-Mage, Mages Guild

Complete Ambush, then Confront the King. Fight through Echo Cave, defeat Mannimarco, and return to the Arcane University. Finish the final Mages Guild conversations. The achievement unlocks when the questline completes and you become Arch-Mage.

The Mages Guild is finished. Keep the five Ectoplasm you saved and move to the Fighters Guild.

Fighters Guild

Early Contracts and Promotions

Join through Azzan in Anvil, Burz gro-Khash in Cheydinhal, or Vilena Donton in Chorrol. This route uses the Anvil and Cheydinhal contracts in their normal progression.

HISTORICALLY REPORTED BUG: A launch-version report dated 2025-04-30 describes Remastered players becoming stuck at Defender, unable to receive Infiltration. The cause is a scripted demotion plus quest order, not a random fault. Trolls of Forsaken Mine triggers a demotion to Defender, and Infiltration is not offered until you are back at Champion. Players who took Information Gathering before finishing the remaining guildmaster contracts were stranded, and the only community fix uses console commands that disable achievements. Follow the Champion Checkpoint order below exactly. After every contract hand-in, ask the available guildmaster for Advancement until no promotion is offered.

Associate, Fighters Guild

Join the Fighters Guild while you have no active bounty. The achievement unlocks when you are formally accepted as an Associate.

Start with A Rat Problem in Anvil or The Desolate Mine in Cheydinhal. This route does A Rat Problem first.

Apprentice, Fighters Guild

Complete A Rat Problem and return to Azzan. Ask for Advancement. The achievement unlocks when you receive the Apprentice rank.

Travel to Cheydinhal and complete The Desolate Mine, then return to Burz. Go back to Anvil for The Unfortunate Shopkeeper.

Journeyman, Fighters Guild

Complete The Unfortunate Shopkeeper and return to Azzan. Ask for Advancement. The Journeyman promotion triggers the achievement.

Modryn Oreyn and the Blackwood Company

Swordsman, Fighters Guild

Report to Modryn Oreyn in Chorrol and complete Unfinished Business. Then complete Drunk and Disorderly. When Margarte asks for five Ectoplasm before she will employ the three guild members, hand over the five you saved from the Mages Guild. Return to Modryn and claim Advancement. The promotion to Swordsman unlocks the achievement.

Protector, Fighters Guild

Complete Amelion's Debt and Den of Thieves. If you have spare gold and want the fastest route through Amelion's Debt, paying Biene Amelion's debt directly is sufficient; retrieving the family equipment is optional for achievement purposes. Return after both contracts and claim Advancement. The Protector promotion unlocks the achievement.

Defender, Fighters Guild

Complete The Master's Son and More Unfinished Business. In The Master's Son, make sure Viranus Donton actually follows you into Nonwyll Cavern before you push deep into the dungeon; if he fails to transition, exit and re-enter rather than clearing the objective without him. Turn in both assignments and claim Advancement. The Defender promotion unlocks the achievement.

Warder, Fighters Guild

Complete Azani Blackheart with Modryn. Stay with him through the transitions between Arpenia and Atatar, kill Azani Blackheart, and take Blackheart's Ring. As soon as Azani is dead and Modryn's closing dialogue becomes available, ask Modryn for Advancement before leaving Atatar. The Warder promotion unlocks the achievement.

Guardian, Fighters Guild

Complete The Fugitives and The Wandering Scholar for the guildmasters, then claim Advancement. The achievement unlocks when you receive the Guardian rank.

Champion Checkpoint and Final Blackwood Operation

From Guardian onward, the order matters. Make a named manual save before starting Trolls of Forsaken Mine; this is your pre-Champion save. Then follow this sequence exactly:

  1. Take Trolls of Forsaken Mine from Modryn Oreyn in Chorrol and complete it. Do this before any of the remaining guildmaster contracts.
  2. Speak to Azzan and receive the scripted demotion to Defender. This is intended. Your Warder and Guardian achievements are already on your profile and are not lost.
  3. Complete The Stone of St. Alessia, then claim Advancement.
  4. Complete The Noble's Daughter, then claim Advancement.
  5. Complete Mystery at Harlun's Watch, then claim Advancement.
  6. Keep asking for Advancement after every hand-in until your rank is explicitly Champion.
  7. Only then speak to Modryn about Information Gathering.
CURRENTLY COMMUNITY-FLAGGED / BUGGY: As of 2026-10-02, players report that Mystery at Harlun's Watch can stall if Swampy Cave was cleared before the quest was received. Do not intentionally clear Swampy Cave before you have this contract. If it was already cleared and the quest stalls, leave the area and wait roughly 3-5 in-game days for the cave to reset, then retry. If it still fails, reload your named pre-Champion save.

Do not start Information Gathering while you are below Champion, and do not take the post-Trolls contracts before Trolls of Forsaken Mine is finished.

Champion, Fighters Guild

The achievement unlocks when the guild grants the Champion promotion after the three post-Trolls contracts, not when the last contract itself ends. Check your rank before speaking to Modryn for Information Gathering.

Make a named manual save now. This is a preventative recovery point before the final Blackwood Company quests.

Master, Fighters Guild

Complete Information Gathering first. Capture Ajum-Kajin alive, escort him to Modryn's house, and interrogate him there. Raise his disposition or use the quest's intimidation method until he answers the required questions; after he reveals the Blackwood Company information, the scene resolves with his death. Do not kill him yourself before the interrogation is complete.

Then complete Infiltration by entering the Blackwood Company, participating in its assignment, and reporting what happened. Infiltration is only offered once you hold the Champion rank. Finish with The Hist: clear the Blackwood Company Hall, destroy the Hist machinery, and return to Modryn and then Vilena Donton. Complete the final advancement conversation. The achievement unlocks when you are promoted to Master and the Fighters Guild questline is complete.

With both lawful guilds finished, move to the Thieves Guild.

Thieves Guild

Find the Gray Fox and Start Fencing

Read a Gray Fox wanted poster or ask a beggar about the Gray Fox until you learn about the midnight meeting in the Garden of Dareloth at the Imperial City Waterfront. Meet Armand Christophe and win May the Best Thief Win by stealing Amantius Allectus' Diary and returning it first.

From this point onward, fence stolen property whenever you pass a fence. The required values are cumulative lifetime fenced value for this questline, so you do not need to carry the threshold in one load. Expensive stolen armor, weapons, jewelry, silverware, and alchemy equipment make the thresholds quick.

Pickpocket, Thieves Guild

Return the diary to Armand and finish the initiation. The achievement unlocks when he admits you to the Thieves Guild as a Pickpocket.

Armand Christophe Jobs

Fence at least 50 gold worth of stolen property, then ask Armand for a special job.

Footpad, Thieves Guild

Complete Untaxing the Poor by stealing the waterfront tax records and money from Hieronymus Lex's quarters, then return to Armand. The achievement unlocks when he promotes you to Footpad.

Raise your cumulative fenced value to at least 100 gold before requesting the next special job.

Bandit, Thieves Guild

Complete The Elven Maiden. Steal Llathasa's Bust from the Chapel Undercroft in Cheydinhal, then follow Armand's plan to frame Myvryna Arano. Avoid killing the chapel guard; a clean theft is both faster and safer for the guild. Finish the hand-in and the achievement unlocks with the Bandit promotion.

S'krivva Jobs

You now work through S'krivva in Bravil. Continue fencing between assignments.

Prowler, Thieves Guild

Reach 200 total fenced gold and complete Ahdarji's Heirloom. Recover the ring and return it through S'krivva's quest. The achievement unlocks when you are promoted to Prowler.

Cat Burglar, Thieves Guild

Reach 300 total fenced gold and complete Misdirection, using the guild's coordinated theft to pull Hieronymus Lex away from the Waterfront. Finish the job and report back to S'krivva. The Cat Burglar promotion triggers the achievement.

Shadowfoot, Thieves Guild

Reach 400 fenced gold and complete Lost Histories; this job advances the questline but grants no rank. Then raise the cumulative total to 500 and complete Taking Care of Lex. The achievement unlocks when Taking Care of Lex earns you the Shadowfoot promotion.

Gray Fox Jobs and The Ultimate Heist

From here the Gray Fox gives the remaining special jobs through messengers. Keep fencing until each next threshold is met.

Master Thief, Thieves Guild

Reach 600 fenced gold and complete Turning a Blind Eye; this job grants no rank. Then reach 700 and complete Arrow of Extrication. The achievement unlocks when Arrow of Extrication earns you the Master Thief promotion from the Gray Fox.

Reach 800 fenced gold and complete Boots of Springheel Jak. Then raise the cumulative fenced total to 1,000 to unlock The Ultimate Heist.

Make a named manual save before entering the Elder Scrolls Library sequence during The Ultimate Heist. This is a true completion safeguard. If the scripted handoff fails and you leave without the Elder Scroll, the final Thieves Guild progression can become unrecoverable on that save.

Guildmaster, Thieves Guild

In The Ultimate Heist, follow the Old Way and Imperial Palace route until you reach the Elder Scrolls Library. Sit in the designated chair and let the Blind Moth Monk sequence play out. Do not stand up early. Wait until the monk physically hands you the Elder Scroll, then confirm the Elder Scroll is in your inventory before leaving. Make another manual save after you have it. If the chair sequence freezes, reload your pre-Library save. On Windows, do not use console commands to escape it; that has been reported to stop this achievement unlocking even after the questline was finished.

Escape using the Boots of Springheel Jak as directed, return the Elder Scroll to the Gray Fox, then follow his final instructions to Countess Millona Umbranox in Anvil. Finish the reunion and final guild dialogue. The achievement unlocks when The Ultimate Heist completes and you become Guildmaster.

The Thieves Guild is finished. Do not start another criminal faction until this promotion has registered.

Dark Brotherhood

Initiation and Vicente Valtieri Contracts

To attract the Dark Brotherhood, murder an innocent nonessential NPC that you have confirmed is not needed for an unfinished quest, then sleep in a safe bed. Lucien Lachance will contact you and order you to kill Rufio at the Inn of Ill Omen. Kill Rufio, sleep again, and finish Lucien's second visit.

Murderer, Dark Brotherhood

The achievement unlocks during the joining sequence after Rufio is dead and Lucien returns to induct you into the Dark Brotherhood. Follow his instructions to the abandoned house in Cheydinhal and enter the Sanctuary to continue.

Slayer, Dark Brotherhood

Complete A Watery Grave and Accidents Happen for Vicente Valtieri. Bonus conditions are not achievement requirements, so prioritize the reliable kill and return. The achievement unlocks when the second contract is turned in and you receive the Slayer rank.

Eliminator, Dark Brotherhood

Complete Scheduled for Execution and The Assassinated Man. In The Assassinated Man, strike Francois Motierre with the supplied Languorwine Blade as instructed; do not kill him normally. Escape, wait for the quest to advance, revive him with the supplied antidote, and escort him to safety. Return to Vicente. The achievement unlocks when you are promoted to Eliminator.

Ocheeva Contracts

Assassin, Dark Brotherhood

Complete The Lonely Wanderer, Bad Medicine, Whodunit?, and Permanent Retirement. The bonus objectives are optional for achievements. After Permanent Retirement, return to Ocheeva and finish the rank conversation. The achievement unlocks when you become an Assassin.

Purification and the Dead Drops

Silencer, Dark Brotherhood

Meet Lucien at Fort Farragut. The hollow tree northwest of the fort provides the convenient hidden entrance. At this first meeting Lucien gives you The Purification. Complete it: return to the Cheydinhal Sanctuary, kill every required Sanctuary member, then return to Lucien at Fort Farragut. The achievement unlocks during that report-back conversation, when Lucien awards the Silencer rank; he also gives you Shadowmere and unlocks the dead drops.

After this point the questline shifts to dead drops. Complete them in the order the game gives them: Affairs of a Wizard, Next of Kin, Broken Vows, Final Justice, A Matter of Honor, The Coldest Sleep, A Kiss Before Dying, and Following a Lead. Update 1.2 specifically fixed a crash and pathing issue in Flooded Mine during Final Justice, so make sure the game is current if you encounter old reports about that section.

Speaker, Dark Brotherhood

Finish Following a Lead and reach the Black Hand sequence at Applewatch. Complete the conversation that elevates you into the Black Hand. The achievement unlocks when you receive the Speaker rank.

Listener, Dark Brotherhood

After Following a Lead, speak with Arquen at Applewatch between midnight and 3:00 AM. Travel with the Black Hand to the Night Mother's crypt in Bravil, survive the betrayal, kill the traitor, and speak with the Night Mother. The achievement unlocks when she promotes you to Listener, completing the Dark Brotherhood questline.

All five major faction questlines are now complete. Move to the main quest.

Main Quest

Weynon Priory, Kvatch, and the First Oblivion Gate

Deliver the Amulet of Kings to Jauffre at Weynon Priory, then travel to Kvatch for Find the Heir. The first required Oblivion Gate is outside the city.

Closed an Oblivion Gate

Enter the Kvatch Oblivion Gate during Breaking the Siege of Kvatch, climb the main tower, and take the Sigil Stone. The achievement unlocks when the gate collapses and you return to Cyrodiil.

Finish the Kvatch fighting, find Martin, return to Weynon Priory, and escort him to Cloud Ruler Temple.

The Mythic Dawn

Work through The Path of Dawn. Obtain the four Mythic Dawn Commentaries and use Tar-Meena's clues to reveal the hidden map at the Tomb of Prince Camarril in the Imperial City.

Located the Shrine of Dagon

At the Tomb of Prince Camarril, wait for the correct midday window so the red symbol on the tomb becomes active, then interact with it to reveal the location of the Mythic Dawn shrine. The achievement unlocks when the shrine location is discovered; you do not need to finish the Lake Arrius Caverns infiltration first.

Proceed to Dagon Shrine, infiltrate the Mythic Dawn, recover the Mysterium Xarxes, and return it to Martin. Complete Spies next.

Blood of the Daedra and Bruma Preparations

Martin next requires one qualifying Daedric Artifact for Blood of the Daedra. The artifact you hand over is permanently consumed by the main quest.

Delivered Daedric Artifact

Complete any qualifying Daedric Shrine quest and hand its artifact to Martin at Cloud Ruler Temple. Martin points you toward Azura's Star, and because this route reaches the main quest after all guilds, you will comfortably meet the shrine requirements. For pure completion speed, Azura's Star is a straightforward choice if you do not care about keeping the reusable soul gem. The achievement unlocks when Martin accepts the artifact and Blood of the Daedra advances.

Complete Bruma Gate and Blood of the Divines. Allies for Bruma is optional for achievements and is not required to finish the main quest, so a completion-focused run can skip the city-by-city reinforcement detour. Continue through Miscarcand.

HISTORICALLY REPORTED BUG: Remastered players reported in 2025, before Update 1.2, that Defense of Bruma would not start, describing it as a carry-over from the original game. After returning with the Great Welkynd Stone, make a manual save and let Martin and Jauffre finish their entire conversation about the Great Sigil Stone before you speak to Martin. If the quest still will not advance, reload that save rather than using console fixes.

Then start Defense of Bruma and follow it through to the Great Gate.

The Great Gate

Make a manual save before entering the Great Gate. Once inside, a fifteen-minute quest timer is active. On easy settings, ignore unnecessary fights, follow the tower route, and prioritize reaching the Great Sigil Stone.

Destroyed the Great Gate

Take the Great Sigil Stone before the timer expires. The achievement unlocks when the Great Gate collapses and you return to the battlefield outside Bruma.

Paradise and the Imperial City Finale

Use the Great Sigil Stone and the Mysterium Xarxes to enter Paradise. Fight through Mankar Camoran's realm, defeat him, recover the Amulet of Kings, and return to Cyrodiil. Continue into Light the Dragonfires and escort Martin through the Imperial City to the Temple of the One.

Champion of Cyrodiil

Complete Light the Dragonfires and the final Mehrunes Dagon sequence. The achievement unlocks when Martin's final transformation defeats Dagon and the main questline completes.

The game remains playable after the ending. For this route, however, all base-game achievements should already be complete. Travel to the Strange Door in Niben Bay for Shivering Isles.

Shivering Isles

The Strange Door and The Fringe

The expansion is included with Oblivion Remastered. Entering it does not require finishing the base-game main quest, but doing it last creates the cleanest one-playthrough achievement route.

Tourist, Shivering Isles

Enter the Strange Door in Niben Bay, speak with Haskill, accept entry into the realm, and pass into The Fringe. The achievement unlocks when you enter the Shivering Isles.

Aspirant, Shivering Isles

Complete Through the Fringe of Madness. Find a way past the Gatekeeper, obtain the needed key, pass through the Gates of Madness, and reach Sheogorath in New Sheoth. The Mania or Dementia gate you use here does not determine which Duke achievement you can earn later. The achievement unlocks when the quest completes and you receive the Aspirant rank.

Xedilian

Citizen, Shivering Isles

Complete A Better Mousetrap, then Baiting the Trap at Xedilian. Restore the dungeon's judgment system, decide the fates of the intruders as they pass through its chambers, deal with the Knights of Order, and speak to Kiliban. The achievement unlocks when Baiting the Trap is complete and you become a Citizen.

Understanding Madness

Sheogorath next sends you into the rival courts of Mania and Dementia. Complete both halves of Understanding Madness: Addiction for Thadon and The Lady of Paranoia for Syl.

Madman, Shivering Isles

Finish both court assignments and return through the Understanding Madness quest. The achievement unlocks when the quest completes and Sheogorath raises you to Madman.

The Cold Flame of Agnon

Complete The Cold Flame of Agnon by resolving the conflict at Cylarne, lighting the Flame of Agnon, and bringing the flame back to New Sheoth. Choosing which side receives the flame changes the immediate reward but does not lock you out of either Duke achievement.

Honored Madman, Shivering Isles

Complete The Cold Flame of Agnon and finish Sheogorath's follow-up. The achievement unlocks when you receive the Honored Madman rank.

TRUE MISSABLE SAVE BRANCH: Make a named manual save now, after The Cold Flame of Agnon and before telling Sheogorath which ruler you will replace during Ritual of Accession. Duke Dementia and Duke Mania are mutually exclusive on one uninterrupted quest state. This one save lets you earn both without replaying the expansion.

Ritual of Accession Save Branch

Earn one Duke achievement, reload the branch save, earn the other, then continue on whichever branch you prefer. The later Shivering Isles achievements are available from either branch.

Duke Dementia, Shivering Isles

From the branch save, tell Sheogorath you will replace Syl. Complete Ritual of Dementia by uncovering her escape route, pursuing her, killing her, taking her heart, and returning it to the Sacellum Arden-Sul for the ritual. The achievement unlocks when the ritual completes and you become Duke of Dementia.

Reload the branch save after the achievement has registered.

Duke Mania, Shivering Isles

This time tell Sheogorath you will replace Thadon. Complete Ritual of Mania: follow the Greenmote lead, obtain the poison, and place Greenmote in both Thadon's food and his wine during the afternoon, well before his 8 PM feast. Some activations reportedly fail at the wrong time of day; if one does, wait and try again before evening rather than skipping ahead. Attend the 8 PM feast, take Thadon's blood from his body, and complete the ritual at the Sacellum Arden-Sul altar. His body disappears when the quest ends. The achievement unlocks when you become Duke of Mania.

After both achievements are on your profile, keep whichever branch save you prefer and continue forward.

The Greymarch Begins

Complete Retaking the Fringe and Rebuilding the Gatekeeper. The specific court troops and dialogue vary with your chosen Duke branch, but both branches converge on the same achievement progression.

Regent, Shivering Isles

Finish Rebuilding the Gatekeeper and return to Sheogorath. The achievement unlocks when the story promotes you to Regent.

The Helpless Army

Complete The Helpless Army. The location and faction presentation reflect your Mania or Dementia branch, but the required story outcome is equivalent: assist the allied force, restore its objective, and finish the quest.

Defender, Shivering Isles

Finish The Helpless Army and its closing conversation. The achievement unlocks when you receive the Defender of the Realm rank.

Staff of Sheogorath and The End of Order

Proceed through Symbols of Office and The Roots of Madness to rebuild the Staff of Sheogorath and restore the Fountainhead. Continue into The End of Order, close the remaining Order threat, and face Jyggalag. Update 1.2 fixed a crash that could occur during the Jyggalag fight, so an updated game is strongly recommended before this finale.

Madgod, Shivering Isles

Defeat Jyggalag and finish the final Shivering Isles conversation. The achievement unlocks when the Greymarch is stopped and you inherit Sheogorath's position as Madgod.

At this point the Xbox list should read 60/60 achievements and 1,000/1,000G. If anything is missing, it should be a faction rank that failed to register rather than an untracked collectible or grind; use the manual saves recommended at the Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, Thieves Guild, and Ritual of Accession checkpoints to recover the affected branch without replaying the entire game.
