Before You Start

Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise has 50 achievements worth 1,000 Gamerscore. There is no DLC achievement pack and no title-update list. This guide covers the Xbox 360 game only, whether you play it on an Xbox 360 or through backward compatibility on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. Rare Replay includes this same Xbox 360 version through backward compatibility, with the same achievement list. The original Viva Piñata has a completely different list.

Hardware and Platform Warnings

  • Card Sharp and Master Card Sharp need a physical Xbox 360 and an Xbox Live Vision camera to scan Piñata Vision cards. Kinect does not work for this, and the Vision camera is not supported on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. As of October 2026, those two achievements (30 Gamerscore) are CURRENTLY CONFIRMED UNOBTAINABLE when playing through backward compatibility.
  • If you only own an Xbox One or Series console, the rest of the list is still obtainable, so the best you can reach is 970 Gamerscore unless you borrow a 360 and a Vision camera for the card scans.
  • The official card downloads are CURRENTLY CONFIRMED DISCONTINUED. Rare's site stopped hosting them years ago. The game box shipped with one card, and community-shared images of the original cards are still circulating. Scanning a card image from a bright phone or laptop screen works, as does a colour print.
  • The Xbox 360 Store closed in July 2024, so the game can no longer be bought digitally on the 360 itself. As of October 2026 it is still sold on the modern Xbox store for Xbox One and Series X|S, both on its own and as part of Rare Replay, and it is cloud-playable with Game Pass Premium and Ultimate. Disc copies also still work.

Online and Co-op Requirements

  • Full House needs four players in the same online Xbox Live co-op session for a cumulative hour. As of October 2026, players are still organising sessions for this, so online play for this game currently works.
  • Famous Piñata can no longer be earned the official way. Rare's website piñatas and prize piñatas are CURRENTLY CONFIRMED DISCONTINUED. The confirmed route is to be present in an online session while another player who owns a famous piñata unpacks it, either in their garden or yours.
  • Couch Socialite and Master Couch Socialite only need a second controller joined in your own garden. A second person is not required.

Modes, Gardens and Missables

  • Play in normal garden mode (Play a Garden). Just for Fun mode does not award any achievements.
  • Nothing in this game is truly missable. Your coins, gardener level, awards, Tower of Sour progress and achievement progress are shared across every normal garden on your profile, and you can start new gardens whenever you want. Gretchen can fetch any species you have ever had resident (except coloured Flutterscotches; she only brings white ones).
  • Dinokeeper and Expert Records Keeper are CURRENTLY COMMUNITY-FLAGGED / BUGGY (October 2026). Follow the routes in this guide, verify every requirement before assuming the achievement is bugged, and give a delayed unlock a few minutes. No universal fix is confirmed.
  • The one resource to protect is the Amber Gem from the Wishing Well. You only get one per profile, and you need it for the Choclodocus.
  • In the credits area, smash every tree and piece of debris before the last credits piñata. Those accessories include one you need for a Langston challenge.
  • Langston's challenges only count if you select the challenge in the village before you send the piñata off. A piñata sent with no challenge selected only restores a computer record.
  • Piñatas sent to a party come back after a few real minutes. A HISTORICALLY REPORTED BUG can make a returning piñata invisible. As a precaution, keep a free slot or two in the garden before sending piñatas off. If it happens, pack the piñata into a Post Office crate and unpack it again.

Route Overview

  1. Start a new garden, finish Langston's three tutorial lessons, and get a second controller joined straight away so the co-op timers run in the background.
  2. Build an early money engine by romancing cheap species to seven residents, which also drives the twin and wildcard achievements.
  3. Pick up the cheap one-off achievements (photos, putting, races, shows, tricks, evolutions, surfaces, train, costume) as their tools unlock, and make your first Desert and Piñarctic residents.
  4. Unlock the credits early with the Piñata People garden name to collect the credits accessories and the Wishing Well.
  5. Work through Langston's 110 challenge orders as he offers them. Most of the Gamerscore is here, and the realistic finish is around gardener level 43, because several orders need high-level accessories and tamed sours.
  6. Fill out the Desert and the Piñarctic, build the Choclodocus, earn the gold combat medal, then finish the last regions and the non-challenge records.
  7. Finish the online and hardware achievements whenever you have partners or a 360 and camera available.

All gardener levels in this guide are approximate, so check Costolot's, Paper Pets and Willy Builder after each level up.

Getting Started

New Garden and Langston's Tutorial

Start a new normal garden. Langston's tutorial has three lessons that come before any destination challenge: make a Bispotti resident and send it to a party (naming a piñata fills its candiosity), trap a Sweetle in the Desert, and romance a pair of Bispottis and send the baby to a party. Finish all three lessons. Willy Builder does not return until they are done or skipped, and Costolot's store opens around the end of the tutorial.

Couch Socialite

Connect a second controller and press Start on it in the garden so a second cursor appears. You don't need to play with it, but the game is reported to drop an idle second player, so nudge its stick every few minutes and check that its cursor is still on screen. Keep playing normally with your main controller. The achievement goes to the main profile once an hour of One Box co-op time has built up.

Progress is reported to carry over between sessions, but that is not firmly confirmed, so the safest approach is to keep the second controller active through longer sittings. If it hasn't unlocked after an hour in one sitting, keep going. Rejoin the second controller every time you load the game. If it times out or turns off, the clock stops.

Master Couch Socialite

This is the same timer, running to 3 hours in total. Keep the second controller joined during your normal play and it will unlock early in the route with no extra effort.

Card Sharp

Only possible on a real Xbox 360 with an Xbox Live Vision camera.

Once the tutorial is finished, leave your cursor idle in the garden so the camera light turns green, then hold a Piñata Vision card (printed, or shown on a bright screen) in front of the camera. Hold it in landscape, about 15 to 25 cm from the lens, with all four corners visible and the room lights on. If the edges are detected but it won't read, turn the camera's focus ring fully anticlockwise and ease it back a little. Once the card is accepted, use what it gives you; for an item card, place the item in your garden. It is not confirmed whether the achievement fires on the scan itself or on using the result, so do both.

Master Card Sharp

Scan and use 10 different cards. Each card has its own cooldown, so a card that won't work straight after use isn't broken. Simple item cards such as gems, gold, mushrooms, and the dinosaur bone cards are reported to scan most reliably.

If you plan to play the rest of the game on an Xbox One or Series console, do the scanning in a throwaway garden on the 360. The cards themselves only matter for these two achievements.

First Garden Setup

Your early levels go quickly. Plant what Seedos and Costolot give you, let visitors become residents, and dig the garden over as needed. While you are setting up, pick up these one-off achievements, which only need the starting tools.

Candied Camera

Open the camera from the menu and take 10 ordinary photographs. Any subject counts.

Master Candied Camera

A special photograph is one of the game's concept-art unlocks. You earn one by photographing the same subject repeatedly. Pick one resident piñata species and keep taking photos of it. Special photos come by chance, so it can take dozens of shots; switching to another species or character now and then is fine.

Gone Clubbing

Dig a seed hole with the shovel, drop a sweet from the store next to it, then hover the shovel over the sweet and use the putt action (X) to knock it like a golf ball. Get 5 sweets into seed holes. Cheap Romance Sweets work fine, and a hole dug next to the sweet makes it easy.

Long Shot

Knock a sweet into a seed hole from a long way off. Switching on the advanced camera in the options and zooming fully out is recommended so you can see the whole line. Dig a single hole, place the sweet roughly three-quarters of the garden's length away across open ground, and keep retrying until one drops in. Clear the line of plants and piñatas first so nothing blocks the roll.

SpeedFreak

Races are started from a piñata's Games option. Select a resident, open its menu, and choose Games. A Whirlm in the top lane is the community-recommended racer. Win one race.

Exhibitor

Piñata shows are also started from the Games option. Pick the judge whose preferences best suit your piñata. A piñata at full candiosity that wears accessories and knows tricks does better. A second controller can help you pick a better judge. Win one show.

First Romance Engine

Pick an early, cheap species you already have living in the garden, such as the Whirlm, and romance it until you have seven residents of that species. Seven gives you that species' Master Romancer award and is the safe target, although the bonuses are reported to become available from about six. With that many of the species in the garden, every further romance of that species can give you twins or a wildcard, depending on how you play the romance maze.

The maze bonuses:

  • Collect every heart in the maze for the wildcard bonus.
  • Reach the end with a good margin of the time limit left for the twin bonus.
  • Do both at once to get twin wildcards.

Wildcards sell for many times a normal piñata's value, so this is also your best way to fund the expensive purchases later. Feed them Joy Sweets before selling to get the full price. Romance Sweets get a pair ready again straight away.

Twin Birth

With seven of the species in the garden, finish the romance maze with plenty of time left. Twin eggs count as one set.

Wildcard Variant

With seven of the species in the garden, collect every heart in the romance maze. The egg hatches into a wildcard.

Twin Birth Master

Make twins in 10 different species. Repeats of one species are reported not to count, so build several cheap species up to seven residents in turn and get one set of twins from each. Sell or ship off the babies as you go so you never hit the garden's piñata limit.

Wildcard Variant Master

Make wildcards in 10 different species. Repeats of one species are reported not to count. Aim for the hearts and the time margin on every romance so that each species you build up covers both a twin set and a wildcard.

Wait for the variant or wildcard award message before romancing that piñata again. Starting a new romance too soon after it changes colour is reported to stop the award from registering.

First Wild Garden Trips

The Desert and the Piñarctic are wild gardens next to yours. Traps and bait are sold at Langston's TrapEase, which you can only open while you are inside one of the wild gardens. Bring your own oranges, holly berries and chillies from your main garden in case TrapEase doesn't stock them.

  • Bait must match the species. Wrong or missing bait scares the piñata away and fires the trap empty.
  • Traps come in three tiers: Home (50 coins, free in the tutorial), Business (200) and Ultimate (800). Tier doesn't decide which species you can catch, but cheaper traps can break and lose the piñata, and only the Ultimate never breaks. Use the best tier you have for big piñatas.
  • At first you can only set one trap at a time; the limit rises to five per wild garden as you level up.
  • When a trap closes on a piñata, send it to the Post Office straight away. It arrives as a Captured crate at Fannie Franker's. Place the crate in your main garden and unpack it.
  • Residency is always measured in your main garden. The sand and snow percentages below mean sand or snow surface in your own garden.

Unpacking a trapped piñata from each wild garden in your main garden unlocks the Sand and Snow surface packets, which you need for Packet Bulger and for every Desert and Piñarctic resident. Trapping alone isn't enough, so collect the crate from the Post Office and unpack it. Do one trip to each wild garden early.

Desert Collector

Make any three Desert species resident in your main garden. Use species that don't involve evolution:

  • Sweetle: bait with a yam (Home trap). Resident: 1% sand.
  • Geckie: bait with a snowdrop flower (grow snowdrops in your garden; seeds from about level 5; Home trap). Resident: 2% sand, and it must eat a Flutterscotch.
  • Sour S'morepion (appears from about level 12): any bait works (Home trap). Tame it by meeting its sour resident requirements: 5% sand and eating 2 Buzzlegums. Make sure the S'morepion block on your Tower of Sour is switched off while you tame it.

Make sure each one is resident, not just visiting. Camello, Vulchurro and the evolved Desert species are all much later.

Arctic Collector

Make any three Piñarctic species resident in your main garden:

  • Robean: bait with a holly berry (Home trap). Resident: 1% snow.
  • Pengum (appears from about level 2): bait with a chilli, ideally in a Business trap. Resident: 5 square pinometers of snow and 5 of water, and it must eat a Newtgat (Newtgats appear once you have a small pond of water).
  • Flapyak (appears from about level 15) or the Sour Lemmoning (see Filling the Wild Gardens) for the third.

To tame a sour, switch off its Tower of Sour block, let the sour into your garden, let it cause its trouble, then meet the sour resident requirements shown in its encyclopedia entry.

Building Up the Garden

Most of the remaining one-off achievements unlock between roughly levels 9 and 20. Level gates in this game aren't consistently documented, so treat the levels below as approximate and check Costolot's and Paper Pets' stock after each level up.

Tricks

The Trick Stick arrives at around level 9. Each species has two tricks with their own requirements, shown in the encyclopedia. Feed the trick item, then poke the piñata with the Trick Stick when prompted.

Instructor

Teach one piñata both of its tricks with the Trick Stick. The achievement unlocks when the second trick is learned.

Master Instructor

Teach 10 different piñatas both of their tricks. Only three of Langston's orders need both tricks (the India Orange Flutterscotch, the Kenya Green Chippopotamus and the South Pole Purple Walrusk), so you need at least seven more piñatas trained separately. Don't use the piñatas you're preparing for "knowing one trick" orders for this; give those exactly one trick.

Surfaces and the Train

Packet Bulger

Buy the Long Grass packet from Costolot's for 1,125 coins, stocked at about level 9 to 13. Once you have unpacked one trapped Desert piñata (Sand) and one trapped Piñarctic piñata (Snow) in your main garden, your surface packet holds short grass, long grass, sand and snow, which are the only four surface types. The achievement unlocks as soon as the packet contains all four.

Choo-Choo

Buy the Woo Woo Train from Costolot's for 275 coins, available from about level 11, and place it in the garden.

Evolutions

Each evolution is triggered by feeding. Have a resident of the starting species eat the listed item. Do each one as soon as you have both pieces, because the evolved piñatas also count toward the wild garden collections and several challenge orders. Evolving one of these species is also what makes wild ones start appearing in the Desert or Piñarctic. Evolving removes any accessories the piñata was wearing, so evolve first and dress afterwards. Item levels below are approximate.

Moojoo Evolution

Feed a Doenut a fir tree seed (Costolot's, about level 16). The Moojoo also counts toward Master Arctic Collector.

Pieena Evolution

Feed a Pretztail a bone, sold at Costolot's from about level 13 for 500 coins.

Hoghurt Evolution

Feed a Rashberry a cheesecake. Making one takes two trips to Bart's Exchange (open from about level 7 to 9): tinker a bottle of milk (Costolot's, about level 11) into cheese, then tinker the cheese into cheesecake. Use gold tickets so each tinker is guaranteed.

Accessories

Miss Petula's Paper Pets opens at about level 12 and sells accessories, with new stock arriving as you level up. A costume is a set of exactly three matching accessories worn together, with nothing else on.

Fancy Dress

Dress any piñata in a full costume. The cheapest, earliest set is Conga's Top Hat, Toff Monocle and Secret Agent Bowtie, which is affordable from around level 12, and it is also part of the Pengum's romance requirements. Other valid sets are Conkerific Helmet, Gas Mask and Combat Boots; Yee-haw Hat, Yee-haw Boots and Sheriff's Badge; and Tussle Tricorn, Blackeye Patch and Bling Earrings. The achievement unlocks the moment the third piece goes on.

Credits and the Wishing Well

Do this early; it needs no gardener level. The credits area holds accessories you need later, including the Yee-Haw Spurs for the USA order, and the Wishing Well it unlocks is needed for the Choclodocus.

  1. From the main menu, create a new normal garden named exactly Piñata People, with the ñ and a capital P on each word. A wrong spelling just makes an ordinary garden.
  2. Return to the main menu. A Credits sign appears at the far left. Keep the Piñata People garden until you've finished the credits and checked the accessories.
  3. In the credits, smash every tree and piece of debris first (plants don't matter). Each one unlocks an accessory at Paper Pets: Ponocky Club Hat, Baby's Bib, Ga-Ga Necklace, Eighties Watch, Prisoner Bracelet, Traditional Watch, Pegasus Wings and Yee-Haw Spurs.
  4. Break the credits piñatas last. When they're all gone, Leafos tells you the Wishing Well is available at Costolot's.
  5. Check that all eight accessories now appear at Paper Pets. If any are missing, replaying the credits from the Credits sign and breaking everything again is reported to work.

Buy and place the Well whenever convenient; its price isn't reliably documented. Don't throw coins in until you have 9,999 spare. Throwing exactly 9,999 coins in a single throw gives your one Amber Gem, and a second 9,999 throw in another garden gives nothing. After that, throwing 1,000 coins at a time usually returns more than you put in, especially with a Lantern o' Loot nearby (Costolot's, about level 33).

Langston's Destination Challenges Begin

After the tutorial, Langston offers challenge orders for 22 countries in 7 regions, five orders per country, 110 orders in total. He shows three offers at a time and you accept one at a time. There is no time limit, and you can cancel at no cost. When you finish every order for a country, another country opens. The next country is not chosen in region order, and players report jumping between regions, so take whichever offer you can complete now and cancel the rest. Each region's full order list, with how to fulfil every order, is under that region's achievement heading later in this guide.

For every order:

  1. Get the species (evolve it first if needed).
  2. Apply the colour food if the order names a colour. Colour changes keep accessories; evolving strips them.
  3. Put on exactly the accessories listed and nothing else.
  4. Teach the tricks. For a "knowing one trick" order, teach exactly one trick (Trick 1) and stop; it isn't confirmed whether a piñata knowing both is accepted. Teach both only where the order says both.
  5. Fill its candiosity with a Joy Sweet (about level 12) or by renaming it.
  6. Select the order at Langston's village screen, then pack the piñata into the party crate outside your garden.

Never send a wildcard or a colour variant when the order asks for a plain piñata, and never send a Desert or Piñarctic version of a main-garden species (for example, a Syrupent trapped in the Desert). Rejected sends simply come back; send a correct piñata instead. Gretchen can fetch any species you've had resident, which saves a lot of rebuilding.

Completing a country unlocks a reward accessory at Paper Pets. Three of India's orders need the rewards from Turkey (Turkish Slippers), Hawaii (Hula Necklace) and Egypt (King Tut's Hat), and the USA order needs the Yee-Haw Spurs from the credits.

The realistic order for countries, by the gardener level they need:

  • Around levels 12 to 20: France, Netherlands, Transylvania, Germany, China, UK and Canada.
  • Around levels 20 to 30: Spain, Japan, Hawaii, Italy and most of Egypt.
  • Around levels 30 to 38: Turkey, Russia, Peru, Congo, Korea, India and the Camello for Egypt.
  • Around levels 38 to 43: Kenya, Australia, USA and South Pole.

Every challenge piñata you send also restores its computer record, so the Records Keeper achievements progress alongside the regions.

Records Keeper

Restore 10 of Piñata Central's computer records. This happens naturally within your first couple of countries.

Mid Game

From around level 20 Pester starts showing up to break your most valuable piñata, and Ruffians also start causing trouble as you level up. A decoy (Costolot's, about level 25, 825 coins), a quick 500-coin bribe the moment Pester arrives, and later a tamed Limeoceros or a Choclodocus all protect your garden from Pester. A fenced pocket at the garden entrance also works. The Captain's Cutlass decoration (about level 35) keeps Ruffians out but does not stop Pester.

Taming the Sours

Many challenge orders need a species that only appears after you've tamed its sour version. Tame each sour as soon as it starts visiting: switch off its Tower of Sour block, let it into your garden, let it cause its trouble, then meet the sour resident requirements shown in its encyclopedia entry. Each tamed sour also adds a block to your Tower of Sour, and the Australia order needs all 12.

Approximate levels at which each sour starts appearing in this game: Shellybean 2, Lemmoning 6 (Piñarctic), Sherbat 9, S'morepion 12 (Desert), Profitamole 14, Crowla 17, Smelba 21, Macaraccoon 26, Cocoadile 27, Mallowolf 30, Bonboon 34 to 35, Limeoceros 36.

The ones that gate orders:

  • Profitamole: for Canada and for the Italy Pudgeon (which needs five Profitamoles to unblock it).
  • Crowla: the first normal Crowla only appears once one is resident. The sour Crowla needs a tombstone (Costolot's, about level 20) and a bottle of medicine (tinkered honey). Needed for the Netherlands, Russia and the Vulchurro.
  • Smelba: for the USA order.
  • Macaraccoon: for Japan. The sour eats Syrupents.
  • Cocoadile: for Hawaii and Australia. The sour needs 16% water and must eat a Pengum and a Cherrapin.
  • Mallowolf: for Turkey, Russia, and the Parrybo in Peru and Congo (the Parrybo is unblocked by two Mallowolves). The sour must eat Hoghurts.
  • Bonboon: for Korea and the Congo Sarsgorilla. The sour is tamed by losing a fight to a Syrupent, Twingersnap or Fourheads.
  • Limeoceros: for Kenya. The sour must eat Parmadillos.

Filling the Wild Gardens

As your level rises, more species appear in the Desert and the Piñarctic and better traps unlock. Large piñatas (Flapyak, Camello, Jeli) sometimes eat the bait and run before the trap fires. Put a couple of extra pieces of bait beside the trap, set only one trap at a time for them, use an Ultimate trap once it's stocked, and leave the wild garden as soon as the alert appears over the piñata.

The Sour Lemmoning appears from about level 6, but you can't tame it until Bart's Exchange is open and you can grow radishes, which only grow in snow. Its sour resident requirements are 3% snow plus a bowl of stew (tinker a turnip) and a horseradish (tinker a radish). Have all of that ready before you bring it home, because it's easily angered and can explode and vanish.

Yakity Yak

The Flapyak starts appearing in the Piñarctic from about level 15 and takes an orange as bait (orange trees are stocked at Costolot's from about level 21; Seedos may give a seed earlier). To make it resident it needs snow in your garden (at least 10 square pinometers; meet whatever its encyclopedia entry shows), 4 fir cones and a figgy pudding (have Bart tinker a holly berry).

Willy Builder only sells the Milking Shed (616 coins) once a Moozipan lives in your garden, and the Moozipan appears after you place a Milk Churn (Costolot's, about level 24). Once the shed is built, feed the Flapyak a Joy Sweet so its candiosity is full, then direct it into the shed to collect its milk.

Desert Green Fingers

Grow each Desert plant to maturity in your main garden: yam (seeds from about level 3), orange tree (about level 21), prickly pear (about level 25) and cactus (about level 31). Seedos may hand out seeds earlier. Use orange fertiliser on the yam and orange tree and green fertiliser on the cactus. The prickly pear is a weed and takes no fertiliser. Check Journal, Player Awards for each plant's award, and don't wait around afterwards: a mature cactus wilts and dies about six days after maturing.

Arctic Green Fingers

Grow each Arctic plant to maturity in your main garden: holly bush (seeds from about level 4), radish and snowdrop (about level 5), and fireweed (about level 13, or from the seeds sours drop). Radish only grows in snow. Use red fertiliser on the holly and radish and blue fertiliser on the snowdrop. Fireweed is a weed, takes no fertiliser, and shoots fireballs that can make nearby piñatas ill, so keep it away from valuable residents. Check Journal, Player Awards for each plant.

Early Langston Regions

Keep taking Langston's offers. These two regions finish around levels 24 and 34. Look up any offered country's orders here or under the later region headings.

Region 1 Challenger

Region 1 covers four countries. The achievement unlocks after the last of their 20 orders is delivered, which realistically lands around level 24 because of the Spain Moozipan.

France:

  • Sparrowmint, Pretztail, Lickatoad, Shellybean and Cluckles, all plain. These are early species you'll already have.

Netherlands:

  • Blue Bispotti: feed a bluebell seed.
  • Robean: trap one in the Piñarctic (holly berry bait) and make it resident in your main garden.
  • Newtgat: plain; appears once you have a small pond.
  • Lackatoad: feed a Lickatoad a nightshade berry, then tap it with the shovel before it gets ill.
  • Crowla: plain. Tame the sour Crowla first (see Taming the Sours).

United Kingdom:

  • Orange Bunnycomb: feed it a grown pumpkin.
  • Squazzil wearing a Red Nose.
  • Blue Fudgehog: feed a bluebell seed.
  • Badgesicle: it visits once you have three Geckies, and becomes resident after eating a Geckie and 2 blackberries.
  • Green Barkbark: feed a poison ivy flower head. The Barkbark appears once a Kittyfloss is resident (Kittyfloss come at night when two Mousemallows live in the garden), is unblocked by 5 Buzzlegums, and becomes resident after eating jelly and 2 bones.

Spain:

  • Blue Candary: evolve a Sparrowmint by feeding it a dandelion flower, then feed the Candary a bluebell flower.
  • Green Flutterscotch: feed a White Flutterscotch watercress.
  • Buzzenge wearing Flamenco Shoes. The Buzzenge appears once a Candary lives in the garden and becomes resident after eating 2 Candaries and a Sparrowmint.
  • Ponocky wearing a Bonnet (about level 13).
  • Yellow Moozipan: feed a banana tree seed. The Moozipan needs a Milk Churn (about level 24) and becomes resident after eating 5 buttercups and 2 gooseberry fools.

Master Records Keeper

Restore 30 computer records. This unlocks partway through your second or third region if you keep delivering orders.

Region 2 Challenger

Region 2 has five countries and realistically finishes around level 34, gated by Russia's accessories.

Transylvania:

  • Mousemallow: appears with a turnip in the garden.
  • Syrupent: a plain, uncoloured main-garden Syrupent. A Syrupent trapped in the Desert is rejected.
  • Mothdrop: comes at night to a light.
  • Sherbat: plain.
  • Arocknid: pay Willy Builder 1,000 coins to knock down the wall blocking it; resident after eating 2 Raisants or Tafflies.

Germany:

  • Tartridge, plain.
  • Buzzlegum: appears with a sunflower.
  • Blue Raisant: feed a blackberry.
  • Badgesicle (as in the United Kingdom).
  • Rashberry: appears with a gooseberry bush and a growing chilli.

Italy (around level 27):

  • Red Lickatoad wearing a Harlequin Mask: feed an apple.
  • White Ponocky: feed a piece of bread.
  • Green Pudgeon: feed a gooseberry seed. The Pudgeon is unblocked by 5 Profitamoles.
  • Pink Swanana: feed a bottle of medicine (tinkered honey). The Swanana appears from about level 27; pay a Weedling to clear the poison plants blocking it. It visits once you have a swan fountain and a garden worth 20,000, and becomes resident with 25% water after eating 2 sandwiches.
  • Red Horstachio: feed a chilli seed.

Turkey (around level 32):

  • Purple Flutterscotch: feed a White Flutterscotch a thistle.
  • Purple Custacean: feed blackberry jam (tinkered blackberry).
  • S'morepion wearing a Howdy Pardner Hat (about level 22). Use your tamed S'morepion.
  • Blue Reddhott: set a Taffly alight (a firebrand, or next to fireweed), douse it with the watering can to make a Reddhott, then feed a bluebell seed.
  • Mallowolf: plain, after taming the sour Mallowolf.

Russia (around level 34):

  • Green Lemmoning wearing a Weather-Girl Wig and Bling Teeth (about level 32), knowing one trick: feed a pea pod; Trick 1 is a thistle seed.
  • Blue Crowla: feed a bluebell seed.
  • Yellow Moojoo wearing a Squazzil Hat: feed a buttercup after evolving it.
  • Pink Mallowolf wearing a Pendant Necklace (about level 34): feed a water lily seed.
  • Orange Fizzlybear wearing a Conkerific Helmet and Combat Boots (both about level 29): feed a carrot. The Fizzlybear appears once you have a honey hive, a Buzzlegum house and 3 Buzzlegums, is unblocked by 5 Sweetooths gnawing through a fallen tree, visits with 4 prickly pears and 3 jars of honey in the garden, and becomes resident after eating 2 Raisants, 2 honey and 2 prickly pears.

Games Cleanup

By now you have plenty of fit, accessorised and trained piñatas, which is when shows are easiest.

Master Speedfreak

Win 10 races in total. Keep using a Whirlm in the top lane, and keep it at full candiosity.

Master Exhibitor

Win 10 shows in total. Enter your best-dressed, trick-trained piñatas and choose judges whose preferences they match. Losses don't reset anything, so just keep entering.

Late Game

Late Evolutions

Two evolution items only reach Costolot's stock in the higher levels, although Seedos sometimes hands them out earlier. Do these as soon as you have the items. The Chocstrich also counts toward Master Desert Collector.

Chocstrich Evolution

Feed a Cluckles two cactus seeds (Costolot's, about level 31). If two isn't enough, keep feeding cactus seeds until it evolves.

Parmadillo Evolution

Feed a Fudgehog a coconut (Costolot's, about level 37, 450 coins).

Polollybear Evolution

Feed a Fizzlybear a blue gem. Blue gems come from Costolot's (about level 37, 360 coins) or a gem tree, and possibly from the mine. Set up the Fizzlybear as described under Russia: honey hive, Buzzlegum house and 3 Buzzlegums to make it appear, 5 Sweetooths to unblock it. Make it resident before you feed it the gem, to be safe.

Completing the Wild Gardens

Wild Pieenas, Chocstriches, Moojoos and Polollybears only appear in the wild gardens after you've evolved one. It isn't confirmed whether an evolved piñata counts for the Master Collector achievements, and the Pieena in particular is reported to need a trapped one. The safe method for all four is to evolve one, then trap a wild one, unpack it in your main garden and make that trapped one resident too.

Master Desert Collector

Make every Desert species resident: Camello, Chocstrich, Geckie, Pieena, S'morepion (the tamed sour), Sweetle and Vulchurro. They don't have to be resident at the same time. This realistically completes around level 37.

  • Camello (appears from about level 15): yam bait, Ultimate trap. Resident: 20% sand, 2 cups of coffee (have Bart tinker acorns; acorns are sold at Costolot's from about level 37) and 3 cactus flowers.
  • Chocstrich (wild): yam bait. Resident: 2% sand and 3 cactus seeds eaten.
  • Pieena (wild): orange bait. Resident: has eaten a bone; keep at least 2 square pinometers of sand.
  • Vulchurro (appears from about level 12): chilli bait. Resident: 15% sand, 2 bones, and it must eat a Crowla. Your first Crowla comes from taming the sour Crowla, and the Vulchurro eats it, so have a spare.
  • Geckie, Sweetle and the S'morepion as in Desert Collector.

If the achievement still doesn't unlock, tame a second sour S'morepion that wanders into your main garden as well as the one trapped in the Desert.

Master Arctic Collector

Make every Piñarctic species resident: Flapyak, Jeli, Lemmoning (the tamed sour), Moojoo, Pengum, Polollybear and Robean. This realistically completes around level 41.

  • Jeli (appears from about level 31): holly berry bait, Ultimate trap. Resident: 40% snow, plus 3 banana splits (tinkered bananas) and 2 orchid seeds. Orchid seeds are stocked at Costolot's from about level 41 unless Seedos gives you some earlier.
  • Moojoo (wild): holly berry bait, Business trap. Resident: 20 square pinometers of snow and 2 fir cones (check the encyclopedia entry).
  • Polollybear (wild): snowdrop bait. Resident: 20% snow and 3 blue gems eaten.
  • Flapyak, Pengum, Robean and the Lemmoning as covered earlier.

A resident Polollybear scares Pengums away, but you only need each species resident once.

Building the Choclodocus

You need four parts: the Amber Gem and three tinkered bones (a skull, ribs and a spine).

  1. Get three bones of any colour. Red bones are sold at Costolot's at about level 45 for 1,050 coins. Blue and green bones are dug up at random by Diggerlings in the Mine (Willy Builder, about level 26, 16,500 coins; Diggerling from Arfur's Inn, about level 26 to 28, 2,420 coins).
  2. Have Bart tinker the three bones with gold tickets. The first becomes the skull, the second the ribs and the third the spine.
  3. The tinkered parts arrive at the Post Office as large items. Place them in the garden.
  4. Build a Garden Store from Willy Builder (its level and price aren't reliably documented; check his list as you level). Pack the skull, ribs, spine and Amber Gem into it, leave and come back, and they combine into a Choclodocus egg. Never sell the Garden Store while it holds the Amber or the parts, because selling it destroys the contents.
  5. Make a Cluckles resident (it appears with an ear of corn in the garden and becomes resident after eating 3 ears of corn). There must be no Pretztail in the garden. Dress it in the Jurassic Hair (Paper Pets, about level 27, 960 coins).
  6. Clear the garden of sours, Ruffians and fighting piñatas, direct the Cluckles to the egg once, and leave it alone for several minutes. Interrupting a hatch can leave the egg permanently unhatchable, and you can't get a second Amber Gem.
  7. The baby doesn't grow up on its own. Feed it a bottle of milk, a bone, a Geckie, a Cocoadile and a Jameleon, in any order, and it will cocoon into an adult.

Dinokeeper

The achievement unlocks once you own a Choclodocus. Which stage triggers it is not confirmed, so check after it hatches and, if it hasn't unlocked, raise it all the way to an adult. Dinokeeper is CURRENTLY COMMUNITY-FLAGGED / BUGGY (October 2026); if it still hasn't unlocked with an adult Choclodocus in your garden, give it a few minutes and reload the garden. No guaranteed fix is known.

The Choclodocus also scares away Pester and sours, and you need to send the adult to a party later for Expert Records Keeper.

Combat Medal

Come And Have A Go

Earn a Gold Combat Medal by winning fights. Medals come at 2 wins (bronze), 7 (silver) and 17 (gold). The community method uses a normal Roario and a normal Barkbark fenced together. Putting a Halo of Hardness on both (Paper Pets, about level 40) helps the loser recover. Anger one of them by poking it with the shovel to start a fight. Don't direct the Roario at the Barkbark, because it may eat it. Top them up with Joy Sweets between bouts. Wildcards will not fight, so use normal piñatas.

The Roario appears from about level 38. It visits once you have 5 Doenuts and 5 Zumbugs in the garden and a garden worth 40,000, and becomes resident after eating 2 Doenuts and 2 Zumbugs with a garden worth 50,000. Kenya asks for a Blue Roario wearing a Gold Combat Medal, so turn this Roario blue with a bluebell seed and use it for both. Colour changes don't remove the medal.

Late Langston Regions

These regions finish between about levels 37 and 43. Look up any country Langston offers under its region here.

Region 5 Challenger

Region 5 has three countries and finishes around level 38, or 40 if you buy halos for the medal.

Egypt (finish it before India):

  • Orange Sweetle wearing a School Cap, knowing one trick: feed marmalade (tinkered orange); Trick 1 is an apple seed.
  • Purple Pieena wearing a Firefighter's Hat: feed a blackberry.
  • Buzzenge wearing Flying Goggles and a Von Ghoul Helmet.
  • Red Cinnamonkey wearing a Mr Pants Hat: feed a chilli. The Cinnamonkey appears with a monkeynut tree.
  • Camello wearing Conga's Top Hat and Toff Monocle. The Camello's coffee needs acorns from about level 37 (see Master Desert Collector).

Congo (around level 37):

  • Pink Geckie wearing a Retro Disco Wig and Disco Shades, knowing one trick: feed a cactus; Trick 1 is eating a Raisant.
  • Yellow Raisant wearing a Sweaty Wrist Band and Thunder Cut, knowing one trick: feed a sunflower; Trick 1 is a buttercup flower.
  • Orange Jameleon wearing a Beanie Cap and Diamond Choker: feed carrot cake. The Jameleon appears once three differently coloured Flutterscotches live in the garden.
  • Parrybo wearing a Pillager's Helmet and Bushy Mustache. The Parrybo appears with a bird of paradise plant and is unblocked by two Mallowolves.
  • White Sarsgorilla: feed a bone. It appears once a Bonboon is resident, and visits with 20% long grass, 3 monkeynut trees and a baby Bonboon in the garden.

Kenya (around level 38):

  • Blue Chocstrich, knowing one trick: feed a blueberry muffin; Trick 1 is a cactus seed.
  • Pink Zumbug wearing a Mermaid Necklace and Mermaid's Earrings, knowing one trick: feed a water lily seed; Trick 1 is a daisy.
  • Green Chippopotamus wearing a Grunty Hat, knowing both tricks: feed a mushroom; the tricks are a watercress seed and a bullrush seed. It appears at 40% water.
  • Yellow Limeoceros: feed a wedge of cheese. Tame the sour Limeoceros first.
  • Blue Roario wearing a Gold Combat Medal (see Come And Have A Go).

Choo-Choo Master

Completing Kenya unlocks the Spectral Locomotive at Costolot's for 1,100 coins. Buy it and place it in the garden.

Region 3 Challenger

Region 3 can't finish until Turkey, Hawaii and Egypt are done, because India needs their reward accessories. It lands around level 37. Turkey's orders are under Region 2 Challenger and Hawaii's under Region 4 Challenger.

China:

  • Whirlm, Taffly, Geckie, Tartridge and Newtgat, all plain. Use a main-garden resident Geckie.

Japan (around level 28):

  • Mousemallow, plain.
  • White Sweetle: feed a snowdrop flower.
  • Fudgehog, plain.
  • Kittyfloss: comes at night when two Mousemallows live in the garden.
  • Macaraccoon: plain, after taming the sour Macaraccoon.

Korea (around level 37):

  • Blue Cluckles wearing a Non-Resident Scarf: feed a bluebell seed.
  • Yellow Barkbark: feed a banana split.
  • Black Hoghurt wearing a Tiara (Tiara of Tranquility, about level 33): feed a tulip.
  • Pink Hootyfruity wearing Kazooie Talons: feed a water lily seed. It appears once you have a Mousemallow house and a Sherbat house.
  • White Bonboon: feed an orchid flower. It appears once the sour Bonboon is tamed.

India:

  • Orange Flutterscotch wearing a Breegull Carrier and Daisy Hair Flower, knowing both tricks: feed a White Flutterscotch a bird of paradise flower head first, then teach the tricks with a snowdrop seed and a bluebell seed. Use seeds, not flowers, and teach the tricks after the colour change, because a White Flutterscotch forgets its tricks when it changes colour.
  • Orange Quackberry wearing a Hula Necklace and Beaded Wig, knowing one trick: feed a bird of paradise seed; Trick 1 is a sandwich. Don't let it eat a gooseberry, which turns it into a Juicygoose.
  • White Peckanmix wearing Turkish Slippers and a Diamond Necklace (about level 36), knowing one trick: feed wool; Trick 1 is a blueberry. The Peckanmix appears once a Swanana is resident.
  • Red Elephanilla wearing a Comedian's Nose (about level 37) and a Fez: feed a poppy seed. It appears with a banana tree, growing chilli and palm tree, and is unblocked by 5 Salamangos.
  • Yellow Tigermisu wearing King Tut's Hat and Cleopatra's Necklace: feed a banana split. It appears with 8 tiger lilies.

Region 6 Challenger

Australia (around level 38 or later):

  • Orange Arocknid wearing Extreme Sports Goggles, knowing one trick: feed a Jack-o'-lantern; Trick 1 is eating a Bispotti.
  • White S'morepion wearing Comedian's Choice and a Red Nose, knowing one trick: feed a bottle of milk; Trick 1 is hemlock.
  • Black Goobaa wearing a Mr Pants Hat and Funky Tie: feed a tulip seed. The Goobaa is unblocked by 3 Candaries waking the sleeping Chippopotamus in its way.
  • Pink Cocoadile wearing Headphones and Cool Shades: feed a water lily seed.
  • Galagoogoo wearing a Sweaty Wrist Band: the Galagoogoo only appears once your Tower of Sour has all 12 blocks, meaning every sour has been tamed. It becomes resident after eating 4 tulips and 2 Mothdrops with a Watchling in the garden. Don't feed it sunflowers, bread or poison ivy.

Region 4 Challenger

Region 4 finishes around level 41, gated by the USA order's Yee-haw Hat.

Canada:

  • Blue Pretztail: feed a bluebell.
  • Green Squazzil: feed a watercress seed.
  • Profitamole wearing a Beaded Wig, after taming the sour Profitamole.
  • Yellow Sweetooth: feed a sunflower. It appears with 10% water and a fir tree.
  • Yellow Moojoo wearing a Stethoscope: feed a buttercup after evolving it.

Hawaii (around level 29; finish it before India):

  • Purple Custacean: feed blackberry jam.
  • Yellow Cherrapin: feed a jar of honey.
  • Green Salamango: evolve a Newtgat with a chilli, then feed the Salamango a gooseberry.
  • Cocoadile: plain, after taming the sour Cocoadile.
  • Pink Fourheads: romance two Twingersnaps and hit the egg with the shovel on its third big bounce, then feed a bottle of medicine.

Peru (around level 35 to 37):

  • Orange Twingersnap wearing a Knight Helmet: feed a Venus piñata trap. Get the Twingersnap by romancing two Syrupents and hitting the egg with the shovel on its third big bounce.
  • White Parmadillo wearing a Dellmonty, knowing one trick: feed hemlock; Trick 1 is a palm seed.
  • Dragumfly wearing a Daisy Hair Flower and Robber's Mask. It appears from about level 26, is unblocked by 5 Reddhotts, and becomes resident with 20% water and 12 bullrushes after winning a fight against a Reddhott.
  • Purple Cinnamonkey wearing a Diggerling Helmet Mk1: feed a blackberry seed.
  • Parrybo wearing a Bling Nose-Ring and Bling Earrings (about level 35).

USA (around level 41):

  • Green Doenut wearing a Football Helmet and Sweaty Wrist Band, knowing one trick: feed an oak tree seed; Trick 1 is a blackberry.
  • Blue Vulchurro wearing Reading Glasses and a Cook Hat, knowing one trick: feed a bluebell seed; Trick 1 is a cactus flower. The order text says chef hat; use the Cook Hat, and if the order is rejected, try the Soupswill Chef Hat instead.
  • Blue Smelba wearing a Blackeye Patch (about level 37): feed a fireweed flower head. Tame the sour Smelba first.
  • Pigxie wearing a Retro Disco Wig, Cool Shades and Handlebar Mustache. Cross-romance a Rashberry and a Swanana in a Mystery House from Willy Builder.
  • Eaglair wearing a Yee-haw Hat (about level 41), Yee-Haw Spurs and Sheriff Badge. The Spurs come from the credits; the Sheriff Badge is sold at Paper Pets, though its level isn't documented, so check after level 41. Don't add Yee-haw Boots. The Eaglair appears with a fully grown oak tree, is unblocked by 5 Elephanillas, and becomes resident after eating 2 Parrybos and 2 Cinnamonkeys with 10 different species resident.

Region 7 Challenger

South Pole (around level 43):

  • Purple Pengum wearing Ortho's Spare Hat and Geek Glasses, knowing one trick: feed a turnip; Trick 1 is a snowdrop flower.
  • Green Juicygoose wearing a Doenut Stalker and Dastardos Scarf, knowing one trick: feed an oak tree seed; Trick 1 is a gooseberry. Make the Juicygoose in your main garden by feeding a Quackberry a gooseberry; a Juicygoose trapped in the Piñarctic is a different variety.
  • Purple Walrusk wearing a Tussle Tricorn and Jiggy Earrings, knowing both tricks: feed a snapdragon flower; the tricks are a bullrush seed and a watercress seed. It appears with 10% snow and 10% water.
  • Yellow Polollybear wearing Star Earrings (about level 42) and a Thunder Cut: feed a dandelion after evolving it.
  • Jeli wearing a Fake Winner's Rosette and a Crown (about level 43).

Master Challenger

This unlocks when the last challenge in all seven regions is delivered, normally together with your final regional achievement. If a region achievement doesn't unlock when you expect, check Langston's map for any country not shown as finished, open each country to confirm no order is left, and give the achievement a few minutes to appear.

Records Cleanup

Expert Records Keeper

Every non-sour species has a computer record, and each Flutterscotch colour counts as its own species, which comes to around 97 records. Tamed sours are covered by their normal species. Langston's 110 orders restore most of them. The rest are these 11 species, which no challenge asks for. Send each one to a party with no challenge selected, at full candiosity, by packing it into the party crate:

  • Choclodocus (the adult): see Building the Choclodocus.
  • Flapyak: see Yakity Yak.
  • Chewnicorn: it appears once you have the Horstachio Master Romancer award, visits once a Gem Tree is planted in your garden (Gem Tree seeds are stocked at Costolot's from about level 37), and becomes resident after eating 9 gems with a fully grown Gem Tree in the garden. It can take a while to show up even with the requirements met.
  • Dragonache: once your Mine is running, a Diggerling can dig up a Dragonache egg. Have a Cluckles hatch it, then feed the baby a bottle of milk, a snapdragon flower, a Dragumfly, a Reddhott and a Salamango to grow it into an adult. Reports conflict on whether the game lets you pack a Dragonache for a party; try it, and use the Journal to confirm whether its record has been restored.
  • White Flutterscotch: it appears with a daisy in your garden, visits with 2 daisies, and becomes resident with 4.
  • Red, Blue, Pink, Black, Brown and Yellow Flutterscotch: feed a White Flutterscotch a poppy (Red), bluebell (Blue), water lily (Pink), tulip (Black), bullrush (Brown) or buttercup (Yellow). Each feeding changes that one Flutterscotch for good, so keep a White one back to send and to make the other colours. Romancing two coloured Flutterscotches always gives a White baby. Green (watercress), Purple (thistle) and Orange (bird of paradise) are already covered by Langston's orders.

The Journal only lists records for species you've come across, so a Flutterscotch colour you've never made won't stand out as missing. Tick off all 11 species above yourself, then check the Journal's computer records for any other species without a record and send those too.

The achievement unlocks when the last record is restored, usually alongside your last regional achievement. Expert Records Keeper is CURRENTLY COMMUNITY-FLAGGED / BUGGY (October 2026). Before assuming it is bugged, confirm that every Langston country is finished and all 11 species above have been sent. No guaranteed fix is known.

Online and Hardware Cleanup

These three depend on other players or extra hardware rather than garden progress, so arrange them whenever partners or a 360 and camera are available. Doing them during the main route is fine.

Online Sessions

Full House

Play in an online co-op session with four players in the same garden for an hour in total. A local second controller doesn't count here; that's One Box co-op, which is a separate achievement. Keep every controller awake. The host can leave their cursor sitting in a menu so nothing happens in the garden. Use friend invites rather than the in-game game browser, which is reported to show sessions that no longer exist.

Famous Piñata

Find a player who owns a famous piñata. Join them online and have them unpack the famous piñata from a crate while you are both in the same garden. Community groups for this game still arrange this in 2026.

Card Scan Cleanup

If you skipped the card scans earlier, they can be done at any point on a real Xbox 360 with a Vision camera. Follow the Card Sharp and Master Card Sharp steps in Getting Started, using a throwaway garden if you will carry on playing on another console.
