▶Before You Start
TUNIC has 36 achievements worth 1,000 Gamerscore on one shared list for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Windows (Xbox Play Anywhere). There is no DLC. 30 of the 36 are hidden until unlocked.
- Online: none. Everything is single-player and offline.
- Unobtainable achievements: none known as of October 2026.
- Playthroughs: one main save plus a 10-15 minute side save for Bring it to the wrong fight. You never need New Game+.
- Difficulty: there are no difficulty, speed, deathless, or no-damage achievements.
- Accessibility: No Fail Mode and No Stamina Restrictions (Options > Accessibility) do not disable achievements. Turn them on whenever you like, but only after you have died once for What just happened?.
- Puzzles: most of the late achievements are Holy Cross puzzles. The Holy Cross is the D-pad. You enter codes by pressing directions while the game is unpaused, and it works from the very start. Codes below use U, D, L and R.
▶Things You Can Miss
TUNIC has no permanent point of no return. Beating the Heir with an incomplete manual gives a Retry option that puts you back before the fight with all your progress. Three things still need care:
- Bring it to the wrong fight: the gun must be picked up before the sword. On your main save this is gone the moment you take the sword, so do it on a separate save first (see the next section).
- Too Cute To Smash: you must hold 10 Effigies (the moneybank item) at the same time. There are 12 in a playthrough. Never use or smash them. If you break three or more, you can only recover the achievement in New Game+.
- Game Over: this only comes from defeating the Heir. Do the final fight before you finish the manual, then pick Retry. This route leaves the Mountain Door (front cover and page 1) for after the fight.
▶How Progress Works
- Manual: 28 two-page sheets, from the front cover and page 1 through page 54 and the back cover. Your manual shows which spreads you are missing.
- Fairies: 20 in total, freed with Holy Cross codes at clues in the world. Your count is shown at the Secret Gathering Place behind the waterfall next to the Overworld entrance to the Dark Tomb. The fairy-finder code U L U R D R, entered anywhere, sends guiding lights toward any fairy left nearby. Some references add a final R; if one version does nothing, try the other, or trace the clue on manual page 47.
- Gold coins: 17 in a playthrough (15 in chests, plus 2 sold in shops for 999 each). Well done! needs 15, and the 15 chest coins are enough. Equip a coin to a button and use it next to any well. Using a coin away from a well does not waste it. There is no collected-coin counter: the coin count in your inventory only shows coins you haven't thrown yet. To see your wish count, use a well with no coin equipped. Finish all 15 wishes on your main save, because wishes are not confirmed to carry into New Game+.
- Effigies: 12 in a playthrough, all in chests. None can be bought. Your inventory stack is the only counter, so check that it matches the number of Effigy chests you have opened.
- Secret treasures: 12, one achievement each. Each unlocks when you open its chest.
- Hero's Laurels (the dash): this is the Cathedral's Prize. A big share of the late collectibles need it, so the route deliberately leaves dash-locked items for the Spirit World section.
▶Side Save: Bring it to the wrong fight
▶The Gun Before the Sword
▶Bring it to the wrong fight
Required: open the gun chest in the Quarry before you ever pick up the sword. The achievement unlocks when you take the gun.
Start a new game in a separate save slot. Do not use New Game+. The whole route takes about 5 minutes once you know it. Allow longer on your first attempt.
- Up the stairs from the beach, the stick is in the chest in the doorway left of the first stairs, behind a mailbox. Put it on a button. Never touch the sword on this save. Stay away from the East Forest Hero's Grave and the West Garden, because a second sword sits in a West Garden chest.
- Enter the free fire bomb code: L U R D R U R D R U R D L. It works from the start without manual page 17, but only once, so equip the bomb and don't waste it. As a backup, the free explosive bomb code D R U R U L U L D L D R works the same way.
- Now open Options > Accessibility. Turn on No Fail Mode and No Stamina Restrictions. Auto-Open Sequence Assistance, which lets you queue a whole code, only appears after you have entered a code once. Turn it on too if it's there.
- Head east from the stick cave through the tall grass to a wall of bushes. Throw the fire bomb at them.
- Straight ahead is a silver door with engraved lines. Stand in front of it and enter D L U R U L. If nothing happens, try its mirror, D R U L U R. A wrong code costs nothing. Open the card chest that appears; the card shows as ??? in the card menu. Equip it in the empty card slot. It sets your stick on fire and drops you to 1 HP, which No Fail Mode makes harmless. Hit a bush to check that it ignites.
- Go slightly west of the door and take the ladder up. At the top, take the next ladder up on your right. Ignore the hidden tree path there, which only leads to a side chest. Take the third ladder up to a metal signpost. Go up the stairs and burn through the bush wall with your stick. This is the East Forest entrance.
- Don't take the staircase with the lever shortcut. Instead, take the hidden path just to its right and follow it north toward the Fortress of the Eastern Vault. At the junction with Blue Slimes, keep going north rather than east. Interact with the end of the bridge to lower it.
- Take the ladders up the snowy mountain to the Mountain Door. Ignore the door and the pages on its steps.
- Just right of the door, behind the rocks, is a gap in the stone wall with a hidden staircase down into the back of the Quarry.
- Take the spiral staircase down to the west, head south, then go around east to a second spiral staircase down. Walk the southern road down about five ramps, avoiding the pink miasma and crystals. A slightly hidden path heads west behind the miasma. Past three Scavenger snipers is the firing range, and the gun chest sits on the small metal platform at the left. The achievement can pop as you reach the chest, even if sniper fire interrupts the pickup.
You can delete this save afterwards. Do not reuse it for the main run.
▶Main Save: The Overworld Opening
▶The Beach
Make a fresh save. Leave No Fail Mode off until you have died once.
▶A Stick!
A Stick!10G
The chest in the doorway to the left of the first set of stairs holds the stick. The achievement unlocks when you open it.
▶What just happened?
Open the first golden door and let an enemy beyond it kill you. Then walk up to the blue fox spirit to complete the resurrection sequence. The achievement unlocks as that sequence finishes, not just on respawning. Don't rely on the scripted Heir fight for this. Make sure the achievement has unlocked before you turn on No Fail Mode.
▶Back to Work
Back to Work50G
Secret Treasure #9. Stand on the golden warp pad on the starting beach and enter R D L U L L D R R D D. The chest appears and the achievement unlocks when you open it.
While you are on the pad, hold the interact button to pray. This warps you to the spirit version of the pad and gives you manual pages 2-3.
▶Lawnmower
Lawnmower20G
Cut or burn 1,000 blades of grass. The count carries over through the save, and stick, sword and fire all count. Large clumps count as many blades. Slash every patch you pass and it will unlock on its own during the route.
▶The Overworld Villages
▶Collectibles · 4 4 collectibles
Overworld: Western Bridge — down the long stairs and bridge toward the Ruined Atoll, beside a blue Rudeling, just south of the Envoy guarding a key.
Overworld: Above the First Locked Door — up the ladders north of the pages 10-11 house and west through the trees to the ledge above its door.
Overworld: Changing Room — hidden stairs behind the trees at the foot of the headless fox statue's spiral staircase near the Old House.
Overworld: Beach Under the Bridge — behind the waterfall at the base of the ladder south of the Old House, then a short way east under the bridge.
▶Too Cute To Smash
This is the start of a whole-game requirement. Every Effigy you find goes into your inventory. Do not use them. You need 10 in your inventory at the same time, and the achievement unlocks when the tenth goes in. There are 12, all in chests, so you have two spare. The route marks each one as it comes up. The first two are in the Overworld:
- Effigy (western bridge): at the far south of the Overworld, go down the long stairs and the bridge toward the Ruined Atoll. The chest is next to a blue Rudeling, just south of the Envoy that guards a key. That key opens the Old House; grab it now.
- Effigy (above the first locked door): do the key and the pages 10-11 house first (see Mr Mayor). From the route past that building, climb the ladders to the north and walk west through the big trees. The path is hidden. The chest is on the ledge above the locked door.
▶You hear a strange hum
Hold interact on any black obelisk until it lights up and sinks. You need to do this to progress, so it comes naturally early on.
▶Your gift is accepted
Offerings (Tooth, Feather, Flower, Ash, Mushroom and the Effigy Statue stat items) come from chests. Rest at a fox shrine and use the offering slot in your inventory. The upgrade also costs gold. The achievement unlocks on your first offering. The Effigy Statue offering is a different item from the moneybank Effigies.
Coins to grab in the Overworld now:
- Gold coin: near the Old House, two fox statues stand on spiral staircases. At the foot of the staircase around the headless statue, a cluster of trees hides a set of stairs leading down into an underground changing room. The chest is just past the entrance.
- Gold coin: go down the ladder to the beach south of the Old House. At its base, a secret passage runs behind the waterfall on the right to the next stretch of beach. Pick up pages 32-33 from the ground there first, then continue a short way east to the chest, hidden under the bridge overhead.
▶Mr Mayor
Mr Mayor50G
Secret Treasure #1. This needs a different key from the Old House key that the southern Envoy guards. The key for this house lies on the ground west of the first shrine, near the western windmill. It opens the locked house you reach by going up the stairs after the first bridge, door on the right, on the way toward the East Forest. Pages 10-11 are inside. In the same room, trace the groove in the wall with the Holy Cross: R U L U R D R U L D L U R U L D. A passage opens to the chest. The achievement unlocks when you open it.
▶Sacred Geometry
Secret Treasure #3. The code is drawn by the notches on the sails of the western windmill. Stand in front of the windmill and enter D L L U U R R L D R U D. The achievement unlocks when you open the chest.
Fairies you can free at any time in the Overworld. Enter each code at its clue:
- Fairy (eastern Overworld): on the eastern side of the Overworld, near the entrance to the Fortress of the Eastern Vault. Code: U L D L D L D L U R D R R D R.
- Fairy (south beach island): the small island off the south beach, next to the bridge to the Ruined Atoll. Code: U R D L D L D L D L U.
- Fairy (moss): the stone wall below the West Belltower. The moss and cracks trace the path. Code: U R U L D L U L U R D R D R U L U R D R D.
- Fairy (caustic light): the room under the far eastern bridge, where the pool throws a pattern on the wall. Code: R U L U R D R U R D L D R.
- Fairy (compass): the compass plaque south of the Fortress entrance. Code: L R D U U D R L U R D L U D R L.
- Fairy (patrol): the waterfall cave in the northeast. Go through the secret passage in its top-left corner. A lone enemy walks a pattern; copy it without alerting it. Code: D D R U R D L D R U R D D.
- Fairy (fountain tiles): from the Old House warp pad, head east down the steps to the fountain. Follow the directions of the numbered tile groups 1 to 6 on the grass around it. Code: D L L D U R D.
▶I'm free!
I'm free!20G
Free one fairy. The achievement unlocks with your first freed fairy, so any of the seven above will do it.
▶East Forest
▶Collectibles · 2 2 collectibles
East Forest: Hero's Grave Path — cut the bushes at the top of the stairs before the Hero's Grave and go behind the wall.
East Forest: Lower Forest — the lower of the two chests at the spider platform, via the hidden path behind the trees along the water's edge.
▶A Sword!
A Sword!10G
The sword is at the Hero's Grave on the path through the East Forest. The achievement unlocks when you pick it up. Don't equip the ??? fire card on this save; with it equipped, the sword reportedly does no damage to bells or the Garden Knight.
▶It uses stamina
With the sword equipped, move forward and press roll and sword attack at the same time. The fox rolls and then stabs forward. The achievement unlocks the first time the rolling stab comes out, and it doesn't need an enemy. Do this right after picking up the sword.
▶Ding
Ding10G
Climb the East Belltower and ring the bell. The achievement unlocks when it rings. Pages 12-13 are in the belltower.
Collect while in the East Forest:
- Pages 14-15: at the East Forest teleporter.
- Pages 28-29: the lake island near the East Forest entrance. Cut the small trees with the sword to reach it.
- Effigy (Hero's Grave path): after taking the sword, cut the bushes at the top of the stairs in front of the Hero's Grave and go behind the wall to the chest.
- Gold coin: enter the building just south of the East Forest shrine and take the ladders down to the lower forest. Head west to the spider platform. There are two chests there: the coin is in the lower one, while the other is part of Regal Weasel. Take the hidden path behind the trees on the east side of the platform, south of the stone bridge, along the water's edge.
The Guard Captain here only drops gems. The Old House key is in the Overworld: head down from the central Overworld toward the southern beach and look for the Envoy, a green-cloaked enemy with a spear and shield. The key lies on the ground beside it. You can grab the key and skip the fight, but beating the Envoy is fine too. The western bridge Effigy is just south of it, so if you already took that chest, you've been here.
▶The Old House
The Old House sits under the telescope next to a small waterfall and a warp pad. The shield is inside, behind the bed.
- Pages 16-17: at the Old House warp pad.
- Pages 52-53: the patterned door inside. Code: U R D L D R.
- Fairy (curtains): copy the curtain pattern on the wall. Code: U U R D D R U U R D D D.
▶Power Up
Power Up50G
Secret Treasure #8. The wind chimes outside the Old House play a melody, and page 34 is the decoder. Enter U D R U D L U D L R D L R U at the chimes. The achievement unlocks when you open the chest.
▶Beneath the Well and the West Garden
▶Beneath the Well and the Dark Tomb
▶Collectibles · 6 6 collectibles
Beneath the Well: North Passage — through the hidden passage in the far right of the north wall, behind the rubble.
Beneath the Well: Shrine Ledge — interact with the false wall at the top of the first ladder by the shrine room and follow the passage to the ledge above the shrine.
Beneath the Well: Prayer Path — pray at the pylon in the Lantern room and follow the pink line to the opened wall and ledge.
Shop Coin — sold for 999 in every shop after you finish Beneath the Well; buying it removes it from the others.
Optional
Dark Tomb: Laser Room — in the middle of the south room full of laser statues.
Dark Tomb: Laser Room — destroy the lone turret aiming at a dead end and follow its beam to a secret tunnel.
Beneath the Well is entered from the Overworld. The lantern is at its end, in front of an obelisk, and you need it for the Dark Tomb.
- Pages 18-19: at the entrance.
- Pages 34-35: left of the first shrine room.
- Pages 30-31: at the end, by the shrine.
- Effigy (north passage): from the hallway with the pink energy line, push through the hidden passage in the far right of the north wall. The chest is behind the rubble.
- Gold coin: near the end of the area, next to the fox shrine room, climb the first ladder and interact with the false wall at the top. Pushing or attacking it won't open it. Follow the hidden passage, past a potion piece chest, to a ledge overlooking the shrine. The coin is in the chest there.
- Gold coin: in the Lantern room at the end, pray at the metal pylon (the same one that gives You hear a strange hum). A pink line lights back into the previous room and opens a section of wall. The chest is on the small ledge behind it.
- Shop coin (optional): once you finish Beneath the Well, every shop stocks one gold coin for 999. The first shop is in the windmill west of the Sealed Temple. Buying it removes it from the other shops. You don't need it if you collect all 15 chest coins.
- Effigy (Dark Tomb): in the middle of the south room full of laser statues.
- Gold coin (Dark Tomb): in the same laser room, one turret stands apart and aims at a dead end. Destroy it and walk where its beam pointed, along the north wall toward the upper right, to a secret tunnel with the chest.
The Secret Gathering Place is the room behind the waterfall next to the Overworld entrance to the Dark Tomb. Check your fairy count here.
- Fairy (Secret Gathering Place): read both wall carvings. Code: D R U R U R U L U L U R U R U L D L D L D R D L D R D R U R.
▶West Garden
▶Collectibles · 2 2 collectibles
West Garden: Under the Bridge — under the rope-drop bridge in the southwest, past the planks and short ladder, chest on the right.
West Garden: Switch Wall — interact with the wall left of the stairs to the obelisk platform just south of the southern fox shrine.
The magic dagger (an ice spell) is on a table in a West Garden cave. Pages 26-27 are on a narrow path.
- Effigy (under the bridge): in the southwest of the Garden, under the bridge where you drop the rope, cross the planks to the short ladder and go under the platform. The chest is on the right. Grab it on this first visit, before the Garden Knight.
- Gold coin: just south of the second (southern) fox shrine, stairs lead up to an obelisk platform. At the foot of those stairs, interact with the wall to their left; walking into it does nothing. It opens onto the coin chest.
- Fairy (ground pattern): from the boss area, run south and climb down the wooden ladder, then copy the pattern on the ground. Code: U R U L U R U L U R D R U L D L U R U L U R U L U.
▶Nothing happened...
Equip a gold coin and use it next to a well. Any well works. There is one in the Overworld near the start, by the big staircase across the bridge. There is another in the West Garden, just north of its first fox shrine. The achievement unlocks on your first wish.
▶Well done!
Well done!10G
Make 15 wishes in total. They don't need to go into the same well or in one visit. Throw coins as you find them; each threshold (3, 6, 10 and 15) also opens an extra card slot. The achievement unlocks on the 15th wish. Only 10 chest coins exist before the first Heir encounter, so this finishes in the Spirit World. If you end at 14, the easiest coins to miss are behind the West Garden switch wall and the Cathedral birdcage wall.
▶Dong
Dong10G
Defeat the Garden Knight, then climb the West Belltower and ring the bell. The achievement unlocks when it rings. With both bells rung, the golden doors of the Sealed Temple open.
▶The Three Keys
▶The Sealed Temple and the Magic Wand
- Pages 24-25: on the upper ledge inside the Sealed Temple, which the camera partly hides. Go through the side archway beside the central hexagon mechanism and climb the ladder there.
- Fairy (Sealed Temple): copy the blue pattern on the floor inside the temple. Code: U R U L U R U L U R D R U U L.
- Magic Wand: climb the ladder behind the Sealed Temple and go west to the golden obelisk.
- Pages 48-49: the Golden Obelisk on the same screen as the Magic Wand, in the northwest Overworld. Trace the pattern engraved on it: U L D R D L U R. Page 48 lists every fairy location; page 49 is the grid for the Golden Path later.
The three keys can be done in any order. This route takes the Fortress first because it is closest, then the Atoll and Library, then the Quarry.
▶Fortress of the Eastern Vault
▶Collectibles · 1 1 collectible
Beneath the Eastern Vault: Barrels — smash the barrels in the top corner of the first obelisk room and go through the hole.
Reach the Fortress through the East Forest.
- Pages 6-7: pray at the black obelisk inside.
- Pages 36-37: the upper balcony of the Eastern Vault.
- Gold coin: in Beneath the Eastern Vault, go through the sewers to the big room with the first obelisk and the Custodians. Smash the stack of barrels in the top corner and go through the hole behind them.
- Fairy (candles): count the candle groups around the power block with the custodians. Code: R L D R U L.
▶Deep In The Forest
Defeat the Siege Engine. Use the pink item it drops on the platform to make the red key appear. The achievement unlocks when you take the red key.
Before you leave, lower the bridge and take the ladders up the snowy mountain. Pages 20-21 are on the steps in front of the Mountain Door. The door itself stays shut until you have the Golden Path code, near the end of this guide.
- Fairy (Quarry rocks): the three stacked snowy rocks at the top of the Quarry, through the back passage right of the Mountain Door. Trace around the rocks. Code: U R D L U R U L D L U R R D.
▶Ruined Atoll, Frog's Domain and the Great Library
▶Collectibles · 3 3 collectibles
Ruined Atoll: Southwest Obelisk — on the pink energy path beside the southwest obelisk behind the mountain; pray at the obelisk first.
Return later
Overworld: West Beach Islet — grapple with the Magic Orb across the turret platforms at the far west of the southern beach; the coin is in the westernmost chest.
Return later
Great Library: Behind the Chalkboard — behind the left chalkboard in the top room with the teleporter.
The Magic Orb (a grappling hook) is in Frog's Domain, in the northeast of the Ruined Atoll.
- Effigy (southwest obelisk): once you have the Orb, go to the southwest of the Atoll, behind the mountain. Pray at the obelisk there first. The chest is on the pink energy path beside it.
- Gold coin: back in the Overworld, at the far west of the southern beach, ruined platforms in the water are guarded by turrets. Destroy the turrets and use them as grapple points with the Orb to reach the westernmost platform. Of the two chests there, the coin is in the westernmost one.
Activate the four Atoll obelisks, then raise the central statue to reach the Great Library.
- Pages 38-39, 40-41 and 50-51: in glass cases in the Library. Grapple to them with the Orb and break the glass.
- Effigy (Library chalkboard): in the top room with the teleporter, behind the left chalkboard, to the left of the obelisk.
- Fairy (rug): the big rug at the foot of the stairs in the great hall. Code: U L D L U R U L U R U L D R D L U L D L U R U L U R U R D L D R D L D R.
▶High Above The Clouds
Defeat the Librarian. The green key appears on its body, and the achievement unlocks when you take it.
▶Regal Weasel
Regal Weasel50G
Secret Treasure #6. You now have the Wand, Dagger and Orb, which it needs. From the East Forest teleporter, go south through the trees and down three ladders. A hook sits on the ground with a slime on the ledge above it, guarding a chest. Put the Magic Wand, Magic Dagger and Magic Orb on buttons. Lock on to the slime, then press the Wand and Dagger buttons at the same time to fire a freezing projectile. While the slime is frozen, immediately grapple up to it with the Orb and kill it. The achievement unlocks when you open the chest. If you kill the slime before it's frozen, rest at the nearby shrine to respawn it.
▶Whoops
Whoops10G
Freeze yourself with an ice bomb. Stand right next to a wall and throw it at the wall so you are inside the blast. The wand-and-dagger ice spell does not count. Page 17 has a free ice bomb code: L D R U R D R U R D R U L. It only works once, so use that bomb here. The achievement unlocks when you freeze.
▶Your pocket feels heavier...
Throw 10 bombs of one type (all fire, all ice, or all explosive). The achievement usually unlocks around the tenth throw, when a +1 appears on that bomb in your inventory. The exact moment can vary. If it hasn't unlocked after ten throws of one type, keep throwing that same bomb type until the permanent +1 appears on it in your inventory. If you run out first, rest at a fox shrine to replenish the bonus bomb of that type, then throw it. Buy a stack from a shop and throw them at enemies, or use the free bomb codes from page 17.
- Fairy (Hourglass cave): under the bridge to the Ruined Atoll, copy the wall pattern at the back of the room behind the Hourglass chest to open a passage. Inside is a climbable pillar, and your climbing path is the code: L U R U R D R U R U L L L U R U.
- Fairy (golden cube): two spiral-stair fox statues stand in the Overworld. Bomb the wall by the statue with a head to open a room with a floating golden cube, then copy its moves. Code: R R R R U U U U R R R U U U R R U U R U.
▶Quarry and the Rooted Ziggurat
▶Collectibles · 2 2 collectibles
Quarry: Monastery Ledge — climb the ladder right of the pool shrine in front of the Monastery and follow the ledge north.
Quarry: Scaffolding — behind crates on the scaffolding right of the drop-bridge, before the drop to the train tracks.
The Scavenger's Mask in the Quarry protects your max HP from the pink drain; wear it here. If you are not doing the Bring it to the wrong fight run on this save, the gun is still in the firing-range chest.
- Gold coin: in front of the Monastery entrance, past the fox shrine in the pool, climb the ladder to its right and follow the ledge north to the chest.
- Effigy (scaffolding): in the lower Quarry, on the scaffolding right of the drop-bridge, before the drop to the train tracks. The chest is behind crates.
▶At The Root of The World
Clear the Rooted Ziggurat and defeat the Boss Scavenger. The achievement unlocks when you take the blue key.
▶What now?
What now?10G
Place the three keys in the slots around the floating hexagon in the Sealed Temple. The achievement unlocks when the third key goes in.
▶The First Heir Encounter
Take a warp pad to the teleporter hub and use the central pad. Before you go, check your inventory: you should hold 9 Effigies if you haven't used any. This first fight with the Heir is meant to be lost. If it doesn't end in your defeat, turn No Fail Mode off until it does. You wake on the beach as a spirit, the world shifts to its spirit layout, and it stays night until your body is restored.
▶The Spirit World
▶Old Burying Ground and the Cathedral
▶Collectibles · 7 7 collectibles
Swamp: Inner Gate — just inside the gate on the left, through the gap between the statue and the tree. Spirit form needed for the gate.
Swamp: Cross Tombstone — south of the gate, down the hill beside the cross-topped tombstone, guarded by a giant skeleton. Spirit form needed for the gate.
Swamp: East Hill — up the ramps from the eastern obelisk, then south at the top.
Swamp: Cliff Break — east past the eastern obelisk and south through the gap between cliff and mountain.
Swamp Shop Coin — sold for 999 by the Swamp's spectral shop, a crypt that opens only while you are a spirit.
Optional
Cathedral: Library — behind the marked wall behind the bone ladder in the left library room.
Cathedral: Birdcage Room — interact with the wall in the back right corner, right of the window, separate from the potion piece chest.
From the start, go up the stairs and right at the end of the bridge to an obelisk, then down the ladder into the Swamp (the Old Burying Ground). It has a fox shrine, a gate, and invisible enemies. Activate the next obelisk to open the Cathedral.
- Effigy (inner gate): just inside the gate, bear left to the stone wall and slip through the gap between the statue and the tree to reach the chest behind the wall. On a normal route this is your tenth Effigy, so Too Cute To Smash unlocks here.
- Gold coin: from the fox shrine, go through the gate and head straight south. Climb the ladder and go down the hill to a chest guarded by a giant skeleton that rises from the ground, beside the large tombstone topped with a cross.
- Gold coin: on the east side, from the eastern obelisk take the ramps up the hill. At the top, head south; the chest is in front of you, on the path leading away from the Cathedral.
- Gold coin: from the eastern obelisk, don't climb the ramps. Continue east and follow the wall south to a break between the cliff and the mountain. A small hidden passage leads to the back-corner chest.
- Shop coin (optional): the Swamp's spectral shop is a large crypt near the gate, northeast of the fox shrine. It only opens while you are a spirit. It sells a second gold coin for 999. If you want it, buy it before Your body is restored.
- Effigy (Cathedral library): in the library room on the left (the one with the bone ladder), push the marked wall behind the ladder. The first chest in the secret room holds the Effigy.
- Gold coin: upstairs, the birdcage room has a visible potion piece chest among the cages. The coin is separate: interact with the wall in the back right corner, right of the window, to open it.
▶You feel a tingling...
Go down to the arena under the Cathedral and clear all its altar fights. The prize is the Hero's Laurels, which turns your roll into a dash that can cross gaps. The achievement unlocks when you take it.
▶Dash Cleanup
▶Collectibles · 2 2 collectibles
Swamp: Pillar Dash — dash across the stone pillars behind the Swamp fox shrine to a grassy cliff ledge. Needs the Hero's Laurels.
Return later
West Garden: Garden Knight Statue Island — dash to the island west of the northern fox shrine; chest behind the stone statue. Needs the Hero's Laurels.
Return later
Everything here needs the dash. Do it on the way to the Hero's Graves.
- Gold coin (Swamp): dash across the chain of pillars from the fox shrine to a cliff chest.
- Pages 4-5: the floating rubble near the Dark Tomb bridge.
- Pages 8-9: the pillar by the southeast Swamp bridge.
- Pages 22-23: north of the East Forest entrance, dash into the mouth of the giant stone skull. The shopkeeper inside has the pages at no cost.
- Pages 42-43: the pillar in the Overworld fountain.
- Pages 44-45: the patterned door next to the fountain. Code: D R U L U R (its mirror, D L U R U L, also works on these doors).
- Pages 46-47: the West Garden island, reached by teleporter.
- Effigy (Garden Knight statue island): in the northwest of the West Garden, directly west of the northern fox shrine, dash to the island with a stone Garden Knight statue. The chest is behind the statue, to its right. This is your twelfth Effigy and a spare.
- Fairy (West Garden island): the island with a tree in the far southwest of the West Garden. Code: L D R L U D.
- Fairy (invisible maze): the hidden doorway under the bridge to the eastern Swamp. Dash over the rubble, then walk the invisible maze. Code: U L D L U R D R U R D L U L U.
- Fairy (golden obelisk pieces): the broken Golden Obelisk in the lower East Forest, past Guard House 2. Code: D R D L U L D L U R U L U R U R U L U R D R D R D L D R D L U.
You now have 19 fairies, well past the 10 needed. Return to the Secret Gathering Place and take pages 54 and the back cover from the fountain.
▶Phonomath
Phonomath50G
Secret Treasure #10. The Ruined Atoll map has an arrow pointing off its edge. Dash across the gap there to a small island with a buried statue. The achievement unlocks when you open the chest in front of it.
▶Dusty
Dusty50G
Secret Treasure #11. In the Eastern Vault, dash left across the rubble below the Hero's Grave steps into a cave with a broom. Destroy all four leaf piles. The fourth is hidden, so turn the camera. The chest appears in the middle, and the achievement unlocks when you open it.
▶The Hero's Graves
▶Your body is restored.
Pray at all six Hero's Graves. Each one sends you over a dash gap to a stat item. The graves are in:
- the Old Burying Ground
- the East Forest
- the Eastern Vault
- the West Garden
- the Great Library (two Stone Golems guard it)
- the Quarry Monastery
The achievement unlocks at the sixth grave. From then on, interacting with the bed in the Old House swaps between day and night.
▶Forever Friend
Secret Treasure #12. It needs the dash and your restored body. In the teleporter hub, take the side of the southern pad and dash west along the hidden path. The achievement unlocks when you open the chest.
▶Day and Night
▶A Secret Legend
Secret Treasure #2. Sleep in the Old House bed until it is night.
- Enter the Cathedral and take the library room on the left, with the bone ladder. Push the wall behind the ladder to open a hallway and a chest. This is the same wall as the Cathedral library Effigy.
- Push the wall behind that chest to open another passage, then cross the spirit bridge.
- Trace the code drawn on the wall. The code is 22 inputs: L U L U R U L U R D R R U R D L D R D L D L. If it doesn't take, trace the drawing on the wall itself, which is the authoritative version.
- A balcony path opens, but the night bridge of light blocks the chest. Go back to the Old House and sleep until it is day.
- Climb the hidden ladder to the right of the Cathedral entrance to reach the chest.
The achievement unlocks when you open the chest.
▶Just Some Pals
Secret Treasure #5, in the southern Swamp. Do it by day. Get past the gate (dash over the pillars or take the wooden ladder past the eastern gate). Push the four golden skulls into the small pool in front of the grave with a skull on top. The achievement unlocks when you open the chest that appears.
- Fairy (spirit fox): this needs the Hero's Laurels and night. Fast travel to the East Forest and dash up the pillars to the upper area, where a fox spirit patrols. Copy its walk. Code: U D U D L R L R D L U R.
That makes all 20 fairies. If the count at the Secret Gathering Place is short, use the fairy-finder code (U L U R D R) in each area until the guiding lights point to the one you missed.
▶Spring Falls
Spring Falls50G
Secret Treasure #7. With all 20 fairies freed, re-enter the Secret Gathering Place. The chest appears, and the achievement unlocks when you open it.
▶Pre-Heir Check
Before the final fight, confirm:
- Every manual spread except the front cover and page 1 is collected. Open the manual, compare any blank spreads with their numbered entries in this route, and pay particular attention to pages 32-33 on the beach.
- You hold at least 10 Effigies and Too Cute To Smash has unlocked.
- All 15 wishes are made. Check this at any well with no coin equipped. Your wishes plus unspent coins should equal the coin chests you've opened plus any coins you've bought. If you are short, recheck the West Garden switch wall and the Cathedral birdcage wall, then the shop coin.
▶The Heir and the Final Cleanup
▶The Final Heir Fight
▶Game Over
Game Over50G
Return to the teleporter hub, take the central pad, and fight the Heir. She has two phases, and the second one drains you. Wear the Scavenger's Mask and turn on No Fail Mode if you need it. The achievement unlocks when she is defeated and the ending plays.
After the credits, choose Retry. This puts you back just before the fight with all your progress. Do not pick New Game+ here.
Safety net: if you ever reach the Heir with a full manual, you can attack her instead of presenting the manual, and this is reported to still award Game Over. Doing the fight with page 1 missing avoids relying on that.
▶The Mountain Door
▶Thank you for playing!
Go to the Mountain Door at the top of the snowy mountain and enter the Golden Path. It is 100 inputs, written here in groups of four (U = up, D = down, L = left, R = right):
ULDL ULDL URUR ULUR DRUL ULUR ULDL URUU LURD RDRU RDLD RURR DRUR DRUR RDLD LDRD RDLL DRDL DRUR DRUR RDDL URUL DLUL ULUR RULU
Beams of light fill the door's grooves and it breaks open. Behind it are the front cover and page 1. The achievement unlocks when your manual is complete.
▶Vintage
Vintage50G
Secret Treasure #4. Page 1, which you now have, holds the clue and shows the exact spot. Go to the tiny island off the southwest beach by the Ruined Atoll bridge and stand in the puddle where the sand meets the grass. Set Master Volume to 0% in Options > Audio and wait 60 seconds. Then enter D, R eleven times, and L twelve times. The achievement unlocks when you open the chest. Turn the volume back up afterwards.
▶The True Ending (Optional)
With the full manual, you can present it to the Heir for the true ending. No achievement is tied to it. It creates a separate New Game+ save and leaves your old save loadable.
▶Collectibles

▶Gold Coins
17 in the game
Gold coins feed Nothing happened... (one wish) and Well done! (15 wishes). Any well works and every well shares one wish count. Fifteen coins come from chests and two are sold in shops. The 15 chest coins alone are enough, so both shop coins are optional. There is no collected-coin counter; use a well with no coin equipped to read your wish count.

▶Effigies
12 in the game
Effigies (the moneybanks) feed Too Cute To Smash, which needs 10 in your inventory at once. All 12 are in chests and none can be bought. Never use one: using it smashes it for money and lowers your stack. The Effigy Statue offering is a different item. Break three or more and the achievement can only be recovered in New Game+.

Dark Tomb: Laser Room — in the middle of the south room full of laser statues.
West Garden: Under the Bridge — under the rope-drop bridge in the southwest, past the planks and short ladder, chest on the right.
Quarry: Scaffolding — behind crates on the scaffolding right of the drop-bridge, before the drop to the train tracks.
Ruined Atoll: Southwest Obelisk — on the pink energy path beside the southwest obelisk behind the mountain; pray at the obelisk first.
